Aye! Even ParaShep approves of this! We've come too far, just to fall at the final hurdle.

I think a very important point to remember here is that the asari culture (as I understand it at least) is very much about beauty (not exactely what I mean, but can't think of a better word atm), diplomacy, philosopy, knowledge and a sense of being almost devinely untouchable.cohina wrote...

Okay I'll be honest on this one. Even though it's understandable Liara
is greatly upset over the loss of Thessia, she blows it out of
proportion. Both Earth and Palavan have been hit MUCH harder than
Thessia yet Liara pretended the entire Asari race was finished when
Thessia fell. Don't get me wrong, I still love Liara as much as ever and
it wouldn't be in her character if she acted indifferent to the loss of
her original home, but she could've held back a little. Like I said
it's not like the Asari got the worst of it...
One other thing I've been thinking, which is kinda related to this, is that why it was so terrible when asaris got reaperfied, when at the same time, we've killing husks i.e. reaperfied humans (and later on cannibals = batarians and marauders = turians and stuff) for 3 years. So turning humans into husks wasn't a big deal, but asari are?
I think most asari see their people as the head of galactic society. Not necessarily in disrespect of other races but like parents watching and guiding their children.
And in that context it's very likely that Liara and other members of her species take a particularly hard psychological hit when they see that before the reapers they are just as helpless as all other races and their pursuit of higher goals was more or less in vain ...
Haha, yes, that's a quite severe problem here.cohina wrote...
And for the rest of the thread, STOP MOVING SO GOD DAMN FAST, I GOTTA SLEEP & STUDY SOMETIMES, AND UR MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP UP.
A while back I tried to introduce new Terms of Conduct that would have alleviated the problem for at least some of the people here (namely karmensandiego and me:whistle:) but somehow it wasn't a big success and I had to flee from people trying to poke me with torches and pitchforks

Threw this together this morning,
thought you guys might want to see it. I don't have Photoshop or a
tablet so I had to do it in MS Paint and with a mouse.![]()
Basically
it's what I want to happen at the end of the game with my imagination.
Liara is there with Shepard in the final battle, the Reapers are dead,
it's a happy ending and lots of little blue children in the foreseeable
future!
*snip*
And never give up hope!

Hey FdL_Ananas, mind if I post this here? I can link it otherwise. But this... this I love...
(And nice to see it again, haven't looked at this stuff for sooo long now)
Which reminds me, I plan to continue this WP series now that ME3 is out.
So if any of you have good quotes from Liara (or any ME3 character really) that you would like to see as a wallpaper of this style, please feel free to tell me

Good point. I never thought it that way. Perhaps it can also be that in human history, we're (not exactly a correct way to put it but anyway) used to killing and fighting each other (have no idea when was the last time the asari had a large scale civil war/war between two asari factions or something like that, or have in some other way been killing each other in large numbers), and we've also done a lot of horrible things to other humans. So maybe it's not really a surprise or unexpected for us, that the enemy who's goal is to wipe us out completely, would do those horrible things to us, when we ourselves have done somewhat similar things to our own species.

The deleted scene, was sensibly deleted.
Bioware could try to spin it all they like, but killing off two squadmates for no good reason other than Reaper, is bs. Also if people brought along their two favourite squaddies, namely Garrus and Liara, the outrage on the internet would make the ending furore seem like a drop in the ocean.

Or one of those playful lines, "She respects your privacy, unlike me" (I forget the exact phrase).
Hand holding scene ftw. It's too cute.

And the same would be true for military people like the turians and (need I say it) krogan.
Even the salarian seem to be quite power and conflict focused, even though in a much more intellectual and "sneaky" way ...

I think most people enjoyed plunking her in that armour. I'm using her.. Cerberus kit this time round. I think it gives 25% recharge time. Ye gods, biotic spam on the way!
I can't put her in the Justicar kit for some reason...she looks too... scary.

How about the very playful response 'Oooh! That sounds serious!" when Shepard expresses his/her wish to spend the rest of his/her life with Liara. I loved that response tbh.

Shepard holding Liara's hands, little speech... things(bubbles really shouldn't work here) coming from either side.
Brilliant!
I vote femshep first! broshep has his pick of nubile young women to seduce.

The Shepard-Liara story was so important to me, I felt like the open ending allowed me to write my own ending, in the way I needed to for my story. That's what I felt ME was all about--my choices, so given the limits of game hardware coding, the Bioware devs gave me the only ending they could that alllowed me to finish the game in the emotional way I needed to. I wrote the coda.
And that coda is a cosmic Shep able to find Liara on New Eden, and stay with her. And "shepherd" the new evolution on New Eden. It worked. For me.
IMHO, the only truly cosmic, eternal, timeless love is Shep and Liara. I'm good.

I don't think that would necessarily be the case if:
1) You could avoid those deaths by not bringing your faves.
2) The ending was better.
