Ashley can be killed so does anyone else in ME2 except Liara. It would be logical to put Liara in the trailer and not Ashley, but hey... let's not complain now.
I think Ashley was in the trailer because the theme was all about humanity taking back Earth. Considering the theme and tone of the trailer, either Ashley or Kaidan made more sense. I'm also sort of glad that Liara wasn't in this one. It would just provided more fuel for those who like to rant about how Liara is 'favored' by Bioware, even though she isn't.
That being said apparently there is an extended version of the new trailer that is being released on Tuesday. Hopefully there will be glimpses of the other squadmates as well, including Liara.

I would agree that Liara should not be pregnant in game but would still be nice to have a wedding/bondmate cerimony

Can you imagine the amount of ****ing on this forum if Liara was in that trailer as well as all the other vids we've seen thus far? It would be a glorious sight

Liara would certainly be a glorious sight, in all her blue hotness.
The 'herr durr Liara is favored' threads...not so much.

I did not think the trailer was great, but ashamed? Did you really feel it was that bad?

Compared to the Sacred Ashes trailer (DAO) or their TOR trailers...it was a bit disappointing, in my opinion.

Did not like Sacred ashes and I really don't care about TOR. But even just comparing it to ME2's CGI trailer (the cut edition), ME3's was disappointing but not what I would say shameful.
Maybe the extended edition is better.

Maybe it's because I like Leliana and Morrigan more than Ashley...I don't know
I wouldn't describe it as shameful either. I found the trailer a bit underwhelming, that's all. The full version might be better ofc.

Well, Ash is the marketing love interest. She is the normal human. Disgruntled fans might think Liara is the cannon LI, but really it's Ash and Miranda. Who I'm pretty sure will be the movie's romances if they ever make them.

What's bad about the trailer? The only problem I had with it was that child being more creepy them the Reapers.

Doesn't Liara get more than enough attention as it is? I love Liara but i'm really glad Ash got the spotlight this time around.
I'm glad she got the spotlight too. But I also would've loved to see Liara in CGI goodness.

I don't mind Liara being absent from this trailer. She's been featured so much in ME3's marketing already that, even though I adore Liara, it's nice that some other characters are also getting some screentime
About the trailer: You really had to pay attention to realize that was Ashley (If you didn't know about her makeover). To be perfectly honest I think they put her in that trailer to look like some kind of badass space babe with a gun rather than the actual soldier we know from ME1 and 2. Not sure if I find it funny or sad, maybe both.

I disagree. I think Ashley was in the trailer because it was focusing on humans specifically, hence the "Take Earth Back" monniker. Which is also the reason why I think Liara would have been rather out-of-place in this particular trailer.

I think it just had a lack of story really. Reapers show up and then there is some action scenes afterwards.
Compare that to ME2's CGI where we see TIM and Miranda talk about Shepard going on an impossible mission and that he is recruiting an impressive team, then cue to ME2 squadmates doing their thing. Ending with Shepard readying with Thane and Grunt to attack.

- First the music, the beginning was good, but then it became generic trailer music.
For me it's the same thing like watching a Rogue-PvP movie with Linkin Park music.
- Sheploo and Ashley walking in slowmo. I knew it, the council is searching for the next Galactic Super Model, I loved how the worked the catwalk.
And then, the most horrifying thing, since Underworld. > The slowmo jump <
There is no excuse for slowmo jumps, of any kind.
Maybe it's a good thing that the trailer is so bad. WotLK had an awesome trailer, but the Addon killed WoW.

Load of space cuttlefish come down (how are people going to even know what the hell is going on besides boom?), then cut to Shepard and Ashley, Shep pulls his gun out, some random helmeted dudes show up (who for all we know could be enemies, if you haven't played the ME games) and then the husks start attacking and Shepard fires two bullets which don't even sound like the Mattock and whips out his blatantly fake omniblade..
Mergh.
Could have at least shown Ashley fighting, but she just seemed to be there for sex appeal, and the combat began and ended far too quickly anyway.

I agree on what you said but I still liked the trailer.
No Liara makes it lose points though...
