I'm starting to wonder about this; Anderson's words are haunting me... "Pick your team well, Shepard."

The way I see it, two squadies are expendable, with one not actually getting dead. Edi can lose the mech without dieing and Javik... well, let's just say I'd rather see him die in battle than commit suicide.

Your LI show's up in the Normandy scene regardless, (why I don't put much salt in it being real.) so that does not mean they are dead or alive, it's just Shep's subconscious hope. I do think Anderson may live based on EMS; getting pulled out of the area by the beam, maybe. EMS could play into a lot of things; even parts of the final cut scene seem to be affected even though it's a hallucination. I still don't think any of that cut scene happens in the real (game) world.

I'm also starting to wonder if; as some in the indoctrination thread pointed out, that the shuttle to Anderson's camp actually crashed and Shep is trapped in that ship; thus the creaking noises before the 'breath'. Can't be the citadel/crucible because that would equal Spaced or blown up based on choice (if it were real); no atmosphere.

Harbi doesn't broadcast his identity via IFF so how the hell would Hackett know it was Harbinger heading to earth. lol

Also, I don't think any LI/Squadies dead/living flags have been found in the save game editor, have they?

I'll have more info on post LI results when I finish this playthrough tonight.

There was a deleted scene apparently where when Shepard is running to the conduit you look back, see one of your teammates fall, and when the other helps them up they get blasted by harbinger. They cut this however, so I'm not so sure if they actually die.

Another thing I want to add. There's no way Shepard would survive the blast from the beam, then the explosion of the Citadel and then the fall to Earth.

I saw that scene and I'm glad it got cut. Though considering the ending we got I dare say it doesn't matter since the ending is still crap...

I'd say the merciful thing to do if your shepard is going to get him/herself killed is making sure Liara doesn't survive either. I don't think she could handle another 'Shepard dies' situation. This time it'd be for keeps as well and she'd know it.

Yes it does actually.

It is mostly the cabin scene at the end and the end game talk.

No DLC:
Liara:You mean so much to me.
Shepard:I love you, Liara T'Soni.
Liara:I...I love you too.

Liara doesn't mentioned the blue children being disappointed.  I did not recored the ending to the game, I was lucky to have a save before going after the Cerberus base.  So, I don't remember exactly what she says, about having something five minutes from now.  I think it is the same line she gave my friend broShep.

With DLC:
Liara:I love you, Shepard.
Shepard:I love you too, Liara.
Liara:Show me.

Then at the goodbye scene Liara mentions the blue children being disappointed she didn't have a speech.  With Shepard responding that they'll have to make a good one up for them.

There is a difference, which I think the writers did perfectly.  Both of these runs were with my canon femShep, Leia.  I used the end game file from ME2's first run with no DLC at all included.  Then I went back and did my canon run that was a 100% completed import from the other two games. 

I have the DLC included scene posted on YouTube.  Suppose I should edit the one without and post that one too.

I love the fact that is was Liara that reached over and grabs Shepard's hand.  Very touching scene.  I'm trying hard to not be bias, but I think there was more of a connection between Shepard and Liara's cabin scene than the one with Ash.  Maybe I need to redo it and record it so I can watch a few times.  I don't even know if I want to bother with Kaidan

@ladyvader, I don't know if I have the heart to read A Family Vacation, I was just a couple of paragraphs in and.... *sigh*

I'll start my actual canon playthrough now. This game lasts only up to the Cerberus base. After that the Reapers just pull out, because it makes as much sense as the actual ending does.

Yep. He's too busy messing with Shep's head to chit chat. I'm sure if/when; the DLC tie-up with Shep pretty much resistant to indoctrination with the Destroy choice, those two will have a few yelling matches before the Crucible is really activated... unless of course someone really did get through and hit the 'button' before Shep is rescued.

By the time Shepard wakes up from his/her hallucination/indoctrination, Liara is sitting next to him/her and tells Shepard the Reapers were beaten and a shuttle is on the way to pick them up. 

This ending is leagues above what we currently got, even if I do say so myself:blink:

I still don't buy the indoctrination theory, not in it's entirety anyway. It makes sense in a way that Harbinger was messing with Shep's mind, but if that was the case they didn't make it obvious enough, and they didn't make the end where your crew gets stranded obviously a dream, so I'm not sure what to think.

I do however think Bioware has DLC up their sleeve that will explain the endings on some way shape or form (hopefully) and if they haven't planned it already, they probably are now with the backlash against them. I just really want to believe Bioware has an Ace up their sleeve and they didn't just do a video game version of the ending from Contact
