This may contain what could be considered mild spoilers for how Liara's romance works, if that's something you want to discover for yourself. I'm not spoiling content, I just wanted to clarify how it functions because it sounds like there's some confusion. Leaving a little spoiler space just in case.

Spoilers question:

Did anyone else have Liara say something about "not being together for years", dispite having played the LotSB DLC and reconnecting during the Normandy scene 6 months ago?

I belive she was supposed to mention something about the tour on the Normandy....

Could it possibly be because my acheavements were reset (in ME2) after I reformatted my computer to windows 7?

Is this a bug?

I think there's a bug with the LotSB import flags.

I've noticed some weird things with Liara regarding romance later on too.

Like later on:

*spoiler*

Liara mentions that Shep is a good friend and Shep's like, 'I want to be more than friends.' and I was like wtf I thought you two already were officially 'together'.

For the record, the latter's not a bug. You can still decide to be with someone else up until that point (even if you tell Liara you want to rekindle your relationship in that first conversation in her office...) so we needed a way to definitively communicate to the player "OK, listen, this is absolutely it for choosing your one true romance". I went for the most obvious paraphrase possible to avoid any confusion over whether this was the moment you became a serious, together-forever item.

The former problem, Liara saying it's been years since she saw you instead of mentioing how she visited you in LotSB... I'm afraid that does sounds like a bug. The problem didn't appear during testing and I'm not sure why it's popping up now, but it looks like the game isn't recognizing that you had an intimate moment with Liara onboard the Normandy in LotSB. My sincerest apologies for that.

Well seems like a bug :P since many people are having the same issue (including me), tought I dunno if affects anything on their relationship, does it  ???

I guess I find it odd that Liara refers to Shepard as 'friend' throughout the game but Shepard's response isn't an issue.

Thanks for answering :D

Here's a non-spoilerish screen from the game.

I got to the point where Liara first comes up to the cabin and talks about being a good friend.

I didn't see an option for wanting to be more than friends even though I romanced her in both games. He just says "So are you"

Is this a bug?

Nah, that's not what people are talking about. The cabin talk doesn't have any dialogue splits that depend on having a romance.

This is the part where she visits Shep's cabin with the timecapsule, correct? So that scene has no effect on the romance? Because I only got the 'so are you' (a friend) option as well, despite having romanced her in both games (The game didn't recognise that my Shep had recommitted to Liara in LotSB either.).  It's pretty confusing at that point.

I don't think it's affected by the romance, but I think it still works very well (that's either genius or lazy writing :D); the only way to be sure, of course, would be to get the ME construction kit.

Edit:

The former problem, Liara saying it's been years since she saw you instead of mentioing how she visited you in LotSB.

I don't think that's necessarily a bug; I thought that she meant that it had been three years since they had really been together (with Shep being dead for two, hunting the Collectors and getting placed under house arrest while Liara had to dig up the Deus-Ex-Machina*)

* That's technically not a spoiler since the lack of foreshadowing in ME1, ME2 necessarily renders any solution to the Reaper conflict a Deus-Ex-Machina

Nope. Since she considers you a friend, too, even if you're in a romance, I thought that would be an appropriate cap to the scene. If I could go back, I don't know that I would've changed the line, but I might've asked my cine designer if we could get her head on Shepard's shoulder or a similar nod to the romance.

For my finished playthrough, my femShep didn't romance Liara. So I'm vastly intrigued by the sharing of memories which showed just bright light and expanse of stars with Liara putting her head on Shep's shoulder. I think this scene is generic for both male/female Sheps, LI or no. But it is still, a interesting touching scene.

I romanced Liara so it was a bit different for me.

Shepard and Liara kissed, but the star/light thingy happened.

I assume you're referring to the scene after getting to the FOB? I'd have interpreted that differently, in a way incompatible with friendship.

Anyone talked to Aethyta yet? I had to reload my save since it didn't really make any sense. I'd understand it if my Shepard is just friends with Liara and Kaidan is LI but it sound like opposite.

No spoilers here, don't fear:

I'm through and I admire all romance scenes with her, all her scenes in general.
What I promise is: This game makes a good job in making the player feel something in a special way, more I cannot say without spoilers. Its just emotional.

Minor spoilers in inviso-text!

Aethyta is in the game. I've talked to her. ]She's in on the Presidium at the Apollo bar.  The renegade interrupt in that scene is just epic. Everyone who romances Liara will love it. :wizard: Please don't reply to this message as it will make the spoilers appear.

So yeah, that's it. Journey ends.

About 30hrs in 3 days. 100% of side-quests, galaxy explored, dlc. 100% of the content. On hardcore. Heh, suddenly I felt quite tired...

Oh, BioWare. I'm deeply convinced this is the best video game trilogy of all time. Glorious, compelling, engaging, endearing, captivating, epic, beautiful. You forged one of the finest stories ever. I salute and bow to you.

Yeah, I dislike destination though. Not a surprise. Had endings spoiled, although was hoping for a better outcome, for context thing... Nah. That was even worse than I had imagined. Why, BioWare? You had entire universe of possibilities and yet you left it that way. I've the difficulties of accepting it...

I'm sad and tired.

A lot of Liara and heavy spoilers on every page. Enjoy.

Yes, I've intepreted that way too because this is the save in which there was a 'struggle' between Kaidan and Liarra in ME1. I think it also pans out if femShep is just fast friends with Liara (whom I think has always loved Shep quietly). I always get the feeling Liara wants to confess (probably my over hyperactive imagination Image IPB ) it but never did because it's obvious Shep loves Kaidan.

Anyways, in the end. I am really really angry with the endings. I'll just do one more round which has femShep romancing Liara to get the dialogues but I will not finish the ending.

I can only hope at least 90% of ME3 players make a loud noise (after a few weeks) about the horrible let down and Bioware gives us a DLC with a happy conclusion.

well not reached the end yet but I know or think I know the ultimate ending and I know I'm going to be disappointed. and not being given the choice of a happy ending (the opposite of the suspected rage inducing ending) is BS and forced and in my mind makes the choices in mass 1 and 2 pointless and I may only play to the end of the romance with Liara and make my own ending or read some fan fic or something.

It ruined the series for me, and as I said I am going to delude myself into thinking "that thar blue chick got a babe in hur bellah." no matter how crude, if they confirmed that I change my stance on the game from total ****fest ending to a bittersweet one.

EDIT took out spoiler...

Man, looking at those screens from ME3 of Liara, I never noticed how scaly Asari skin is.

Don't think it is scales, too small and to uniform. they are something else. either way she is a blue alien who I happen to find as the best LI. (>o-o)>

There are the odd threads by people who are happy, and hundreds of pages of threads by people absolutely furious (I've heard that 700 pages were deleted).

As I said, I'll probably pretend that endgame didn't happen and that they found a less dumb way to deal with the Reapers.

Yeah, the skin's a bit odd. Maybe they should have told the artists that "darker" wasn't to be interpreted literally?

You will see, it's all based on how much you care for your crew and all the other races as a whole. if you don't give a rats ass about them, then it's a great ending, just not very fair to those who do care lol
