I bought the flowers and the chocolates (hospital) but was never been able to 'give' them to anyone. Is that option not available with a romanced Liara? Does it happen at a certain point? If so and I have the stuff, I must not be hitting the trigger 'visit' point even though I visit everyone after missions... Easy to miss stuff in a game this size I guess.

It doesn't.

Though, you can pretend you gave them to Liara if you wish.

I asked Sylvf if you can get back with Liara, even if you broke up with her at the beginning of ME3, and she said no. Guess I'm going to have to redo my Renegon one day, and not romance Liara in ME1 in order to get the version of the romance I wanted.

That sucks.

Part of me wants to replay the whole trilogy...then part of me remembers the ending and doesn't want to bother.

Holy crap!

The dialog with Hackett on Cerberus changes as you get further into the game. I just asked Hackett about it after Pavlin and Shep is confident and her voice steady. Instead of 'what if he's right' she says 'it won't stop him from trying.' in regards to controlling the Reapers.

I think I know why the wheel has no neutral dialog now. In repeatable conversations, there has to be a chitton of alternate responses based on Shep's mental state as the game progresses. I'll have to explore this more to test it.

Blue love!

*snip*

I don't remember much from Hackett's talk about Cerberus. Only his very vicious talk about the Illusive Man.

"Kill him! That's an order"

I can about see Ladyvader smiling when that scene came along:whistle:

Also I missed a lot of stuff, Aethyta being among them. Also I never found flowers or an asari book anywhere to give to Liara. If I ever do a 2nd playthough I'll have to be more careful looking around on the citadel early in the game I reckon.

What? I could only buy some kind of wine or brandy or w/e it really was. I later gave it to Kaidan in hospital as a token of friendship. Never really felt right having him on board since he still showed he doubted Shepard for working with Cerberus, I hoped that would've cleared the air.

Liara doesn't say much in the Renegade path, just agrees with what Shepard says.
The response to: I love you Shepard, didn't make any sense at all!

It depends on who survived Virmire, on my playthrough I could buy flowers and chocolates for Ashley, instead of wine.

I'm going through a similar problem right now, I have a lot of free time in my hands until June but I don't want to replay the trilogy unless there's a DLC that changes the ending. Some parts (like promising Liara you're always coming back) would be heartbreaking.

I enjoyed Ash and Kaidan. They didn't become BFFs with Shepard again after one talk.
And speaking of which.
I was wondering if Liara has a banter with Ashley on the Normandy, like she has with Kaidan?

Never saw Liara and Ashley speaking in the Normandy. What's her banter with Kaidan about?

Something like, pushing or pulling people around with biotics, is a decent attention grabber.

Sadly, I only saw her one time leaving her room, to have a drink with Garrus. She is a workaholic, alright...
(Didn't count Javik's cutscene.)

I loved how in that scene she had a lit cigarette in the ashtray in front of her while he had a flask in his hand. It fit a chapter that I wrote (unpublished) for a future insert. I couldn't stop laughing and wondered if Bioware had peeked into my PC while I was sleeping.

I totally missed the cigarette.  I was just so surprised to see the two of them sitting down and chit-chatting that the Reapers could have been attacking outside the window and I wouldn't have noticed.

You talk to Liara in the Citadel (she's in Apollo's cafe), tell her to relax a little, she tells you about the Volus and then you go to the bank sector of the presidium and talk to him. Aethyta will be there next time you load the Presidium map.

Exactly. Or: -> Dear Renegade Shepard, take a hint from Garrus. He knows how to Renemance Tali.

Yeah, the dialogue didn't make any sense. It's like Shepard knows that after a whole game, she gets laid in the end.
Totally ruins the mood of that scene. >.<

I kept imagining Liara trying to take Shepard's attention away from the cig as she whispered under her breath to Garrus, "Oh, goddess ... Shepard doesn't know I smoke."

Oh, and nephew just completed the game and called me in total devastation over the ending. He even did what I did ... replayed the last two choices thinking he did something wrong. When I asked who came out of the Normandy after he asked if the two teammates with him died he said "no one ... it just burned up." Poor kid. He was almost in tears. Yep, Bioware made the best endings. Posted Image

If that's the worst thing she has to hide from Shepard, then it's really no big deal.

Alternatively Renegade could have done a "teasing" kinda thing along the lines of "doesn't everyone?" or something like that. A little of the the Han Solo egotistical "I know" magic.

Had to come here because posting in another thread gave me LotSB feels. Does anybody else really love walking through Liara's apartment? I found it to be probably the most endearing moment of the whole mission. Just look at the things she has on display. She's got her degree and her Prothean artifacts, basically her whole life prior to ME1, and the rest of it is all Shepard. The painting of Ilos, the picture of the Normandy, Shepard's armour (seriously, she recovered Shepard's body, AND armour AND tags. She didn't stop until she had all of you back.) I know rooms in games are never chock full of intricate items, but it was a great unobtrusive way of showing how much Shepard means to her. I can't remember playing through it as MaleShep, but FemShep's dialogue really adds to it. She doesn't say much, but what she says is in a hushed, almost reverent tone, like she's thoughtfully considering what all this stuff means. They did a great job making a pretty simple scene meaningful.

What?? Liara smokes? How I've missed that? :o Only thing I noticed was that there were smoking cigarettes in the ashtrays all the time, even when there were no one in the lounge...

And PMC, you must be a really cool aunt for your nephew to have. I mean, how many of us can talk about Mass Effect with their aunts :D.

It would be awkward to have slept with Liara's father.. I don't see any explaining that one.

What Shepard first should have said to Aethyta in ME3.
"Guess it was a good thing we met when the bar was clean! ;)"
