Now see, that's what I pictured in my head that she would have worn. A long stylish trench... no need for tedium of zippers and clasps and getting headfolds stuck while trying to... well, you get the idea. Just three buttons.

Well, that's part of it, but it's also that the possibilty of Shepard's death seems more imminent due to the SM, which makes Liara's worries and the whole scene more emotional, at least to me anyway.

This is true although after the SM, Shep and Liara can reflect more on the future. The Reaper invasion is now the next threat which is a whole lot bigger than the collectors. Also I like the transition from the 'how are you doing' part to the 'goddess, you were dead' part a lot better since it goes something like:

Liara: You know I'm 108, 109 in a couple of months
Shepard: I should get you something nice
Liara: You're alive again. I've got everything I want. So tell me what you want, if this all ends tomorrow, what will happen to us?

This to me feels like a single conversation. When doing it before the SM the conversation is different and doesn't flow as nicely as the scene I described. Just personal preference though.

Indeed!

I like the dress. It is rather form fitting as the picture shows, and it gives her something of a professionel look. And I also do not think Liara would wear anything more revealing given the context.

With the announcement that PS3 preorders online get an ME3 theme, I've been debating about putting together a PS3 theme around Liara.  Nothing super flashy (it wouldnt fit for her), but something simple (and blue!) with a nice image, a quote maybe and use the "Catching Up" badge for the icons or something.
If I could get a working dynamic theme with a shot of her looking up or something it would be even better, but I'd probably start small if I dared attempt it at all.
And dangit, now I've got to dig out my Monty Python clips.

BTW I saw so many introductory posts at the last couple of pages, I have the feeling I should do one myself now since it's been years since I last was active in the Liara threads.

So here goes:

*stands up* Hello there, my name is FdL_Ananas and I'm a Liara addict.
It all began when I played this game named Mass Effect on my PC and there was this cute blue alien science girl and she said she was interested in this character I played and I thought "Oh well, trying it just once couldn't hurt, could it?" - and then it all became a blue swirl of emotions and it was all so nice and I just couldn't stop anymore and had to romance her again and again with my other characters to the point where all the other romance plots in the games - even the well written ones - didn't interest me anymore *sob* *sits heavily back on chair*

Well it's actually not quite that bad but I've been a fan of Liara since almost day one - though the reasons for that have changed a bit over the years.
I think I have talked more than one person's ear off about her in the past so it's nice to find people that might actually be interested.
With ME3 around the corner I'm looking forward to hanging out with you all in here, tossing lot's of blue pictures around and ultimately discussing everything about Liara in the new game.
And maybe I'll even try a bit of MP in the future, you make it sound like it's actually a lot of fun...

I allways liked the fact that it's colors refference her lab coat in ME1. But I whished the design would be a bit more - I don't know - gentle? - flowing? Those huge white stripes allways bugged me ...

Nothing wrong with American Males but the majority on Live( That I have played with.) are a-holes. Intrestingly enough if you compare games, the civil players mostly have RPG's on their list. The Liara hate/bashing can get pretty bad too..

My nephew is hooked on Mass Effect because of me and it is always nice chatting with him because, like me, he likes all the characters. His main squeeze is a tie between Miranda & Tali at the moment but he loves Liara, Ashley, Jack, etc. We can chat on the characters all day.

I am trying to get him to play MP with me and hopefully that will happen soon.

Talking with Mass Effect fans outside the board is different because there is so much non-character bashing. Just excited ME fans talking about who they love!

Since there has been all this talk about blue babies, not that i am interested in my femshep and Liara having children, atleast not ingame. I have been wondering if the child would have facial markings like all other non-pure asari or would the child have no markings at all?

Pretty sure facial markings have nothing to with if an asari is pureblood or not, considering Liara has markings.
