Well, simply put they needed someone to advance the plot, just like they needed Miranda to give a speech. Which makes me think that the deus-ex-machina resolution had been long planned by Bioware.

I didn't find it on YouTube too. Only saw Earth being destroyed, but no teammate's bodies.

Well, considering that in order to get that you need to do everything so wrong that this equals the "you get Shepard killed" in ME2, I consider Liara to be still the only crew member who cannot die on any of the games 

So.... her plot-armor failed after all...  on the last 15 minutes of the final game, after 100+ hours of ME.

I want that armor.

I don't think it failed, I mean, if you get to that point then that means the Earth and the Citadel get destroyed, Shepard and Anderson dead, and perhaps the future of the galaxy in ruins, which means that ending pretty much doesn't count . But yeah, it pisses me off anyway

Maybe not a new ending, but I'm all for the rumour of the next DLC being a two acts story in which you first need to find Shepard and then Shepard going to rescue the crew!

For me the problem with the ending is it just hangs there in the air.

Did Shepard survive? What about the crew? Was this all a dream? Was this Shepard fighting indoctrination? What the ?????

But I am keeping my fingers crossed that Bioware has a DLC to tie it all up.

Even if they don't want to explain anything and just remake the whole ending, I'll be happy. I just don't want things to remain as they're now, I want some closure, and a hint of hope. After all the stuff Shepard went, after all the sacrifice and suffering, there should be hope at the end of the tunnel. I don't care if things don't work like that in reality, this is fiction, and in fiction you can always dream! 

I don't want a removal of what they have done ... I thought that was fine except it wasn't the ending anymore than choosing whether the rachni lives or not. It was just another choice in the game. Pick a door, Shepard.

What happens really after Shep picks those doors, especially the non-fail choices? Is that Shepard on Earth taking the final breath or waking up? What happened to the crew? Is it really over? If choosing to destroy the reapers is correct, Shepard is coming awake on Earth then a DLC to show him/her coming to and fighting off the husks left and then an epilogue might be nice.

Just having the final choice fade to black if you will was a kick in the gut for me. But I loved 95% of the game.

My personal head-cannon is that this scene happen centuries after ME3 and the Shepard's Legend have been created from the information found in Liara's time capsule. I'm sure Glyph was very good at passing the information down and making some suff up for efficiency reasons...

My CE came in the mail today so I can post on the blue forums again,am on a short break.More later can't find the Volus oblisk,can't find the Shrike Abyssal cluster/system is that a bug?,On the 360.Later Gator.

If Garrus is dead then his lines are split between Liara (explaining the political situation to Vega) and General Corinthus

Yep, same with ME2, you had dialog even for Samara during Garrus recruitment mission.

If the blood is red then it's not Liara's blood.  Asari blood is blue.  I refuse to watch any vid with Liara dying or dead.  NO no no no.  NO.

I've done two runs already and seen all three choices in my first run and so far Liara is always on the Normandy.  Run I finished today has Shepard alive gasping in one breath before the credits roll.

I still would love to know what they ended up.  Make writing fan fic easier.  Hmm..

It's there.  Might not be open yet.  You'll get missions that are not open on the map yet.  They will a little later.  Shrike Abyssal is in the Terminus Systems.  Near the left corner of the map.

I did have a few areas with Reapers on the map and no system to go to.  I wonder what is up with that.  No matter, I got my Shep is alive ending.  Still sad for Liara.  I'm sorry, I broke my promise to you.  But I did save the galaxy from the Reapers.  Remember me and please move on.

Well, EDI's an infiltration unit. It would make sense for her to be able to bleed red, wouldn't it?

Thing is... it is Liara on the video, which is strange, BioWare wouldn't slip like this and make her blood red, would they?

Edit - Just saw the video again, even EDI's blood is red...

EDI's blood should be white like the Geth, I would think.  Or like Bishop from Aliens which was also a milky color.


What I like about this scene is how Liara reacts to Cerberus killing innocents.  Even though she has a high body count on her own, she still hates seeing innoncent people getting killed.  Like her reaction to the yahg and blowing up the Dracon Trade Tower.

That is what fan fiction is going to be for, I'm afraid. 

Too bad the game killed some of the work I done and made them completely AU.  <_<  I'm either going to continue down the path I've already written about or rework one story to make the ending work for me.  

Here is a question for everyone here.  Since Shepard survives or looks like it if you get that ending will Shepard still have all the implants after destroying the Reapers.  And do you still feel Shepard will live past 150?  Just throwing that out there.  Idea for my next story.  If I can work it correctly.    I do not want to write cheese, if you know what I mean.

And this is why way back in the thread I suggested people go through the dreams and pay close attention. Same with just after Harbinger almost hits Shep with the beam. Everything thereafter is Harbi... in Shep's head trying one last time to seal the indoctrination deal. No way it would have left Shep alive without trying that first.

Another minor bit of dialog I found today was from Samara; hints about being tested. And don't forget Vega... 'do you hear that music?' - Shep is a Reaper tech antenna.

I've been really paying attention for clues. I should really start writing them down.

I think that shard that Eve gives Shep may be significant as well, but I may be over anylizing. lol

As for the end. I'm fine with it now because it's not the end. The 3 choices with only one real correct one among them... the little variation... The only thing that happens from the time Shep gets hit to the time He/She wakes in the rubble (if you get that clip) is the war. The rest of it is Haringer's Dues Ex indoctrination. It's not an end when there is only one choice. To destroy the Reapers. The other choices are assimilation; exactly what the Reapers do.

It's a real possibility that the Normady scene is not real either. I think 100% tech destruction is a Habinger bluff. The fact that the Kid/Harbi says more BAD happens when Destroy is chosen (tried to claim it's virtually the end of all life in this cycle) is just an attempt to sway Shep away from it. Also, given the speed of the Crucible detonation (which is shown in slow motion, not real time), Joker would not have had time to get groundside to pick up the squad you had with you. And if he did, why leave Shep? Also - if that detonation really did that much damage to the back of the Normandy as they were trying to get away... then not one single ship in any system survived. Not one. Remember... The Kid/Harbi claims NO TECH survives. No air, no shields, no light, and the event horizon was physically damaging the Normandy. Why didn't it vaporize the people on Earth then? (If you didn't have min assests it would, but it always damages Normady no matter what.)

The only possibility at that point is He/She was really covered under rubble well and had almost no detectable lifesigns. I still think, with the excpetion of the Stargazer bit, it was all in Shep's head.

There is still much much more war to fight and a button not yet pressed on the Crucible.

Quick qn. I missed Aethyta's cameo in my playthrough thanks to not visiting Citadel between Sur'Kesh and Tuchanka.

I loaded up an old save when I realised to play through Liara and her dad's reunion conversation. Beyond the war assets I missed out on, did I miss out on further conversation with Shepard and Liara on the Normandy? Or any affect at all on the romance?

I'm really annoyed because this is my canon, completionist, faithful to Liara ManShep and I only realised quite late into the game (around the Thessia mission) hence not wanting to replay...

No talk with Liara after that.  I was hoping there was one, but there isn't.  It didn't affect my romance with her at all.  I did LOL'ed at the things said between the two.  Aethyta is too damn funny.  

"Well, you're too old to give you a damn pony."  
"You're the best day, a girl could want."  

All over asari commandos.  I ran through those lines a second time because they cracked me up so much.
