We'll see how much of an effort she makes to fix the mess she made with the Cerberus debacle and Sheps feelings on Illium. P-Shep (The most pure paragon you can get in ME2) is discusted with Liara's actions and told her friendship only and no to drinks; 'keep it professional'.  Her pic is still up. We'll see what the save import does. It was one of my hardest playthroughs. Trust me.

Not only would it be unlikely she would consider seeing anyone while morning Sheps death, because of what I've gathered in my play time, I don't think she will move on after he/she dies permanently either: if Sheps actually do die within the normal human lifespan. And I also don't think it would make her a lesser character. It boils down to choice, and the fact that she probably wouldn't want to put someone in a position to compete with the savior of the galaxy. She may be a crazy obsessive, but she's also very selfless when it comes to people she cares about... at any expense to others, unfortunately for them.

Whether or not Liara saw someone over that two year span that Shepard was dead, I think it is highly unlikely that she'd remain single after Shepard dies.  As a 109 year old member of a species that often lives for well over a 1,000 years, she may have a millenia or more still to live even if Shepard dies of old age. If Liara had instead been Samara's age it would make sense that Shepard may be her last romance, but with Liara so young, it is more likely that Shepard would be the first but not the last. The overheard conversation on Illium between a Salarian and his Asari daughter also seems to suggest that the Asari understand and accept that they'll often live longer than their alien husbands/wives, and while they may not forget past mates, it doesn't prevent them from moving on eventually and finding someone else. Considering how young Liara is it is also possible that by the time she dies of old age, that she'd have had several husbands or wives throughout her lifetime, unless she ends up settling down with another Asari.

Also I don't think Shepard would want Liara to remain alone after his death. 900 or 1,000 years or more is a very long time to live alone and in mourning. What a sad and depressing existence that would be...

You may have moved on from this but regarding Feron, I'm aware Liara doesn't reciprocate any feelings (if there are any). But see, even the possibility of such is unacceptable and needs to be nuked from orbit. Only way to be sure.
Of course, even Shepard can't just borrow a nuke (unless we happen to have another drive core handy) so it falls to various squadmates to do the job. I almost have justifications for every squadmate for why they may be persuaded to kill Feron. If I ever type such a list it shall be titled "The Many Deaths of Feron"

But if you feel I'm being too bloodthirstly I offer this non-lethal alternative: freeze him in cryo. When Shepard dies Liara can thaw him do with him as she wishes. Hey it might even help her get over it. That's the only thing I've got that doesn't involve space vampires or various mass being accelerated towards his face.

Moving on and moving forward are two different things. The Liara character has a difficult time with the former. It is hard to say what 'she' would do after Shep dies, but I do see it as moving forward more than moving on. I conclude this based on her personality and the way Asari view relationships. Sheps affected her differently though I think - messed her up for all those to follow, if you will. It's that damn melding business... brain virus maybe.

In my Shep/Liara headcanon ... Liara doesn't move forward and that is part of her shame. She was taught to let go to honor the dead but instead she can't. She can't stop missing Shepard ... needing Shepard.

She tries many things over the 2 years to get past that aching need but nothing works. What has dulled the pain is focusing on revenge ... Or at least it keeps her numb for the most part. I think Liara was in darkness, doing things that were brutal and at times unforgiving while Shepard was gone.

Will ME3 have Shepard and Liara talk about that time? Probably not and a part of me doesn't want Bioware to touch on it. This would leave each of us to have our own "stories" on how she coped ... or didn't cope. It's the same with the reason why Benezia and Liara were not talking. I prefer that Bioware not double back on that since (selfishly) I've already filled in that reason for my own headcanon.

I prefer holes so that we can bring our own buckets and pails ... filling them in with our imaginations.

No that's not true.  In the codex it explains that Asari pass from one stage to another at different times.  Its different for each Asari, its when they "feel" done with one stage and ready for the next.

I agree with Turbo. It very well could be that she's moved on to the Matron stage.  Or is in transition.

I wonder if this will be touched on in ME3 ... I'd be sad to see her move into the matron stage this early myself.

And if they were to just default her into the matron stage then a non-romanced Liara was "melding" frequently with who?

I think they've got just because of how they fell into the ground.. it's beetween 5-6 seconds, after that they change so it's impossible to know, but i'll still trust they've got
