Oh come on! Give Liara some creds!

She'd bio-punch the two Js into the next jungle tree if they'd try to make their advances.
And continue to look for a way back to earth and Shep.

In know these are bleak times, but at least we can try and fill the holes with optimism.

And godess knows that's a lot of space to fill ... :(
(I seriously don't know which smiley is more appropriate here, I think I'm becoming a bit shizophrenic over this all )

Kind of hope there is eventually some fan art of Femshep and Liara being married with Garrus as best man, with a tuxedo pattern painted onto his armour obviously.:)

If only I could draw :(

Romance scene is just perfect, but as always Mass Effect lacks the romance build up or flirting.
I mean the kiss on the cheek was a good start, but why stop there?

I was hoping for a bit more during the after-Thessia talk.

Hugs or something.  cuddling

I was not a huge fan of Shepard deciding to make a speech instead of actually comforting Liara. It just felt so cold.

Yeah, I hated that. There's a lot about the middle that feels like Shepard and Liara should've acted more close, but are oddly distant.

What happens if you don't do the interrupt?

Haven't seen anyone answer this question yet, sorry if this is duplicate.  It's sort of heartbreaking if you don't do the paragon interrupt, Liara just sort of crumples up on the bed saying that she wishes there was something she could do to help.  Shep just says something like "I Know" and then leaves Liara curled up in a ball on the bed. So sad. :(

Fortunately I did the paragon interrupt on my real playthrough...just re-loaded later to see how the scene played out without it.

For canon femShep, she doesn't mind Liara keeping an eye on her.  She has nothing to hide.  Traynor never got to take a shower.  They only  played chess.

Hah! My tactic would totally have worked in real life. classic.

I let Traynor have her shower, poor girl was lost. Although 5k credits for a new toothbrush.... yeah....

Y'know I was worried the other option for the shower was jumping straight to the funny business, the paraphrase was That's it, or something similar. Last time I tried that with the Consort I jumped straight into that little space capsule with her. Although that was before Liara, so it was fair game.

There may have been Kelly.... Thank goodness Liara didn't have spycams on the Normandy then... May have led to some very awkward questions. But she had been acting all cool at me before! Until I helped her become the Shadow Broker...

Then I made a promise.. A promise the cosmos itself conspired to prevent me from keeping. :(

Until an Ion cannon vaporizes Prothy. Joker would have EDI at any rate. He should know better than to mess with his Captain's girl.

In my 2nd run, the one I had SB DLC included, Liara did say goodbye.  The more I think about some of the scenes at the end plus the ending the more I believe Liara knows there is a chance neither one of them is walking away.

What do you think of Aethyta now?  I know you didn't think too highly of her after meeting her on Illium.

Still not a fan ... I just don't like the character. But that leaves plenty of in-law jokes so thats a win. Image IPB

A chance. It's the possibility that they may never see each other again, and I'll be damned if I don't tell the people I love that I love them, and say goodbye, just in case. It's a natural reaction, it doesn't mean it's the certainty of dying. Shep went to the centre of the galaxy and returned, with Liara on her mind. The Reapers? They should be like a flesh wound.

Or maybe it's some sort of twisted reverse logic, if they never exchanged those  "I love you"'s, they may survive!

Well, now I think I might be able to write Aethyta into what I write next.

She says plenty of things that crack me up.  At least she admitted she was wrong about Benezia.  And at 1000 years old she still doesn't know crap.

I just don't like her ... but it actually makes the relationship a little more funny to me. As I said, in-law jokes.

Shepard still encouraged Liara to talk to her "dad" and it made the dialogue between Shepard & the Matriarch feel more real with them threatening each other. I like that I don't like the chick. When I renegade her it feels in line with my desire to pistol whip her. But Shepard would never tell Liara how she feels.

If you love the character that's cool.

Another question for those who know...does the box/archive/database scene in Shep's cabin play out any differently for romanced Liara vs. non-romanced Liara? I've only done it w/a romanced Liara, and just wondering if it's different at all.

Thought it was a beautiful scene, regardless.

I'm an Aethyta fangirl, I love her and Benezia as a couple lol

But everyone is different, I am just happy they confirmed it because lots of people I have came across thought it wasn't real and Aria was her father etc

I would want Liara to find comfort and she may decide to have a child .... who is her options? Joker and Liara both loved Shepard so they might find comfort with each other after years together on that island. Heck, they might even have a child and name it Shepard, who knows.

That is another reason that I hated that Gilligan's Island ending. Shepard's under rubble and they are lost? How is that a final end to the trilogy? That would have been great for part 2 but not for part 3. They left Han frozen and Leia with Luke and called it an ending?

Liara's project? Works out the same no matter your relationship with her.

I am sure someone else has noticed this, but in the final romance scene for Shepard and Liara, the dialogue greatly varies depending on whether or not Liara was your love interest in ME1 or just ME3. If she was your LI in the first game, she will take the great leap in declaring she loves Shepard, and you can response in kind. However, if you only romanced her in the third game, she only says she's glad she is there, and Shepard can only respond that he cares a great deal about her. This is a prime example of great storytelling, and why Liara's romance scene is considered by a lot of people to be the best. It demonstrates that this relationship has been building since they first met in ME1.

Well I only played an imported Shep, but I do think this is one of the better examples of ME 3's great storytelling, yes. But that was also one of the more painful I love you's I've seen in a while...

My femShep would do something like that, jib.  The walk would be in a park.  Liara can tell Shepard more about Benezia or her talk with Aethyta.  Shepard  can tell Liara about growing up a spacer with her parents in the Aliiance Navy.

That is a miss opportunity as well.  I so much wanted to talk to both of them after the coup.  Aethyta is gone.  I do hope she made it out okay and you never talk to Liara about it.  She never mentions it.

It shows another fail in the game... Aethyta best not be dea dor Bioware will deal with a pissed off Fangirl >:I

It's unlikely she was killed in the attack. However speculative this may be, she runs that commando unit she gave to her daughter and is herself extreamly powerful... not to mention half Krogan, at least in atitude. Also, talk to the Asari in the hospital after you give her the amp interfaces. They are for Aethyta's commando unit.

Well, if there ARE only those three in the ship and there IS no way to get off the planet (hey, when a green light can turn all life into cybertech why should it be impossible to repair the Normandy) and there WON'T be any outside help then I'd think Liara and the others would be much more concerned with raw survival than with the production of blue babies that have very little future.

And in any other event I don't see why Liara has to end up with Joker and why a reunion with Shep would be impossible.

Not that this makes anything of what we've been given any better, but if BW wants us to interpret the endings ourselves, we might just as well take that opportunity :)
