I would also like to see them create a new scenario for an ME4 but I think it would be much more plausible for the devs to just create a game based on existing ME history and allow the player to play as different species in different missions, sort of like the multiplayer they are putting in the game. Or create a game with a cannon story line ex. Krogan losing Rebellions and also have a non-cannon one, Krogan win Rebellions

I don't think they would bring back any of the Origninal characters for ME4 but hell ME3 isn't even out yet. they wouldn't be able to put them in it because it would diplease whoever didn't make it's fans.

I am getting off topic

this is true but what i am also getting at is if they have for example a Asari/Human romance sub plot the it will be compared with lira and shep but on a brighter not if they did make ME4 mabe we would be able to play as an Asari or Krgan or any of the others it then open up diffrent play style like dependant on your races stregnths and weakness the class system but brought up to the next level

never mind I didn't get your full post till after I refreshed the page and it loaded properly but as you can see we both had the same idia more or less

Shepards storyline end's in mass effect 3 (There is no reason they do couldn't do a pre equal trilogy or two part game to tell another characters story)

The Mass effect universe has enough room for another trilogy or a 2 part game. I hope the Mass effect team goes to work on Dragon Age 3 or another RPG series.

I can see a series where our character is a turian military operative or an Asari Justicar (the whole game could be based on their careers rise to a spectre etc).

As long as they don't spend all their time on Command and Conquer games. Still haven't gotten over that particular announcement.

[So I had a thought. If there is a Mass-Effect Four; do you think it would be reasonable to have sheps kid, as a squadmate/enemy?

If there is ever a Mass Effect IV, and someday I hope there is, it should move on and leave Shepard behind. Any descendants Shepard has should just be regular people living normal lives, and not people you run into in the story.

Besides being personally opposed to Mass Effect having all its heroes come from a single dynasty, there would be too many variables at play for Bioware to have a descendant of Shepard as a protagonist or squad mate. Quite a few potential pairings are incapable of producing children (Tali. Thane, Miranda, human same sex relationships) and then of course there is the problem of Shepard being potentially able to have Asari or Human children. Bioware wouldn't be able to navigate that minefield without rendering some peoples choices in ME1 to ME3 invalid.

If there is a ME IV for someday I think it should have a new protagonist with a new set of squadmates, and new enemies, none of which should be related to Shepard. That being said, if I were Bioware I'd slap a sort of plot armor on Liara and bring her back in a future Mass Effect title in a Flemeth role. Assuming she's still the Shadowbroker in ME3 she'd be a natural choice as a bridge between the Shepard trilogy and future Mass Effect titles. I'd have it so that she'd only die in a non-canon Reapers win scenario.

If there ever is another ME game it should not be ME4. It should be named something different. The start of a new trilogy or just a single game. The title ME4 to me implies a continuation of the current ME games.

There's a whole galaxy of stuff they've created and  I would very much like to play in it some more. They should make it take place long after Shep's story so no one's personal canon is messed up. I'd also like the option to choose a race.

The reason I brought it up was; apparently we should keep our ME3 saves. I think they should go for a whole new series.

If there ever is a Mass Effect IV (just using that title to simplify things) I'm sure it would have a title that made it stand apart from the Shepard trilogy. Assuming the series does live on beyond ME3, I hope it doesn't morph into an RTS or an MMO. As much as I enjoy both genres, there are not nearly enough good RPGs out there. I'd hate to see a good RPG series hijacked to fill another role.

Liara will be the equivalent of Kreia/Flameth of the series.

What has Liara become a cult? I think this has gone too far, threatening people with Liara given violence if they look at spoilers.

Or at least that's what I get from that 'Liara hopes that you change your mind' post. Just that whole post makes it sound like your saying Liara will hurt them for looking at spoilers.

Yep, that's what it is, Liara is our new goddes and were're ready to sacrifice anything and everyone without hesitation for the sake of blue. *please note the well hidden sarcasm*

I did nothing!   I go out of my way not to say spoilers :(

I don't think Liara should be like flemeth in ME IV. I mean as much as I like her with Shep (Of any universe :P) I can already see the Shi*storm it would create.

And Kaiden's gonna be in the Jane trailer..:? I was hoping for Liara dangit.:pinched:

I sure hope not considering how Kreia ended up. Not too sure about Flemeth either but I am rather curious as to what BioWare is going to do with her story. It'll probably be pretty cliche though...

Returning to the question I spotted several pages ago (darn this thread moved fast for a while): I'll be sticking with Liara/Garrus and Liara/Tali most of the time. Later on I'll definitely try an all Alliance team with Shepard/VS/Vega as well XD.

Considering the 360 and PS3 are going to be replaced soon, I doubt they can design around the save system.

If they do anything with the saves, it will be DLC. I highly doubt there will be file transfers to an entirely new game unless they develop it for the 360/PS3/PC

Using this picture for my point.....
Not sure how I feel about the new Liara look. Although after two games when everyone looked the same I'm not happy about them changing everyone period, but.... I disliked her ME2 face, loved her Shadow Broker face, but her ME3 face she looks... tough, like all the innocence is gone. I almost left her for Garrus, I hope the game doesn't make me regret that.

Long time lurker, first time poster but I had to reply to this...

The images used in the pic don't do Liara's refresh justice. Just be thankful that BW listened to the masses and left her with the LotSB eyes. They also toned down the pink in her lips, making it more translucent so you can kind of see the natural blue bleed through.

The page we're on need more blue anyway... this pic does a little more to compliment Liara's current look. She is disappointed you don't approve.

Back to me... a short pseudo introduction;

Been playing ME for a long time. Started with ME2 on PS3, kind of forgot all about it as, sans LotSB, it was kind of forgettable. I finally decided to get ME on PC about 6 months ago. Even with the flaws, it is by far the best RPG (Best story and immersion) I've ever played. I am a faithful Liaramancer with my Canon Femshep and all other class/background combos save for one single, angry, ruthless spacer. She softened a bit in 2 and is finally going to give in to Liara in ME3 if it's possible. This was my hardest play-through because resisting the little innocent blueberry in ME1 is not an easy task.

I'm hoping (and believe from what little I've allowed myself to see) the fan feedback has had a very positive impact on ME3's return to RPG. I can honestly say I even like how they implemented multiplayer, although it's unlikely I'll bother with it.

Your lucky that you got experience her as a little innocent blueberry, Being a PS3 user I was introduced to dark, obessive Liara and never got to see what she was like before that so I didn't like her till someone gave me reference to ME1 and I saw what she was like before. Damn you Microsoft! They screwed the VS for me the same way.

Technically we know the end of ME3 since casey said no matter what shep beats the reapers, only the smaller details are in question. That same premise could be used for Rachni or First Contact War; we know the outcome but they're is plenty of smaller details we could still experience

That isn't what this article says 'Shepard can Lose in Mass Effect 3'.

Notice release date on that article. AUG 25 2011.
this comes from Gamestar article published on Jan 21 2012

(11) There will be no "Reapers win" scenario, based on the reasoning
that such an ending is unsatisfying for players and would lead to
re-loading a saved game anyway. There will, however, be endings where
whole species become extinct and many worlds are destroyed, including
Earth.

I don't remember where exactly it was stated but he did say there were no 'Reapers win' endings. Though Shepard could still lose depending on how you define 'lose'. To me, losing ME3 means either: Humanity becomes extinct or Liara gets killed.

Lol. My shep could lose Earth, Palaven, and whatever the Salarian homeworld is called, but as long as Liara, Thessia, and Humanity survive I will count that as Shepard winning ME3.

When I saw mention of them creating more within the ME universe, that was my through as well. Any class, same story, different perspectives. That would equal awesome replayability and damn good immersion if you don't get too caught up/attached to one character's story. It shouldn't break the bank for VA cost either because not everything has to change dialoge wise.

Re: the topic on squadies mentioned earlier; In ME1 I almost always went with Garrus and Liara regardless of my own class (usually play Soldier or Infiltrator). I only recently started to play as an Adept and I still went with G&L in ME1. In ME2 it was Garrus and Zaeed/Grunt or Garrus and Tali. I really don't like any of the other ME2 characters save Mordin; from both a story line perspective, (Based on plot, besides Garrus and Tali, Mordin is about the only one that would have realistically joined Shep), and how they complement Shep in combat. Not a bash, just MO. I love both games for different reasons. LotSB being primary for ME2.

Edit: cleaned up formatting...
