Out of the crew who have been confirmed already (Garrus, Tali, Ash, Kaidan, and Vega), which ones will you be bring with Liara the most?

Liara with Garrus or Tali rotating out they were my main squaddies in 1 and in 2 minus my beautiful blue angel:(

Liara and Tali, maybe one of the spoilermates. I liked my Liara/Tali squad in Mass Effect 1, and the other three returning characters are not exactly my favorites. I haven't really made up my mind about James Vega yet.

I hope if there is ME4 that it would be like DA:O where you can choose a race and follow up each story.

that would be sweet or just let us play as a Drell Assassin,... cough...thane...cough

That would be interesting, though I hear word has it ME4 may be a prequel. I hope not, picking different races/background would be interesting for sure.

Would be a lot of voice acting work, but I kind of don't need my character to be voiced anyway. I prefer the DA:O approach.

I think a prequel would be fine (although it would nix playing any species) depending on the story line, and I'd hope it would be further back so not to touch or cross the ME1 Saren plot. There are no dates, but it stands to reason he was in contact with the Nazara for years. That arc would be better as a stand alone between a prequel and ME1. It would also allow us to see his backstory and road to hell develop... We'd also get some of Benezia's story too.

The problem with a prequel is, however, it can't take place more than 30-35 years before ME1. The first contact war would be my guess and is likely the only realistic story line unless the game has nothing at all to do with humans.

Ideas: 2 parter...

Prologue: Prothian discovery leading to mass effect relay discovery.
First contact war; I'd love to play as 'Commander' Hacket. I think he's a bad ass and it would be interesting to progress from Commander to the end game promotion to Capitan.

'Commander' Anderson: His Failed SPECTER story and the first introduction to Saren.

Andersson's story is already explained in Mass Effect: Revelation.

Instead of the movie we're getting about ME1 they should've made a movie about the Prothean discovery. Start slowly with the build of the first settlement on mars, the discovery of ancient Prothean buildings. The data cache discovery including the discovery of Mass Effect technology and EEZO, the discovery and thawing of the relay (which was encased in ice and orbiting pluto), first parts of space exploration through the relay, construction of the first space station and the first contact war. There's so much there they could easily make a movie about that.

Yeah same. I thought that when you replied in DA:O it was like very heavy answer and they replied back to you as you would've imagined. But in ME and DA2 now the dialogue you click is like something so different than what is given as an option.

If there is a Mass Effect IV I think it should move foreward in the timeline, rather than backward. We already know what happens during the Rachni Wars, which sort of kills the fun of having a game set in that era. While some might argue that we also know that the Reapers will be defeated in the end, it is not just about the ending but also twists and turns in the plot before you get there. Because the story of the Shepard Trilogy was a blank slate, there were a few twists like the fact that the Reapers were behind Eden Prime and that Saren was indoctrinated, or that the Citadel was a massive Mass Effect Relay, or that the Protheans had been turned into Collectors and used people to make Reapers, or that the Geth were not quite as hostile as we thought in ME1. With the Rachni Wars for example, there are no suprises. The big plot twist for a game set in the Rachni Wars would be that Sovereign and Reaper indoctrination is behind it. But since the Shepard Trilogy occurs later in the Mass Effect timeline, we are already aware of that fact, thanks to a conversation with the Rachni Queen.

The other problem with prequels is that humans would be eliminated from the story. It would be an all alien show, which also guarantees that Bioware wouldn't go that route.

Yeah, guilty of not reading it, or any of the books, comics for that matter.

As for the movie; meh. I won't  bother unless they cast both a femshep and male shep (never happen). So much is CGI set wise now and so little dialog would need to change, it could be done easily enough. For some reason I think a Femshep movie would do better at the boxoffice. I also think they downplay the percentage of gamers who's primary is Femshep.

"...that's just my opinion though, don't go spreading it around..."

I don't want to see a Mass Effect movie at all, because I think regardless of what route they go it will probably be terrible. That being said, I think Male Shep is a better choice than Fem Shep. Besides the fact that a much larger percentage of players play the male version of Shep rather than females, female protagonists have been done to death in video game movies. Consider that the three biggest game-to-film adaptations have all had female leads. (Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill) The butt-kicking female action hero in a movie based on a game, has been done so much that is now sort of cliche. Time to revert back to a male lead, IMO.

If they ever did make another game it would probably be set in the future not in past or same time as Shep's story. Plus if its in the future you could have a cleaner slate to start on since everything has to be rebuilt and so on. the possibility are more open then to do one from before shepards time. yes it would be interesting to see the Rachni wars and the First contact war but we already know the outcome of the wars and some major facts from them that are still effecting shep's story.

Unfortunately they are making one. There are a few threads about it.

What bugs me about the movie is I don't want to watch it and think "My Shep wouldn't have done that" over and over.

I couldn't care less about a Mass Effect movie either. I understand it could be good business if executed right but I question their judgment for making a movie about the events of Mass Effect 1. I mean so much has happened in that universe that could be told through a movie instead but nooo... they have to retell a story we've already played through, where's the fun in that?

And the movie will go a long way to canonizing a certain set of choices. Pretty weird for a series that's supposed to have no canon Shepard.

If anything they should make a movie giving or hashing out more of a backstory to the series something that won't involve shepard at all, like an adaption of Revelation or something on the First Contact War, you know like a reverse EU for Star Wars where instead of the games and books expanding the universe for the movies, the movies and books expand the universe of the games.  Also complete side note but i'm watching re-runs of NCIS right now and Director Jen Shepard was just on screen.

also complete lack of blue so i give you Princess Liara

I agree with you while i would go see a mass effect movie no matter what the plot is i like the idea of the first contact war more and more i think about it as long as they dont screw it up like they did with most video game movies ( super mario bros cough cough) and also the fact that they dont have alot of backround info but i actually red a fanfiction about the first contact war and so far its amazing and the movie would be really good if bioware used this guys story http://www.fanfictio...Siege_of_ShanxiPosted Image

I've noticed lately people are getting sloppy with hiding their spoilers, I've bumped in to a few things I'd rather have not read.

Yeah, people seem to be getting loose-lipped the closer we get to ME3's release.

The one who created the sigs and the topic is Lord Grunt and in this same page he said he was out for a while and he has just returned here today, so maybe he hasn't read your other posts asking for the sigs ;), so give him some time to read the thread :D I hope too he reads your request and he finds how to retablish the sigs because I too (and lot of users) had his sigs and we lost all of them too;)

see ya!

I guess the spoilermates are no longer a secret, that's true. But there are many fake spoilers as well (like the Liara vs Garrus virmire situation thread).

So, we now know you can make past choices in a default run of ME3.

Who's going to test it with the new femshep?
