Because Kaidan is human and not known for having sex with many people.

Shai'ira is renouned for her skill in pretty much everything comforting and loving, and she's an asari. It'd be like seeing someone you have a crush on meeting a promiscuous hot celebrity in his/her private room.

Although she's not nearly as obnoxious about it as Ash/Kaidan are during the mission meetings.

Don't see it, I wouldn't care about a little meaningless fun. Kaidan/Ashley is a real thread for winning Shepards heart.

It's from her perspective--technically, romance between Shepard and anyone else on the Normandy is forbidden.

With the Consort, it's a clear and credible "threat", for the reasons I mentioned above.

Originally I was dead set against Liara and the Asari in general; I perceived them to be stereotypical sci-fi fanservice. But in the interest of completionism and having many varying playthroughs (because I want to experience as much Mass Effect as possible), I created a Shep to romance Liara.

Now, speaking as someone who had no interest in romancing Liara until playing through LotSB, I suggest people take heart that LotSB writers are writing Liara's story in ME3. LotSB is that good. It made a fan out of me. We should be so lucky if ME3 romances (regardless of the character you choose) are as good as the LotSB Liara arc.

A huge waste of money since he either dies on Virmire or flips you off on Horizon xD

As far as Liara and Sha'ira go, I think Liara is ok with other asari accepting their sexuality, but she draws the line when they turn it into an expensive brothel. Because the Consort is basicly an expensive hooker.
So I see exactly why she is so irritated by her, since the Consort basicly confirms all the bad rumors about the asari, that they would sleep with anyone.

Seems Patrick isn't going to be writing Liara's romance in ME3. Someone else, who wrote for LOTSB is doing that.

How do you make Liara say that? I've done multiple playthroughs where I picked up Liara the moment I could get off the Citadel, then took her with me the entire game but she's never said this when I met the consort. How do you do it?

No I'm not jealous, because it has nothing to do with real intimacy.
I can have a whole conversation with someone which will be more intimate, than sex with a professional.

The thing is, the whole encounter is OOC. My Shep can have that brief encounter and act like Liara is the first asari.
And Liara is jealous in that scene, but later she says "I understand the concept of jealousy."

The whole Sha'ira thing seems random and OOC for me, but it's funny and entertaining.

I know Kaidan and Ash react the same way. That doesn't mean they're very open for Shepard to have sex with other people. Liara simply is concerned, and sees the Consort as a threat. Just like Ash and Kaidan.

If I remember correctly, do not talk to the consort at all until Liara has admitted she has feelings for you, and you return those feelings. Then she says that line out of jealousy

How do you make Liara say that? I've done multiple playthroughs where I picked up Liara the moment I could get off the Citadel, then took her with me the entire game but she's never said this when I met the consort. How do you do it?

After you get your spectre staus, skip all the quests on the citadel and do therum right away, pick up Liara and return to the Citadel. Then do the Consort quest with Liara and someone other then ashe or kaidan (i assume) I personally had Garrus, and then she says that, or at least it's how I got it.
