Seems Patrick isn't going to be writing Liara's romance in ME3. Someone else, who wrote for LOTSB is doing that.

I thought Patrick wrote for the entirety of LOTSB. :?

Anyway if that certain someone who is writing Liara's romance in ME3 also was a part of LOTSB (potentially the one who also wrote the romance in LOTSB?) I am reasured.

I assume Patrick had a small staff helping him. As long as that same talent is still writing Liara, I'm not worried.

There were 3 other writers. Sylvf I believe was one of them, and I believe wrote the Shadow Broker and Feron.

Lair of the Shadow Broker's writers were:

Chris Hepler

Jay Watamaniuk

Patrick Weekes

And Sylvia Feketekuty.

So it's one of those three I guess.

At first when I read this I thought: Oh no. But reading onward, seeing one of the people responsible for the masterpiece that's called Lotsb  will be taking over, I'm reassured as well.

Anyone explain the child situation with liara and shep please? If liara did have children and shep was the father, genetically the child isn't sheps are they? They only have one biological parent which is liara. How would this work?

The lore isn't clear on this part. The codex states an Asari child gains only the genes from her mother. Some asari clain some genes are taken from the father species as well. Safe to say at this point an Asari child will only have physical traits like her mother, though her personality can still change as a result of being raised by a male or female from another species (Shepard's strong personality would, I think, have a larger influence on their child than Liara would, even though Liara isn't exactely weak either)

I'm a bit worried, mostly because she's in unknown hands again. I never really like it when another writer is writing for a character. At least when it's the same writer, you either expect things to be of the same quality, or better. And for things to be more consistent. While with a new writer, you don't know what'll happen. Like the difference between a director staying for the sequel, and being replaced by someone else. There's an unknown if it's in the right hands.

And that is a fair concern. However this new writer was a part of LOTSB and therefor I will remain optimistic.

Liara.

Honestly I can never do another romance path. I've seen them all, and Tali's is actually a close second, but Liara is just too awesome, every time. Out of my 20 something savegames, about 15 of them romanced Liara.

Shepard will end up passin away and liara will eventually move on, have many mating partners mentally and....physically, just imagine her with a krogan! Four balls instead of two! Poor liara!

Now we know who to roll up in a carpet and throw off a brigde if Liara's romance is terrible!

I think it's a good thing that someone writes Liara's lines who worked on LotSB.

Liara will move on, eventually yes. But I don't see it happening for a long time, and even then she probably would never feel the same to anyone else as she did for Shepard. Probably not even close.

I'll admit Shepard/Tali romance dialogue at the normandy drive core is kind of sweet and it almost made me want to try out the romance for once, though it wasn't enough to make me actually cheat on Liara and I couldn't picture myself NOT romancing Liara in ME1. I've tried to make a no romance playthrough but when Liara brought up her feelings and I moved my mouse to the 'I just want to be friends' option I just couldn't click it and went for 'I am attracted to you' instead.

You're probably right. And you know what they say about someone's first love...

At this point I couldn't see Liara being with anyone other than Shepard. For her it would be nice if she developed something with Feron eventually (if unromanced of course) though I'll never see it first hand. I think Liara deserves some proper happiness in her life seeing as she's went through so much at such a comparatively young age. Regular Asari of her age haven't seen anything but the inside of a 'sleazy bar', as Aethyta nicely put it, or a mercenary training camp.

Well considering Liara is still rather young, and to be doing what she has been for being so young. She's probably a lot more mature then most maidens her age, and has, admittedly, seen far more then she probably should have for being 108.

However, that being said, she has taken it all with such confidents and stride that if Benezia were around, I'm sure she would be so proud of her. I mean lets face it, from being a shy scientist being barely an adult to helping save the galaxy, and her dealings with the Shadow Broker, and Shepard's death in the second game... most younger people would have been either too scared to do anything, or been like frell this, I'm out of here.

It just shows Liara's determination, and she acts more like a matron, then a maiden in most scenarios.

Liara's more mature than most people in the galaxy, period. The only people we've seen at her level are Benezia, Mordin, Samara, and Chakwas.

Plus those frequent melds sure do accelerate the process ;)

I sorta like Liara's immature side, though. Sure, she's intelligent and thoughtful. But she can also be impulsive and reactionary.

One of the things i loved about ME is Liara being socially awkward it was very cute and Ali Hillis executed it will so it came off very convincing as well.
Her sometimes random lines made the game one of the best of all time for me.

I love that when you get to consort chambers Liara gets a bit jelous ;)
