Meh, personally i'm headcanonning the ending. For me, the game fades to black after the part with Anderson and there's a big "happy ending" showing on the screen.

That's my first reaction, Liara is going to be all alone.

I know how you feel. The real ending is just too depressing especially if you care about your LI or other characters. They made us fell in love with their chars and then this.brainless78 wrote...

But still the first part - they made us fell in love... - very good job for ME3 and all games. So we just have to imagine our own endings.
PS: Love that pic Yuqi

Yeah, you will get messages from most of your squadmates and can invite or meet them, don't worry Liara will mail you.crimzontearz wrote...

- Liara is only 109 years old, she has at least another 900 years to live. Can you imagine living for centuries alone in a jungle planet in the middle of nowhere?
- The crew will see Joker's physical state deteriorate without his meds to the point that it will perturb all of them psychologically.
- Same with Garrus, he'll starve to death.
Really sad.

That's only valid if they can't repair the Normandy. Sublight speed is enough to travel between systems, we actually do it all the time in the game itself after leaving a Mass Relay. The Asari visited Earth using sublight speed (Samara was part of the crew, ME2 info). Also, Garrus can't eat the same food, but it doesn't mean the type of food he can eat can't be found or synthetised.
Considering how resourceful Liara is, her personality (extremely pro-active) and determination, she won't stay 900 years on that planet. If the Shadow Broker/Quantum thingy communication network still work, she can enter in contact with others as well. Or she can also start a new Asari colony...
I'm actually thinking that the Mass Relay will be replaced by some Quantum thingy in the future as well. I can see the ShadowBroker having a few secret research labs for these kind of things...

Well, look at Earth - all life is L based (as far as we know by pure chance). So the local wildlife on a given planet will either be toxic Garrus, or everybody but Garrus. Also, Garrus can't eat the same food, but it doesn't mean the type of food he can eat can't be found or synthetised.
I really, really doubt that. But that's an academic issue since there's very much FTL (relays), regular FTL and slow speed achieved by conventional spacecraft (e.g. one year Earth to Mars).Sublight speed is enough to travel between systems

I take it the Liara romance parts are at least worth playing the core game? Cause that was one of the things I was totally excited about. Especially after the big tease that LotSB was.
Damn...I have the game installed on my pc since the 6th and now I am just depressed!

Yeah, no complaints there. The beginning is a bit slow but then it progresses into a very rewarding and sweet relationship. Really well done to be honest. Problem is that this kinda makes the ending even sadder!

I took the 'Synthesis' ending so I'll just pretend that they'll all be okay...that makes the ending not so crappy.
I also decided that Shepard doesn't die in that ending, but also gets transformed when jumping into the beam. Then, she wills herslf to teleport onto the Normandy beside Liara when all the space magic stuff is happening.
The reunion went something like this

except they had glowy green eyes.

It's a full ending with closure. The romance and Liara kicked ass.
The only sad thing is, that I had a very high Renegade score and couldn't choose the last Renegade dialogue. Ah well then I have to play it again and again... and again....
I did really bad things, shot Mordin, betrayed Wrex and killed him, too. I have to redo everything with a Paragon to redeem myself. :> And Romance Liara again and again and again.
Oh my god, when I shot Mordin I cryed, I can never do this again.
What a beautiful game.

I don't even think I am going to import any of my Shepard's that are not with Liara. I doubt you'll get much touchy feely scenes from either Ash or Kaidan considering they are not with you for most of the game if you have them back at all.kumquats wrote...

TOP EDIT:
I know I already have a picture, but since it on the top of the page, I want to add another one.

So, we've had a statement saying that the initial interaction is bugged and that it doesn't register your actions from LotSB, it may only be one scene but the impact of the lack of that carries on for half of the game. To top it all it "might" get patched, but probably not... really? So, my question is: If ME3 is checking the wrong state key for the LotSB romance can we add that state key to an ME2 save as well as the correct key? There are already ME2 save editors out there, if we could find out what ME3 is looking for it should be possible right?
That, and a Shep and Liara together ending would go a long way to removing the bad taste that ME3 left in my mouth.
Import from LotSB works (well, it worked for me, Liara even referenced "the blue children" once).
