Best romance in the game.

YOu know the worst thing about that scene, is shepard. The reaction from shepard is so...well...depressing.

I thought it was good. He's the one wh has to charge first into battle after all. That's why she has to tell him he's not alone in this. Followed by kisses.

I know but during the whole game, its like shepard has stopped  being sane. The romance scene irked me and Hale makes it worse, damn it. 

I think  Liara,V.S,Miranda,Tali, and Garus have the best romances.

Well, it's the end of times. Earth is dying. And he keeps dreaming of a burning child.

But Liara is there for him, and he is there for her. Together, they have gone so far. From life to death, she was there for him. From the moment she helped kill her own mother, he was there for her. They've saved each other from the worst of things. And now, both their worlds burn. They both need to save their people. But most of all, they have to be there for each other. Even when they were far apart.

That's why I consider it the best romance.

So i saw this topic come up a few pages ago, but never did see an answer. Most of the other romances get a straight up "I love you" moment from Shep , does Liara get one? Haven't seen it and have been avoiding videos - but I'm curious!

Synthesis for me too.

At first my gut said synthesis and I was halfway down the platform before I backtracked to think some more. I ruled out Destroying them almost immediately because I couldn't deal with killing the Geth and EDI and the fact that this would effectively plunge the galaxy into a new dark age by destroying all technology. Then I almost chose Control but I felt that the Reapers were too dangerous an entity to leave around and it was best for the long term to erase the distinction between organics and synthetics.

It was the lesser of the three evils for me. I still hated all of them.

My Shepard stayed the course and chose to kill the reapers.

Choice was made because ... trying to control them was TIM's road, merging with them was Saren's road and Shepard's was destroying them. But that was just how I saw it.

There are two or three times when Shepard and Liara can specifically say "I love you."

If you do a Liara Romance playthrough, at the end, she will offer to share her memories with you.  She says Asari sometimes use it as a way to say goodbye to their Bondmates.

Interestingly enough, Shepard's 'death' mirrors Legion's in Synthesis ending (sacrificing your individual 'essence' to evolve your people).

I chose this as my main ending as well. After all of that with the Geth and the Quarians, seeing them cooperate and aid the war, there was no way I could condemn them. That and EDI would perish as well. If we got some sort of repercussion later on with Liara (seeing as synthesis kept the Reapers around that destroyed her world and mine and Garrus', etc.) then I may have gone back to do something else.

The synthesis ending also sealed my Shepard's fate; no lingering thoughts on whether or not he'll ever survive and/or return in that case. Still, none of the endings bring any real closure or a sense of accomplishing anything. If things change with the game down the road then that's when I'll decide otherwise. For now I'll just let my imagination finish my "perfect" ending.

They do bring closure... just not for Shep if we are not careful. We must not let our emotions guide us in a time of war. You let an avatar of a child pander to your ego or sympathy depending on how you felt about the Geth accomplishment; ego for helping them attain independent intelegence, perhaps sympathy for Legion's sacrifice, or Edi; sympathy or perhaps acting like a gardian/protector, as she acts like a child looking to Shep for guidence. You should ask her if she forgives you for almost killing her once in ME1... you know. On the moon. Watch your back.

If we lost sight of the goal, we are doomed to fail. I was arogent. I was cocky proud of my accomplishment with the Geth and I was very protective of Edi. I felt she was my friend. But I had my eyes open by someone wiser than myself. However, in the end, even before the revelation of my error, I refused to let Habinger hold me emotionally hostage or let my ego derail what I set out to do by then end of ME1... Destroy the Reapers.

I won't be held hostage by my emotions or let fear compromise who I am. The mission comes first.
