I brought Liara to the Cerberus base. It was good to learn a bit more about their feelings towards Shepard's resurrection. "The moment I touched you, I knew it was you".

Oh yeah.

For those that romanced Liara, then a ME2 character, and broke up with said character to be with Liara, the game considers the ME2 romance as something that never happened. There is no reference to having had a past relationship with someone else.

They even refer to it right before the final assault to really hammer it home.

I'm currently playing as a femshep Liaramancer, not that far into the game yet, but I'm liking where its going.

Just found Matriach Atheya (sp?) and I love the renegade interupt when Atheya starts talking about Sheps history with cerberus and the matriarchs threat of a hit on Liara etc

Shepard "Its not going to happen, Nobody messes with my girl!" (or something along those lines)

Even though my shep is a paragon, it still kinda fit, since shes really protective over Liara

Well, you could always headcanon that Liara's pregnant on that isolated world.

I agree. The middle is the worst part, because even though there's nods to the romance, they aren't doing enough. They live in seperate rooms. They don't really talk about their future together, or what future they want to have together. I feel like Liara just wanted to tease me at the beginning, and then make me wait till the end. The scenes in the middle just feel like they're more designed around friendship Shepard.

As I replay a second time, I don't mind the 'friend' thing as much b/c...they are very close friends first.

Maybe I expected too much 'fluff' but that would be ridiculous in hindsight XD

TMA LIVE wrote...
And then there's the scene where I wanted to comfort Liara with a hug, and instead Shepard just gives her a speech.

I still wish we could do something there though.

But I do understand Liara wanting to focus on her work. That always felt incharacter. She wants to do more. Not just for Shepard, but for the entire galaxy. And she's working her ass off to find a solution, or to make a difference. And because of that, Shepard gets put to the side. Especially because she's a private person.

There's still room for 'Liara/Shepard alone time' and there's ample opportunity to headcanon that in.

Not sure that's better to be honest - I'd much rather have the Normandy crash on Earth or something (shot down delaying Harby as per Hacket's orders)

Well, I just feel like it's something I like about her, even though apart of Shepard might suffer from it. And maybe her as well. She has too much to do, and trying to make the best of things. And because of that, they don't get to spend that much time together. But he knows she loves him, and is willing to wait to enjoy whatever moments they can have.

I certainly don't think they spend a lot of time together...both Shepard and LIara are crazy busy (Shep = galactic peacekeeper/Reaper killer, Liara = Shadow Broker)

I just think they spend more time together then what we get to see.  But there's still the sense that the two spend most of their time apart with Liara in her office, Shepard in her war-room, office, talking to the other crew...etc.

I just see Liara as looking at a chance to go dancing, and thinking she should be doing something else to save Shepard and the galaxy. She's that much of a non-stop worker. Like during the breakdown scene. After she lost her world, the first thing she was doing next is trying to do something to make up for it.

But she still thinks of Shepard. Which is why she wanted him to be remembered for her project.

Random question, what's the Renegade version of the time capsule scene ("A soldier and a leader; one who made peace where [they] could")? I only have one import and the power of gibbed has waned.

I think it's "She was a leader who knew when to be persuasive and when to apply pressure."

I just heard it not too long ago.

The "goodbye" romance scene for Shepard and Liara that takes place before the final fight.  The ME1 LIs and Garrus get one.  I don't know if Tali also gets one.

Oh! And I thought it was like buying gifts for Ashley when she was in the hospital and was wondering how could I have missed it.

Was it because of the ending? *virtual hug*

I'm not far into the game. Just saved the Turian general and am currently doing some Citadel stuff. Was clearly flirty with Liara on Mars and then told her I wanted to continue with her when I first visited her in her office.

There were some small opportunities to acknowledge that on the Citadel. Like when you visit her in the cafe and she's all business. A sentence or two about some private stuff would have been nice. Or Shep putting his/her arm on her waist when they stand somewhere and look out over the Citadel. That would have just taken one animation and no additional dialogue

That was horrible, and one of the worst parts in the game.

*runs in*

FINALLY!!!!!  I'M BACK EVERYONE, I'M BACK!!!!  THE OVERLORDS FINALLY LET ME BACK ON OUR BELOVED THREAD!!!!!!

Now... I want to run something by you guys.  I haven't finished the game, (just started it in fact - though I did play an AWESOME mp with AlexMBrennam, Hollow, and Fdl Ananas) but I know full well how it ends up and like most/all of you I am all kinds of disappointed.

And I'm sure we're all planning to headcanon fix/change it!

Well I thought out my particular headcanon tonight and wanted to run it by you.  Keep in mind I've only watched the endings on youtube and read through the rage so I might have gotten some things wrong, feel free to correct me.

(And I'm going with the shep lives the destruction of the citadel somehow ending, where you see him/her take a breath at the very end).

So as I understand it, we lose the mass relays, but we still have ships and still have FTL technology and space flight capability right?  I mean there must be SOME Alliance ships still in tact in the Sol solar system.  So I assume Shepard gets rescued from the citadel and taken to Earth to recover.

Now for Liara and the crew.  Why does everyone think they were sucked into the mass relay and teleported some unknown and random distance from Earth and  Shep?  I thought they just got hit with the shockwave from the relay's destruction?  Isn't it possible they were just hit hard, pushed some light years, horribly damaged and had to crash down on the nearest habitable planet?

That's what I'm going with for now.  That places them either very close or on the outer edges of the Sol Solar System, easily traveled with FTL and space flight.

And I know my crew, they're a resourceful and determined bunch and I know for a fact Liara would do anything to get back to me so I'm thinking they repair the normandy (dude, its a high tech warship, it has to have lots of spare parts and whatnot on it!), at least get comms and navigation back online and are either rescued by close-by ships or are able to repair the normandy for space flight and start the trek back to Earth taking maybe weeks, or a couple months.

They get to Earth, Liara finds Shep in the hospital, romantic reunion and the rest of the crew start helping rebuild Earth!

So, plausible?  Yes or no?  Thoughts, comments?

It makes me feel better anyways.

:D

Actually, the Charon relay connects to Arcturus, which is 36 light years from Earth so it would be possible to get back to earth in a couple of days, ignoring repairs, in an ideal case. In a less ideal case, the return trip could take centuries.

The issue is that all of that would require a series of amazingly unlikely series of events (the odds of a random planet supporting any kind of life at all are astronomical since any terraforming and such would be limited to planets in the vicinity of relays, damage being repairable, Normandy crash landing close enough to Earth to get back), and the Normandy crashing is so utterly random that it feels like a player punch

^This could work actually.

Does anyone else expect there will be a high rate of ME3 trade-ins? I'm tempted to, very tempted in fact.

I donno... this game did something for me that few have - and that's make me feel something. It did a good job on that in most places, up until the end...after that I just felt...sucker punched really. Makes it hard to replay with that in mind. Bioware should have spent another year on this game, some locations felt lazy and like they burnt themselves out and wanted to get this game done and over with. While other sections ranked alongside LotSB content. *shrugs* ionno some aspects held greater potential than what Bioware gave.
Also Im a collector... have ME1 and 2 and no 3 would drive me buggy...no matter how hollow/confused the damn thing left me feeling.
