This video is hilarious.

Ahaha! I'm not sure which one made me laugh more, that one or the "Hitler finds out about Mass Effect 3's Ending." Both cheered me up.

So I know a lot of people like to come here for the sexy Liara photos and blue boob discourse (I can't believe there was that much speculation about the size, you guys crack me up) but I come here because I got cold-clocked somewhere in the middle of LotSB with how awesome a character Liara is and I like seeing like-minded fans appreciate her.

I've been forcing my way through ME1 again (it hurts ... being on the Citadel) and it's neat going back through with this new ... blue tinted appreciation. I notice that she doesn't use contractions for the first part of the game and her speech is very uncertain and formal. She also said something about liking solitude, so now I can really see why being the Shadow Broker appealled so much to her. I like her subtle introversion and how it translates to her being pretty serious most of the time.

Anyhoo, thought I'd share, carry on.

Try Hitler retakes mass effect 3. It's hillarious and true.

Helloes Liara fans. Been a while since I was in this thread, but I liked it when I was here before the game was released. I keep thinking of how there's never going to be any marriage, old age and lots of little blue children, and it brings me down. Was hoping someone here would cheer me up...

I'm currently playing the Ardat Yakshi temple quest and chuckled to myself because of this conversation:

Javik: "The asari should have rid themselves from the Ardat Yakshi. My people would have never let such monsters walk among them."
Liara: "They didn't care for the competition?"
Javik: "Bah."

Now that's my girl. B)

Haha, I need to use Javik more next pt.

It's hard to pick between taking Garrus or Javik with Shepard and Liara.  Both have great lines.  Javik is a must on Thessia though.

I had Garrus with me on Thessia. He kept pointing out how all the statues of 'a goddess' really looked like a Prothean. How every piece of art seemed to depict a Prothean. Liara wanted to hear none of it at first.

What kind of dialogue does Javik have? Does he outright say right from the start that his people influenced the Asari when they were primitive?

Hello and welcome:)
The indoctrination theory is your friend if you need to be cheered up a bit. Even if you don't agree with/like the idea at all, watch this vid. It's really good and offers a lot of hope for the future.

Those Hilter videos are hillarious.  I've not seen that one.  I'm not ready to watch it just yet.  The movie those vids are made from is very good as well.  It's called "Downfall".

I think a lot of her saying the SB is the perfect job is because she can do research she loves doing and she is alone.  Well, Feron is there, but for the most part she is working alone like she did before she met Shepard.

That's weird...  I brought Garrus to Thessia and didn't get any of that.

Or maybe it was Vega?  Either way, I knew I couldn't have been the only one who saw the statues looking like protheans.

I know what you mean. I noticed various things I didn't on my first few playthroughs, simply because I had played Mass Effect 2 and 3 afterwards. Also one specific thing I noticed was that often you'd see her right eye would be a little bit more squeezed together than the other one.

I'm loving the improvement they made to her, she was still very pretty back then, but if they had never improved her looks, Ashley would've been the by far hottest in Mass Effect 3.

He commented almost all the time when you interacted/investigated one of the relics. With a part of the codec, Liara would take over and say what it contains but whenever you picked a prothean statue or one of those ... cave drawings... if you will then Garrus would also comment on how the goddess looked so Prothean.

[quote]For the most part yes.  I would have edit the vid I made down, but for some weird reason, that recording got all messed up and I have to record it.  I took EDI the first time and she makes the same type of comments Garrus does, but Javik keeps telling Liara it a Prothean and Liara isn't believing him.

"By the Goddess, Literally."  I loved that line from her when the statue started to reveal the Prothean Beacon.

Here is a video of Aethyta's talk with Liara with my broShep who is with Ash.  There is a difference in this.  Enjoy.

Oh it's a good theory for sure but it's pretty much debunked as far as I know. Still, suppose it could be used for headcanon or something...

I always figured this was a result of growing up in an "aristocratic" household with really no one her age to relate to.

She may come off as a bit aloof at times but my Shepards found that oddly attractive.

Welcome back!

We're all in various states of acceptance / denial / anger here but the awesomeness that is a certain lady in blue, plus lots of wine, icecream and intensive head canoning of better endings has kept the mood reasonably good I think.

Regarding the cheering up I'd like to use this slightly aged, but well proven medicine :D

That makes sense.  Then add in how she rebeled from Benezia.  Which Shepard says is normal for children to do.  Maybe it's time to go back to ME1 to romance Liara again.

Nah it was only debunked by the haters who either like the ending (can't imagine there being people like that but hey.. stranger things have happened) or people who hate BioWare now and can't imagine them being good enough writers to think of this plot twist.

The evidence supporting the theory is still WAY more convincing than any counter argument ever produced.

Indotrination Theory, Official ME3 Ending, Debunking Indoc theory, Liara. There's holes in all of them that I can chalk up to rushed development.

@PCM - Whats the legal drinking age here? 18? or 21? And why do all these I.D's have alternating pictures of Liara on them...*frowns*

@ladyvader Im with you taking on the Garrus viewpoint in regards to ending DLC.
I mean even IF bioware fixed the ending or released an appeasement DLC ...would you take it? I mean the damage has all ready been done, the respect has been lost, it would feel like a hollow victory no?

That Shepard actually imported properly.  It is how I created him in ME1 and I didn't change anything in ME2.  No, he's a doucher and cheated on Ash with Jack then got all kissy kissy with Jack on Grissom then broke it off with Jack on the Citadel and stayed with Ash.  She is perfect for him.

Liara not so much.

When ME2 was released I had three Shepard.

Leia is with Liara
Jaxx is with Ash and a doucher
Mara is with Kaidan and stepped out on him too.  Interested to see what Jacob has to say to Mara about having a baby momma.  <_<:pinched:

The only LI I stayed faithful to was Liara.  Then I created a broShep just for Tali.  Because I felt Tali is too sweet to have any conficts with Ash.

Fill me in regarding the Rachel thing? I don't think I've read a fanfic of yours, sorry. Well, in my case, she can be on top all she wants. But I think the dominance might translate more to who peels the other out of their uniform. Man when I heard her dad say "How many times have you peeled her out of her uniform?" (I saw it in a female shepard video, I'm a male Shepard, remember?.. DON'T HIT, OKAY!?), man did my imagination start running.

The jealousy is in Mass Effect 1, after a mission if you've been talking a lot ot Ashley and Liara, as a potential to romance both of them, they'll request that you choose. Liara says that Ashley might just be jealous. Ashley replies "jealous? you're not even our species" and Liara replies something along the lines of "Exactly, I am unlike any rival you've ever faced before". Dominance, right there.

Oh no.. I don't do fics, because I'm no good at them. Just my canon FemShep, Rachel. ;)

Can't be hitting on my fellow Liaramancer, against the rules. *razmfrazm*

I suspected it was back in ME 1, and I'd never have heard that, because. Y'know.\\

Have you seen FemShep's behind? Good God, give their kid Shep's butt, Liara's *ahem* assets, and the Shepard family will have to hire Krogan bodyguards within a few decades.

edit : nononono, new we need a top pic that's always baby Shepard, unless something special comes along. Or we get bored, but that'd never happen, right? :P

Yeah, I think she's naturally a very determined person (and maybe a bit stubborn)...I couldn't see her enjoying the politics thing.

The Shadow Broker job is quite ideal for her since she can make a difference while maintaining her privacy.

I already plan on buy any story line related DLC for ME3.  I have plenty of Microsoft points to get anything they release.  I don't know if I am going to buy any armor/weapons they release like I did for ME2.  I think the new guns we got with the N7 CE are perfect.

I see. I still find his looks to be a little messed up. But then again, mine is just the standard Shepard face from the posters and such. I like that look a whole lot more.

Also, is it just me, or does Ali deliver her lines when speaking to the Matriach, damn well? I love the delivery of "I do not headbutt people" and "I am a very good information broker"

The entire conversation part is just hilarious. Thanks for uploading it by the way

Ah that explains it. Just thought since you refered to her as Rachel whenever you talked about her, that you had some specific fanfic that everybody (except me) knew about.

Yeah, I just went ahead and talked with them, didn't go renegade choices and such, so it kinda ended up that way. But Liara was the choice all the way anyway in my latest playthrough. I'm still trying to see how I can be the least renegade, and still deny all my current crew members. I managed with Jack just fine, but Miranda and Tali is another thing.

A difference she made too.  Leia is quite proud of Liara.  She did what she said she was going to do.  Help Shepard defeat the Reapers and she turned the Shadow Broker network to do good work.

I loved the message you read on the terminal in her office about the ship that shows up with the element zero(i think that is what was delieved) and took off again and that the Shadow Broker would send more if needed.

Way to go, Liara.
