I don't like it, but to me it is fitting.  The only thing that still bugs me is that Leia lied to Liara.  That hurts.  That is the Shepard I write my stories from.

You are okay with the Normandy getting stranded?

Anyone have any theories about the 3rd dream with the boy running into Shepard's arm then they both start burning.  I still have no idea what the is suppose to mean.

I thought it was meant to suggest perhaps that Shepard has a hidden desire to perhaps just settle down and have a familie, but that the Reaper invasion might undo that and in the end, demand his life.

For some weird reason, I'm okay with it.  I know my friends and loved ones are safe, which is what Shepard really wanted for them and the reason she was fighting so hard.

That theory works.  Too bad Leia's dream it should have a blue child not the human one.

Maybe if you trust this child, you will probably dead or you can't save all, but you must choose choice of sacrifice some "people".

Which is why I find this ending insulting. Yes, Liara and the rest of the crew survived. But they are stuck on a planet with no means of escape. There is not enough of them to start a viable colony and Garrus and Tali are screwed.

Would have been much better if they crashlanded somewhere on Earth and could help rebuild it.

I think that would also be more appropiate in my Shepard's case.

Kinda sad they did not take advantage of the fact that the last nightmare scene happens after the romance, could have been used for far greater dramatic effect.

Why couldn't we hug Liara the way Joker and EDI hugged right at the end?

And yeah, that final nightmare sequence, I was expecting a little blue kid to run up to Shep, 'cause of the hugging and all that.

Hugging, why couldn't we hug Liara? Hugged Tali when dad died, check. Hugged Liara when homeworld got steamrolled by Reapers..... uhh...

Yeah, not being able to comfort her after Thessia sucks....Shepard touching her bed doesn't count.

Does anyone else see that kids face becoming the new troll face icon? I do. lol.
Ionno the endings would have been fine - except the whole Normandy thing, Lack of Harbinger, And the destruction of all relays in ALL endings. Something about those do not compute. Otherwise, it was fine. Crew is ok? Good, Galaxy Saved - bonus. Shepard's dead...not thrilled but im ok with it, even though i would have loved the option to live to see the fruits of my labor but whatever i get it - heroes can't survive their own stories...EVER.. for some reason - depressing. -.-

Also, not really Liara related but it made me laugh - which i need considering ME3 *sighs*

To be perfectly clear.
I don't need to see an ending I want..
I want to see an ending that will do Shepard and my 5 years of commitment justice. Am I asking too much?

Back on topic
I like how many scenes and dialogues Liara got in ME3. Also, wrex's comment on our relationship made me laugh so hard! :-) pure gold..

Frankly, Liara is the best LI and friend in the series. I don't know if I should praise Bioware for not including "sunshine and flowers" ending with her, or I should damn them all for not including it.

My brain needs some calibration. Someone please call Garrus...

I agree there.  It would have been more dramatic if that was an asari child if that is what BW was thinking when they created the dreams.  Not sure.

I really think at that point in the game, Shepard really didn't think she was going to survive.  Liara's talk helped, but not by much.  Or how I am headcanonning it right now.  I might write something to extend the cabin scene with more dialogue than we got in game.

That makes some sense too and don't worry.  Not everyone here has English as their first language.

The only tweet that I am hoping has any real hint towards the "Shepard was fighting indoctrination" and that a DLC is forthcoming is a very recent tweet by Michael Gamble ‏@GambleMike
"Hardest. Day. Ever. Seriously, if you people knew all the stuff we are planning...you'd, we'll - hold onto your copy of me3 forever. "

I really believe that the story is not over ... not yet.

Now that's tremendously adorable!

How is everybody doing?

I am kinda losing faith in theories about better endings... Plus got relock bug in multiplayer today and all my stuff and char-s unlocked during 22h of playtime went to what we call in my country "land of eternal hunting..." Bummer!

Wow...that looks like it took work to do.

Shepard was breathing last I saw her dangit! Breathing and in London but where does that put Liara & Ash? Are they dead? Did only Shepard survive that final push?

I am not putting too much hope into it.  I'll probably get all the DLC anyway.  At least story driven DLC.  Not sure about new armor/weapons like I got with ME2 or DA2.

I never romanced Liara, but before I learned of the endings, I wanted to start another playthrough of all the ME games just to romance her, but now I have no desire at all.

I guess Ashley will forever be my only romance for male shep, from ME1 to ME3, anyways.

I agree. Shepard's death is already sad enough (I'm always coming back :crying:), but I would like the ending much better if Liara could return to Thessia...using her influence to help the rebuilding effort. Tali could return to Rannoch, Garrus to Palaven, etc.

The romance shouldn't be different between broShep and femShep and I think the romance was perfect.  You can tell on Mars they were a couple.  Now I am playing with my broShep with Ash then Jack and it was different on Mars.  The little differences are very telling.

I liked the second nightmare where Shepard was haunted by the whispers of the dead. Hearing Ashley's last words over and oer again was actually chilling in my opinion.

Anyway I felt Bioware missed an opportunity in the last nightmare.

Imagine if it starts like usual. Shepard finds himself in the forest, and a child appears in front of him. This time however the child is more formless in the start and seems to have a girl instead of a boy. Shepard begins to chase the child once again (the child also seems much more happy in this nightmare, laughing and such).

As Shepard catches up, the child runs towards a couple. Revealing to be Liara and Shepard, Shepard stops and stares longing at the scene.

However, the iconic Reaper sound soon pieces through the dream. And in the distance a Reaper destroyer can be seen. Shepard is frozen in horror as a laser beam slowly crawls towards the family. Turning them to ash. Dream ends as it reaches Shepard.

Just an idea I had.

I really think at that point in the game, Shepard really didn't think she was going to survive.  Liara's talk helped, but not by much.  Or how I am headcanonning it right now.  I might write something to extend the cabin scene with more dialogue than we got in game.

I don't think that Shepard physically was ever on the Citadel ... TIM & Anderson were all in her mind. A angel & devil if you will. She was struggling to keep her own identity. But until Bioware has a reveal we are all speculating.

For some reason I can't romance liara with a male shep *shrugs* sounds half ass'd. Something about hale just...puts it right. Meer sounds better with his lines in regards to the V.S or Lawson romance, but maybe thats just my own bias coming through.

Just a theoretical question to everyone in this thread. Lets say that Liara and the Normandy did not end up being stranded on the nameless planet in the ending (instead they just crashlanded on Earth), if so...

How would you people react if the very last scene of the game, instead of being with an old man and his grandchild. Instead was with Liara talking with her young daughter?

Would have made the ending way more bearable in my opinion.

I would have loved this. I've never been one for head canon, but the ending of ME3 has me head canoning a little blue child so darn hard.

There seems to be alot of people wanting to headcanon it that way in this thread.

Can't say I blame them, given that I am tempted to do it myself.

It seems to make sense.  At least to me anyway with Liara being pregnant at the end.  I have yet to do a non-romance with Liara so I don't know what the difference is with the gift.  I do know there is a difference if you romanced her but didn't do the LotSB.  You don't get the blue children line.  The gift part where Liara and Shep kiss is the same.

After playing the ending again yesterday.  I think at this point, Liara knows there is a good chance she isn't going to see Shepard again.  I feel guilty about breaking my promise to her.

I have always taken Liara with me for the race to the beam and Liara has always been on the Normandy during that scene.

I have a feeling that Bioware had no such intention with these scenes given their stance.

Won't stop me from wanting to believe it though, that and ignoring Liara being stranded on an uncharted planet.

Although I'm biased and would like to think it were so, it would only happen if you had the ME2 blue children dialog flagged. And for Liara to follow through if Shep is alive, I'd think it would be best to ask before 'commiting' the DNA randomization process. Some players don't want blue kids for headcanon reasons. If Shep is dead, well then it's Liara's call.
