I'm so torn... Just finished Thessia and Alice is still reeling from the loss, snapping at everyone. So in that sense, she wouldn't be in the state of mind to console Liara. But the idea of not doing that just breaks me in half...

Well I just ran through both options and they're each missing "something."  
Since obviously I'm not gonna get to play it out the way I want to, I think headcanon will be:
- Yell at Joker
- Read Kai Leng's taunt
- Throw things
- Go to Garrus, get pep talk about using my bottled up feelings to kill Kai Leng
- Suck it up
- Talk to Liara and try and make her feel better

I had romanced her in ME1, but...

For me, ME3 made me like Liara more than I already did, because her face
and facial expression were prettier and more realistic, and her scenes
with Shepard are so touching and sentimental.  I haven't even played her
ME3 romance yet, but she had some really beautiful friendship scenes.

Yea, i was using the word "imagination" in a mocking tone... I always pay money to other companies to use my own mind.

Traynor shows up after the first dream sequence shortly after visting the council the first time?  I think?  Liara comes in to tell you about the turian dealings - all buisness and than if you paragon you can talk to her about...stuff when your comm's officer walks in.

Liara rescuing Shepard's remains for the Lazarus project, read the Mass Effect redemption, comic, BioWare explains the ME2 backstory there.

And I do not regret letting Traynor use Shepard's shower ... just wished that there was a way to play without pay but apparently - nope. So Shepard just gets to watch.

Re Traynor: I think the romance comes out of nowhere - Shep's with Liara, and somewhat nice to Traynor, and she acts like there's a serious romance? I'd buy a scene like Jack's, but this?
