******SPOILERS INCOMING************************

I romanced Liara in ME1. Never even really TALKED to Kaiden. Rekindled with her in ME2 Shadowbroker, Little blue babies (lies...lies bioware...) and all that good stuff.

I meet her in 3. and she's all.."I havent seen you in years!" I know this is a bug. I live with it. Moving on . Reassure the newly incredibly insecure and co-dependent asari, that -YES- Still loves.

I get the scene with "FLATTERER!"..which caused -massive-daws.

Then i get the 'time capsule' cut scene..and we're back to friends town.

I'm worried my flag for romance isn't working. Does EVERYONE who romances Liara just get 'I've been a bad friend!" as a dialogue choice for this encounter?

Yeah. I wrote this earlier in the thread, but it bears repeating: The time-capsule scene has no romance split per se. The idea was that if your Shepard and Liara are in a relationship they consider each otehr friends as well as lovers.

I normally wouldn't clarify so much, but it seems to have caused worries that it's a bug. Not a bug - just somewhere it seems I really should have done a romance/no-romance split (or at least avoided the word "friend").

That was an amazing moment, really well done. It's along with Thane's last goodbye one of my favorite parts of the game.

I thought all of Liara's scenes where well done.  I think my favorite outside of Liara was with Garrus and the trip he took Shepard on.  :D  I let him win btw.  B)

"Oh Goddess, literally."  Plus the look on Liara's face.

Could some kind person PM me with some explanation of what happens to Liara and Shepard in the ending(s) of ME3? Preferably the most positive version if possible. Haven't finished the game yet but need to know before going on.

I'd love to get a fix bundled into a patch, but I'm afraid I can't promise anything. If Liara reacts properly in her investigate hub - the conversation with repeatable questions - to whether or not you completed Shadow Broker, the initial line is a one-time thing and much less likely to get targetted in a patch.

Thank you very much for communicating with us, Sylvf. Does this bug affect any other romance dialogue? Or is it just a one time misfire? The thought that I'm missing additional romance dialogue because of a bug is so depressing.  I lost my Shepard to the import bug, and she lost her chance at a life with Liara because of the endings. If I'm losing anything beyond a single line of dialogue, I might just give up on the game. There really isn't much of a reason to keep playing.

Is it a glitch with Aethyta?....Aethyta goes off at my Shep about him being Liara's boyfriend and he doesn't set her straight....my Shep has never been in a relationship with Liara, he chose the friend option in ME1...in fact he is very single, has dodged all the relationships....So does anyone know what the story is there?...Glitch?

Sylvf....would you know?

HELP FELLOW LIARA FANS!

Before I start I'll say I haven't completed the game yet.. 10 hours in. Also sorry if I derail the topic for a bit.. I'm in a Liara crisis!

Okay, so. I romance Liara in ME1, stayed faithful in ME2 then romance Liara in LotSB DLC. Now in ME3, Liara asked me if I was still interested and I said yes. I've talked to her pretty much after every mission but I've missed some. I've talked to her on the Citadel one time. Now she asked to speak about something in Shep's cabin. I invited her up but I didn't get the option to be "more than friends" as says IGNs romance guide. She just says "Your a good friend" and Shep answers "You've been there for me too"

Now after that cabin scene I have convinced Liara to talk to Aethyta on the Citadel and Aethyta refered to my Shep as Liara's "boyfriend".

So my question is, I haven't started looking at IGNs romance guide untill about 5 minutes ago and it says that I need to talk to Liara after every mission (which I didn't... I'd say most missions, some times I just do 3 - 4 missions in a row without seeing anyone) and that in the cabin scene I have to tell Liara I want to be more than friends but I never got the option to.

So did I screw up? Do I have to restart the whole game? I'm 10 hours in and my next "priority" mission is "Priority: Tuchanka" to go cure the genophage. So if someone can let me know if I screwed up and if I did, where? That be great. I really don't want to have to restart the whole game.. :(

Thanks!

Thank you for clearing that up. Liara's LI dialogue is really great. Characters like Liara are their interactions with the protagonist is the reason I always have faith in Bioware.
I get very much that they consider each other to be very good friends as well as lovers, but in a game where the romance is known to have a few bugs regarding shadowbroker imports, i felt it was best to ask if I messed something up. Thanks for the insight!

Pretty sure that IGN is wrong there (it's a gaming magazine, not a peer reviewed journal) - the writer said in this very thread that there's no romance/no-romance split of the time capsule scene.

The "more than friends" choice is after Priority: Citadel iirc.

So after romancing Liara in ME1, staying loyal through ME2, and rekindling the romance in LotSB, Shepard still has to tell her that she wants to be "more than friends?"

Yes, and it was [url=http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/325/index/7625338/663#9671098] intentional [url] if perhaps poorly worded

Since they're still "friends" this far into the series, I assume there are no "I love you's" between them.

Yes, I know, but I replayed that scene several times because of Liara's reaction to it.  "That sounds serious."

I did enjoy Shepard telling Liara some of the things I as a player was wanting my femShep to say to Liara.

Hey all! Another question:

I have recently just finished the second Priority: Citadel mission. I visited the Citadel afterwards and was able to have a cutscene convo with pretty much everyone. Met with Jack, talked with Joker and EDI in Purgatory, had drinks with Cortez, had lunch with Kaidan. However, I still couldn't initiate a cutscene conversation with Liara, and I haven't received a message from her about meeting at the Citadel yet. I'm rather concerned something went wrong. Can anyone help?

That is when I got that scene.  When I checked my messaged, I got one from Liara, Kaidan, Garrus, Javik, and Jack was there waiting for me about hanging out on the Citadel.

Did you miss an message.  That might be the trigger.

I actually only received messages from Jack and Cortez about meeting up. I didn't even get a message from Kaidan but I still was able to have that lunch scene with him.

What about with Garrus and Javik?  Where you able to talk to them?  Garrus takes you on a little trip and Javik is by the Embassies.  I got messages from all of them.  I am not sure about EDI or Vega.  Don't remember.  I did talk to EDI and Joker though.

I only got one from Jack... Talked to EDI and Joker.  Nothing from Cortez, and nothing from Liara (who i constantly check in on) or Ash.  Maybe the trigger is after a certian quest?

I don't remember which mission I completed when Traynor told me I had messages.  At least she didn't annoy me like Kelly.  Telling me have messages when I have none.

No, the three little words are said. As far as I can gather, it's only said if Shep has been with Liara since ME1; if you hook up with her only in ME3, there's no declaration of love.

It's in the beautiful pre-earth scene.

I think I'll try completing an N7 mission or two, and see if that works.
