Just a quick question and one that has probably been answered somewhere here already: is it definately an unknown planet that the Normandy lands on? I'd assumed it was just another part of Earth. I know its the future, but I would imagine there might still be one or two jungles around. I know the sky was different but thought perhaps its was something to do with the blast from the cruciable.
I also still don't understand how Liara ended up in the ship when she was on the ground in London with my Shep. The Normandy is too big to pick them up so they would have had to take a shuttle up to the ship. Makes no sense why they would do that..
The Planet is unknown. I only jumped on Eden Prime for metaphorical, storytelling and location reasons.
Liara and the Ship, I think the 'in game time' vs. 'real time' is the key, to that question.
But you can pick other speculations:
- dream, hallucination, indoctrination
- beaming
- being stupid crewmates
Pick your poison.

I remember finding that terminal, and hoping I could buy Liara flowers. But no dice.

You only have to pick the right one for Ash. Kaidan only gets the booze. Working on my Ash/Jack Shep now.TMA LIVE wrote...
I really wish they had a gift system in ME3. Instead, you can only give gifts to Ash and Kaidan. And you need to pick the correct one.

Thanks kumquats for helping me decide. It was time for a broShep run.

I.. I don't know what to say... I felt like a complete Conrad... When I saw flashback of Liara's half smile.. I shed some man-tears... I broke about every promise I gave her.. god..

Nooo PCM, not your fanfictions! Theyre too awesome!! ...damnit another reason for me to despise Bioware now.
But I hear ya... Feels like a hollow empty experience now to go back. "But you succeeded! you saved the galaxy and your crew IS still alive on the Normandy on some unknown planet" ...explain to me why that should be comforting...Shepard dies...AGAIN! (its ok i kind of expected it, but i kinda hoped he/she wouldn't seeing we've all rdy died in the 2nd game but meh!) ...maybe im being selfish, but i know damn sure Shepard would have wanted better for her crew - why do that to them.
Edit: Also: I laughed like an idiot when Javik made that straight face comment about the salarians eating flies. Too funny. Not to mention the ''slightly amused' expression liara gave afterwards.
With the Shepard alive (or dying?) on Earth it makes the whole Normandy landing look like even more of an hallucination on Shepard's part. That is what is so frustrating. All I expected was a complete ending to the story.
I'm sure at some point I will get re-inspired but at the moment it was really disheartening the first time I experienced the "game's ending". Is that what Bioware was going for? Is this what they thought would be a wonderful payback to their fanbase? That is why I have to believe that they have something up their sleeve.
I'm keeping the faith.

You saved the galaxy, but had to sacifice yourself to do it. Shepard said that to the idiots on Earth before the attack. IMefistos989 wrote...

The ending gutted me, but it hasn't made me quit playing.
It's scenes like this that keep me playing and I want to see the differences in my Shepard. All are different in their own way.

@PMC
BW knew the ending was going to ****** people off and they did it anyway. I'm not mad or pissed about it. It did turn my fanfic into fubar, but I am working on something that makes sense and isn't cheesy. I think that is one of the reason the ending hit me as hard as it did. That and Leia lied to Liara about always coming back. I think by the end of the game, Liara knew Shepard might not come back.

Unless there's a "rescue your crew" DLC I will not know what to think. I don't know why they made you promise to her about always coming back in LotSB just to make Shepard break that promise in a thousand parts during the next game.

mesh better with future plans for DLC (even though im pretty sure one of those dev's said there would be no post campaign stuff..)
Is there a source for that? wow, if that's the case ME3 will be my biggest entertainment disappointment ever.

then again i also stumbled across a twitter post (more recent) of some random origin that says something different. ^.o
And no im not talking about the "There are no happy endings because there are no endings." one, although that one holds a bit of hidden meaning too i think? or maybe it was just an attempt to console disappointed gamers.
The whole lack of harbinger also gets me too, i mean a cameo at best? ... *shrugs*
Anyways heres a pic, you wake up from dreamstate to find yourself in this blue asari's arms - ill go with it.

I think any quotes early on should be ignored ... even Casey Hudson admitted that some of his earlier statements were false due to changes in development. Hopefully, Bioware will hear the "sadness" in the Mass Effect fanbase and respond with a DLC if it was not already in the works or wings.
Given how so many felt deflated by the end due to lack of a proper "end" they might realize that Shepard deserved better if she was truly succesful in destroying the reapers and saving the organics. As the ending stands now it feels like some B horror movie leaving confusion for an opportunity to have a sequel called "Frogs Attack II".
Maybe that is what they were hoping for. An opening to bring Shepard back if the $$$ was there.
My head hurts now ... need more wine!

Normally, I'm a very negitive type person at times. But for some reason, I'm not angry or mad about the ending.PMC65 wrote...
@ladyvader ... I wish I were mad or angry at the ending instead of so disappointed and empty. Yes, I could move the story forward after seeing Shepard alive on Earth but since this was supposedly the final moment for Shepard this is what they did? I didn't need to see Shepard & Liara holding hands ... I just wanted to see Shepard either die and then show an epilogue on the cast or see Shepard pull herself from the rubble and come stumbling back to her crew with that beaten but smiling face. Something. Oh, well. An excuse to order wine with lunch! : )
I don't like it, but to me it is fitting. The only thing that still bugs me is that Leia lied to Liara. That hurts. That is the Shepard I write my stories from.
Anyone have any theories about the 3rd dream with the boy running into Shepard's arm then they both start burning. I still have no idea what the is suppose to mean.

I'm still convinced Harbinger was the kid. By the way, this ME was strange in the sense there was no main identifiable antagonist to Shepard. In ME1 we had Saren, in ME2 the Collector General, but in ME3 we were just fighting against an amalgam of machines known as the Reapers without an identifiable face.

As I type this, I wrapped up my first ME3 file.... apparently I did something right because Charlie is alive!!
Rest of galaxy is screwed.........but she WILL find Liara!
But....isn't Shep bleeding out on the Citadel? O_O

You are okay with the Normandy getting stranded?

I thought it was meant to suggest perhaps that Shepard has a hidden desire to perhaps just settle down and have a familie, but that the Reaper invasion might undo that and in the end, demand his life.
