Personally I wouldn't mind fanfic writers ignoring the endgame - there's got to be a better way than "hope like hell that Shepard comes across a working Catalyst before the Reapers get to where we're building the Crucible" anyway...

Well, there aren't any hard numbers to be found but the codex says that Mass Relays allow the instantaneous journeys for distances that would take centuries at FTL speed; thus it doesn't really matter whether or not Shepard lived because he'll be dead by the time the rescue ships get back to Earth.

Edit: I think rejecting a bit of canon (pretend the crash didn't happen and Normandy was instead fighting Reapers) is preferable to creating an inconsistent universe (nonsensical FTL)
.

This. Or I'll just headcanon it the way it is. Easy to do with all the nonsense and plot holes...

I'll definitely headcanon it...and maybe even write some fan fiction one day. I think if players share their fan fiction with each other, it might cheer people up. Hopefully. :)

Or maybe the backlash will be bad enough for Bioware to fix it with DLC....

I enjoyed every moment with Liara.  That for me was perfect.  Even awkward at time, but that's okay.  I only recorded the opening 3 and half hours of game play, so I don't have much in way of new pics right now.  I did however have 2 save files that lead to good scenes between Liara and Shepard to record.  Missing a few others though.

It's been well over an hour later and I still feel gutted.  If this is the emotion BW wanted, they got it from me.

Im starting to wonder if the reason for the glitch with Liara and seemingly not recignizing LotSB is because of multipule condition flags overwriting eachother.

A similar situation happened to Conrad Verner in ME2 on Illium. He would default to a renegade conversation. The only way to get the Paragon convo was to use the Gibbed save editor.

While inside the editor it could be seen that EACH conversation was checked(in ME2). So, only the renegade convo came through as default.

Perhaps this is happening in ME3.

Miss Sylvf if your listening, start their for any potential bug searches:)

I'd love to get a fix bundled into a patch, but I'm afraid I can't promise anything. If Liara reacts properly in her investigate hub - the conversation with repeatable questions - to whether or not you completed Shadow Broker, the initial line is a one-time thing and much less likely to get targetted in a patch.

I have a few questions, wonder if anyone whose finished the game can offer a little insight.
******SPOILERS INCOMING************************

I romanced Liara in ME1. Never even really TALKED to Kaiden. Rekindled with her in ME2 Shadowbroker, Little blue babies (lies...lies bioware...) and all that good stuff.

I meet her in 3. and she's all.."I havent seen you in years!" I know this is a bug. I live with it. Moving on . Reassure the newly incredibly insecure and co-dependent asari, that -YES- Still loves.

I get the scene with "FLATTERER!"..which caused -massive-daws.

Then i get the 'time capsule' cut scene..and we're back to friends town.

I'm worried my flag for romance isn't working. Does EVERYONE who romances Liara just get 'I've been a bad friend!" as a dialogue choice for this encounter?

I only ask, as I'm tempted to scratch the 13 hours i have invested and re-import.

Thanks for any insight guys!

There's a bug in the way ME2 save the LotSB file and ME3 cannot register it. In order to rekindle your relationship with her you'll have to find her in the Presidium Commons, then she'll tell you a story about how that place reminds her of Thessia and finally Shepard can say about being more than friends and spend the rest of their lives togheter.

It's a really heart warming scene.

Thankyou. Can you give me a time frame on the Citidel talk? I just finished the second citidel mission, but i've not recieved any mail that says "we should talk on the citidel!'

And I saved right before that scene and have replayed it several times already.  I need to record it and one other scene.  I'm hoping they fix the facecode issue, because Leia didn't import.

Yes, any Shep can actually use that chance to rekindle or start a romance, even if they never showed interest before. HOWEVER, if you want the relationship, you need to pick both upper right paragon-y conversation options during the conversation before, to finally have the option to tell her that you'd love to be friends or that you'd love to be more. If you don't pick the paragon options, you'll instead have the choice between being friends and keeping it professional.

About half way through or so.  You'll get messages from Garrus, Liara, Kaidan(Ashley), Javik, and I forget if I got one from Vega or EDI about taking some time together while on the Citadel.  I'm sure if I had Tali, she would have sent me a message too.

Yeah. I wrote this earlier in the thread, but it bears repeating: The time-capsule scene has no romance split per se. The idea was that if your Shepard and Liara are in a relationship they consider each other friends as well as lovers.

I normally wouldn't clarify so much, but it seems to have caused worries that it's a bug. Not a bug - just somewhere it seems I really should have done a romance/no-romance split (or at least avoided the word "friend").

(Edited to fix a ridiculous typo...)

Thanks for clarifying.  I happened to import a file without any of the DLC included even though I have all of it.  That scene was the 2nd time Liara made a comment about wishing she done more when it comes to Shepard.

A a big THANK YOU for writing some great scenes with my favorite Mass Effect character outside of Shepard.

Well, I think that the scene works well even with, or possibly because of, the conspicuous use"friend"

Thanks for clarifying things.

I have a quick question if you don't mind.

If starting a 'new' romance with Liara, is the trigger point the same as officially confirming the imported romance (i.e., the talk on the Citadel) or is there something different?

Fair enough I thought this it make sence that they would be fraind amd it would be silly if she said she had been a bad lover or something like that.

I'm glad to see that you have not been scerd off by all the rage about the endings I seam to have come to terms with it and now I just want shep to live so I can head cannon it I did hear this was a possable outcome.

Yes, it's possible for *Shepard* to live, the exact conditions are a bit obscure though.

You get a mission to recover a prothean artefact on Eden Prime. You won't able to use what you find until after the priority mission.

I hear Liara has major glitches in ME3. Can someone PM what they are? (I'm making a new playthrough and I'm thinking about making Liara my LI.)

Yea, they will have more impact now.  My heart has been in my throat since Thessia when it comes to Liara.  What she said in the cabin about her mother made me feel even more for her.
