Hi, dudes and dudetities! I just signed up awhile ago, and i had to say this is the best place for Liara Fans to rtalk anything about her without being Trolled!
So yeah, i'm a Liara Fan too! <3 Been loyal to her since Me1 and never ever romance anyone but her~Damn proud of that!
(You heard a voice in your head: The Blue Brigade + 1!!!)
Welcome. We're a mostly friendly bunch dedicated to Liara.
I figure trolling Liara fans has to stop sooner or later. We all know (or at least I do) that she's the writer's favorite and has got the best romance in the entire series, and I'm just fine with that.
I actually feel somewhat sorry for those who romanced other LI's. Shepard and Liara probably have the most natural and touching relationship in gaming history.

My theory on her chest however is my headcannon and written into my fanfic. I believe because of her feelings for Shep, her desire for children and to settle down with him (male shep sorry) she has decided to move into the Matron stage. Combined with the number of times she has melded with him, at least in my story, this has brought the Matron stage raging forth. I think it happens when they change stages. If you notice throughout all the games, Aria, Benezia, Samara, all of them have large chests. Where as those who are not Matriarchs or in their Matron stage do not.
Just my two cents. IMHO.
You, me and many others I'd warrant!
While your "matron stage" idea is certainly plausible, I always got the impression it came at a certain age (around 300 - 400) and Liara is "only" 108 at the end of ME3. Still, don't take that as me saying "you are wrong" because I would never do that and, as I said, you've really put some thought into it and more power to you.
Well Liara's father pretty much confirmed that Asari breasts get bigger as they move stages, with her talk of Benezia's 'rack.'

And if you cheat on her before Lair of the shadow broker, she even gets to insult your new romance. Extra dominance in the romance world to her. Yes, I figure she's a dominant lover, considering how she addressed Ashley's reply to Liara's comment about her being jealous.
Does this dominance translate to her wanting to always be on top? 'Cause Rachel may have a problem with that..
And how did she do what about jealousy? Was that way back in ME 1? I forget.

Compare with many other LI, hers definitely is the best! The her depth and character's growth was amazing (except the lack of Closure , and my blue Babies
Somehow, whenever i start a new save, i could never ever bring myself to romance any other than Liara, in ME2 i remained single (never got my paramour achievement :innocent:) and in Me3 when i speak with Ashley, there are so many dialogues that indicate of setting a spark to her Romance, i was like so afraiad that i might lock unto the her. Losing my Liara. Thank God, it wasn't, cause Ashley was straight!
Then came Traynor, i even invited her to my Cabin and let her use my shower Was playing Full Paragon there), that's when my Unfaithful to Liara Alrms Alerted me to be careful. Tempted for a sec, but Meh~ Even if Liara doesn't have much dialogue for me whenever i went to talk to her after mission. (that's makes me kinda sad...

"The Matron stage of life begins around the age of 350, though it can be triggered earlier if the individual melds frequently. This period is marked by a desire to settle in one area and raise children."
So my guess is that she's been busy with Shepard behind the scenes!

I never pictured Liara as dominant at all. Not that we've seen to much of her in private settings, but she always seems guided by Shepard. That's kinda what I tried to reflect in my last picture.
I always felt Shep had to take the iniative. Or maybe that's just me, literally wanting to take more iniative, but game won't let me D:

Fill me in regarding the Rachel thing? I don't think I've read a fanfic of yours, sorry. Well, in my case, she can be on top all she wants. But I think the dominance might translate more to who peels the other out of their uniform. Man when I heard her dad say "How many times have you peeled her out of her uniform?" (I saw it in a female shepard video, I'm a male Shepard, remember?.. DON'T HIT, OKAY!?), man did my imagination start running.
The jealousy is in Mass Effect 1, after a mission if you've been talking a lot ot Ashley and Liara, as a potential to romance both of them, they'll request that you choose. Liara says that Ashley might just be jealous. Ashley replies "jealous? you're not even our species" and Liara replies something along the lines of "Exactly, I am unlike any rival you've ever faced before". Dominance, right there.

+ However, it should be noted that each stage can be started whenever an
asari feels that she has reached the correct level of maturity. While
each stage of life is marked by strong biological tendencies,
individuals do make unexpected life choices. For example, there are
Maidens who stay close to home rather than explore, Matrons who would
rather work than build a family, and Matriarchs who have no interest in
community affairs.

What? No. She means when you tell your children about this, she will not have a heroic speech to tell them.

No it means that she's expectin them to live through the events, have kids, and eventually tell them Sheps story, and when they get to that point in the story, the kids will want to know if Liara had some kind of speech this time around instead of Shep, since Shep's always making speeches...

In that scene Liara says she doesn't know what to say. All what's happening out there at that moment is really hard for anyone to understand.
I suppose she's referring to the future: she wants to have a future with Shepard and little blue children. She just didn't have a speech to talk them about.

I think she didn't expect to see Shepard again after that moment (thanks BioWare for making that a reality btw:crying:) but didn't really know what to say. Her talk about sharing her memory only with very close friends or bondmates really indicates that she'd like to eventually marry Shepard.
I'm not 100% sure about the rest. I feel her talk about children and the speech indicates she uses it as an incentive to urge Shepard to survive and come back, to tell him that if he doesn't, she'll never have a chance to tell stories to their children (since obviously they then won't have children together).
It may also be that Liara is not sure what to say to Shepard at this point. She's said all there is to it by now (expressing her wish to spend their lives together and get married, telling Shepard she loves him) and now that the chances for both of them getting killed couldn't get any higher, she doesn't know what to say.
She brings up the little blue children as some sort of joke to ease the tension. This explanation sits well with me since it reminds me of what she said when Joker told a little joke in ME1 to ease the tension: "I see, it must be a human thing. I don't have a lot of experience dealing with your species commander." Indicating that Liara is now a lot more human than she was in ME1.
I don't know, maybe I'm just a hopeless Liara fanboy and I'm reading way too much into it.
Edit: Darn got ninja'ed not once, not twice, but three times! And everyone managed to say in 3 sentences what took me half a novel...

Every time i hear Ali's voice or see Liara on screen i just get so happy!
It's strange... Strange and sad: Strange cos she's a fictional Blue alien and sad because Bioware had to cop-out with such a lazy ending! Shepard didn't wanna die! She wanted to live and be with Liara!

By the way, regarding those who discussed the reasoning behind Liara's boobs looking bigger, if you go back and look at her in the dress when she visits the Normandy in Lair of the shadow broker, you'll see that she doesn't have as big boobs in that outfit, so I'd probably say it's something to do with the outfit rather than her matron stage and aging etc.

Your argument is invalid. Flycam says otherwise.

Thanks to everyone who said they're enjoying Liara’s relationship dialogues in ME3. I’m glad you like them! (I can't take sole credit. Everyone from our cinematic designers to audio artists to Ms. Hillis herself did a wonderful job bringing those scenes to life.)

I have a quick question if you don't mind. If starting a 'new' romance with Liara, is the trigger point the same as
officially confirming the imported romance (i.e., the talk on the Citadel) or is there something different?
Yup - the Citadel Talk is where you make your romance choice.
Sorry, but can you confirm when this 'confirmation' scene on the citadel should occur? I've just done the Cerberus attack on the Citadel and Liara is standing by the railing on the presidium commons, but she just says something like "Hello Shepard" when I interact with her, nothing more..
