I always say the option for it never killed anyone. Really, it cannot kill anyone to have the option for one ending, as it doesn't invalidate anything else.

But like the rest of us have been saying, Liara may use a biotic choke on Joker if they really cut and run during the fight. No way they'd just leave Shep to die there.

bittersweet and better than what ME3 fans got.
Im not asking for an ending fix. Im not asking for a hollywood ending for this series or even a sunshine and bunnies one - i knew damn well shep had a high risk of dying (i dont agree with it being the ONLY option, but i could work with it). Im asking for an ending that makes sense like most other successful stories have and isnt four random (pretty close to nonsensical) cutscenes shoved together with no preludes as to why theyre there along with fine print at the bottom that says "interpretation sucka!" and fades to black. Good endings (no matter the stuff involved) dont leave me sitting for a half hour blinking, twitching, unable to explain what the hell just happened.

You still have hope for a better ending?  I'm not.  I can work with the ending giving.  I don't think everything needs to have a Hollywood type ending.  It ruined Lord of the Rings for me with that happy BS ending that was not in the book.

I can work with the ending for my fic purpose.  Which is all the matters to me.  I don't hate the ending to ME3.  To be quite honest, I think it is a very fitting ending.  Liara tells Shepard farewell.  Even she knows they might not walk away from this final fight.  If your Shepard dies, then s/he didn't walk away.  If you picked Control of Syngery, Shepard isn't coming back either.  Only destroy gives you hope that Shepard might have lived.  Key word is might.  One gasp for air is all we got.  

Like I said, I can work with it.  I started a new fic based off the ending yeterday.  It's going to be a slow process to get this story written, but I think I can make it work and not be super cheesy.

The two things that don't make sense(does if you think Shepard is dreaming) is why is the Normandy in FLT flight and how did the squad get back?  Those are the two things I am changing for my fic.  Well, the Normandy is gone, but the squad is still on Earth.  Only way it makes sense to me.  I don't see Garrus, Liara, Tali, James, Javik, or VS dipping at that point unless ordered to by Hackett.  For some reason, I doubt he did that.

doozer, I don't think the ending is as bad as people are saying.  I cried.  I have no issue with admitting that.  I also have thought about it more and the more I think about the more I think the ending works.  BW said this was the end of Shepard's story.  What better way to end then to sacifice yourself to save everyone else?  Two of the three ending give you that.  

Liara at the end didn't ask Sheaprd to keep the promise made months ago.  Liara said farewell before giving Sheaprd her gift.  As much as we wanted a happy ever after ending with blue children.  Either fan fic it or deal with it.  I doubt we'll get it in game.

I hate to sound cold about it, but it is how I feel.  I am able to work with the ending, I already have a page and half done and I'm just getting started.  

How much worse would the ending have been if you saw your love and best buddy dead at the end?  Which the vid of cut content shows.  Liara and Garrus dying.  I still refuse to see it, but I know it's there.

I managed to start another playthrough, and God, is it fun! Such a shame about the ending, but I believe there is enough discussion on that already!

I have to say, I really love the music that plays on Mars. Did anyone flash back to Therum when they first heard it, because I certainly did.

Guess I don't know what you mean.  "Clearer foil"?  Leng was a doucher in the books and a bigger doucher in the game.  Hate him as much as I hate TIM.

I'm always glad to hear that some people liked/loved the ending. That is really great for them.

Unfortunately that is not how I feel. It was an absolute fail that makes me unable to even play the games again. If that is what Bioware was aiming for they did a really great job.

And if an individual took the time to try and make all the right choices, do all the freakin' side missions, get peace where war had always been then yes, I expected my Shepard to survive. as I've said before, the story was already bittersweet when you looked at the characters that had died.

Shepard just had to look at Liara who had lost her mother and even her homeworld to see a bittersweet ending as they stood over dead reapers. The ending even with a living Shepard would never be rainbows and unicorns.

The ending for me was an absolute fail and I am hoping that Bioware gives a proper ending in a DLC. If others loved or liked the ending I have no problem with that ... just as I hope they understand that I absolutely hated it. They wouldn't have to get the DLC if they were content with ME3 as is.

Kei Lang was a disappointment. Bioware kinda failed to make me feel anything for him. He hit liara, that pissed me off, taunted me about thane *meh* sent me an email...how juvenile. Kicked his ass in the end for "thane". *shrugs* the guy was a thorn in my side, but nothing id write home about.

I think the problem with Kai Leng was that while Shepard is more of a leader/tactician that can fight (I see him as a sort of Alexander the great of his time), Leng was a pure warrior so it never felt like he was my opposite or "foil" the only thing special about him where his cutscene powers that he used to dispatch Thane and throw some rockets at us

I got the sense that TIM couldn't afford Adam Jensen from Deus Ex so he found a cheap knock off and figured "Meh, he won't succeed but I won't be out a lot of money when he dies."

You only kill Leng for Thane if Thane is alive in your import.  I had Miri die on my broShep with Ash/Jack run I did already.  I guess she wasn't loyal because I did warn her about Leng.  So when Jaxx Shepard killed Leng, it was for Miranda, because Thane was KIA during SM.  Actually, I think he got a beam to the chest before the Normandy crashed landed.

To lighten the mood.  I think I brought it down.  Sorry about that.  


PMC-I think it's a fitting ending.  Do I love it?  No.  Can I work with it?  Yes.  For me working with it matters.  I can't write any fic after ME3 if I can't work the ending.  

The story I have started has only one change from the ending.  The squad is NOT on the Normandy.  I don't care if the Normandy is on some unknown planet because the squad isn't on it.  Hell, I added Chakwas to the ground team too.  She was needed to help the wounded on Earth.  No need for her to be on the Normandy at that point.  :innocent:

Other than those changes, I'm keeping the relays gone and the Citadel too.  For now.  I might go back to my original arc(have people wanting me to anyway) and write more from that.  We will have to see.

I dont get paid for it! Bioware does! I paid a lot for a decent game with a conclusive ending. I got half. Stupid collectors edition. god im such a sucker!

Without an ending DLC ME3 and, retroactively the series, is a solid fail for sure. Very sad reality that would be thus I try to keep hope alive. At least in my mind.

Amy and Liara want that achievement too, but they don't need a medal for it. They'll settle for the little blue reward.

Dear me, did I forget Liara got smacked about by Kai Leng? I must've blacked out Thessia pretty bad. It was traumatising for me. Why couldn't I blow up that stupid gunship like I did with Archangel? Anyway I stabbed him, though one death simply isn't enough for some people.
