I think it just boils down to some players wanting to headcanon certain characters being disliked, because they (the player) hates that character. But just because a player feels a certain way, doesn't mean characters on the squad feel the same way. That applies to Shepard as well. Shepard for example mourns the loss of Kaidan or Ashley on Virmire, whether or not the player hated the character that died.

Singularity is back baby, it's a very powerful skill even on high difficulty with a very short CD.
My strategie was to pull some Enemies with Singularity and plant my Turret in the middle (the Turret was like a little flame thrower). They had no chance!
Adept was a disappointment.
And again I have no idea what to do with Garrus. Tomorrow I try the Sentinel and Vanguard. ^^

Isn't Liara an adept?
Just curious why the class was a disappointment, since I'd think Liara would have the same abilities as a player adept.

I know. She was worried that Shepard would hate her for giving his/her body to Cerberus. You can't blame her for that. Even if you renegade Liara during her cameo on Illium. You can still see how much she cares for Shepard. Out of 11 Shepard's 5 are with Liara and only my tool femShep was unfaithful. That is why I call her a tool. I can't say that about the VS because of what they said to Shep on Horizon. Lot of patching up between Shep and VS. You can tell there is some unresolved issues between them in the demo.B33ker wrote...

Their basic skills are the same, but the Adept has lift gerandes and Liara doesn't. So far I like 5 of the 6 classes. I sucked at vanguard in ME2 and sucked more in the demo. That is on me not the class. I only have one vanguard Shep anyway. Where I have 2 soldiers, adepts, and engineers.Han Shot First wrote...

Almost the same, Liara has Stasis and Shepard has shockwave and I think some other stuff.
I liked the Adept though, it was just the cooldowns in the second part of the demo were too long becuase you had too many weapons equipped.

Totally in character for a military officer. They are geeks for that sort of thing.
In my headcanon Shepard has on his wall an oath once uttered by the warriors of ancient Athens:"I will not disgrace the soldiers arms,
nor abandon the comrade who stands at my side;
but whether alone or with many, I will fight to
defend things sacred and profane. I will
leave my country not lessened, but
larger and better than I received it."
I like that one as well.

I suck at that class. Playing the demo, I sucked more. Loved engineer and adept classes. Soldier is my favorite anyway. The 1 think that did bug me no sniper rifle in demo and I used that rifle always as infiltrator.SinnSly wrote...

That's actually not why ... I love Tali and Liara.
I just never saw Tali and Liara being "friends" ... ie, chatting for hours and hanging out. They would have a respect for one another's abilities and completely trust each other on the field ... but off-duty I don't really see them being best buds because they are different personalities and have different interests.
Tali is an absolute techie to me and so she would be around people like Engineer Adams and Liara would spend her time with individuals like Dr. Chakwas. Never thought they would hate one another just not attend tupperware parties together.
But what happened on the Normandy and the characters is really left to each gamer ... unless you are talking about Miranda & Jack.

Yeah, my main classes are Vanguard and Infiltrator, with my main weapons as SMG/Assault Rifle and Sniper rifle, but I with the Vanguard has a biotic infused omni blade, suits it more...

What happens between the squadmates is up to the writers and not really on the players. We can headcanon it all day that this character hates this one, (Miri/Jack excluded) and the writers might not write it that way in ME3. The demo did nothing but whet my desire to play the full game now. I only need to unplug my Kinect from the Xbox again and I am all set. It doesn't work like they claim. Which is the only part of the demo I don't like.

Awesome. Killing that Heavy in the last part of the Demo with the Adept was really painful. I had to rescue Liara two times.
In ME2 Vanguard was my favourite class. They have this new AE (Don't know the name).Did anyone test, if this is a Biotic Combo if you do the AE in Liara's Singularity?
That would blow my mind.

Just because we headcanon things doesn't mean that is what the writers will have the characters do in ME3. I felt Shepard wasn't happy with the VS when they met outside the committee's room and again when Shep boarded the Normandy. Everyone might be happy happy with the VS even after what happened on Horizon, but that doesn't mean that is how it will play out in ME3. Just an example. Wrex seemed very happy to see Liara and Garrus, but some feel they would not like each other. Writers are going to take the characters to places we didn't expect or want and we as the player are going to have to deal with it.
Do you really think Tali like either Miri or Jacob? I highly doubt it. Tali hates Cerberus. Just an example of the hate.

For the demo, one thing you can to do is to use Throw Bombs. Since you can evolve Throw not to use up cooldown if it Combos, this leaves you only limited by Liara's cooldown on Singularity, which is short if you pick the right powers

A Family Vacation is really awsome.
I'm already sick of the demo, lol. I found that the scnes with the V.S really portrayed that underlying sense of tension, very well. You can sense right from the get-go Shep and (In my case) Ash have issues to sort out.

I always keep myself open to what Bioware shows and readjusts my own headcanon based on it so I'm right there with you on that. There are times that I question what they do (Miranda resigning for one if you destroy the CB / quarians allowing Legion on their ship) but it is their story after all.
When it comes to hate there are characters that I think would not get along at all ... Miranda & Jack, Jacob & Thane, Tali & Jacob, etc. But that is only because Bioware laid that groundwork. Even then, in ME3 they could switch gears and Jack & Miranda could be friends. It would be a

Retour en haut
