How cool, SilentNukee.
I saw a tweet from Ali Hillis yesterday about how she thought the FFXXIII Lightning figure was cool. Wonder what she thinks of Liara getting her own figure too.
I suppose she'd feel honored or at the very least just happy. Ali Hillis sort of IS Liara. More so than Jillian Murray imo.
I just realized "Male & female have no meaning" implies that every animal species on their homeworld is female.
Well, this just applies to the Asari themselves, not other species originating from Thessia. She actually says "Male and female have no real meaning for us" meaning you can't accurately call Asari females because frankly, they're not.
Problem with that is that the codex refers to them as an all-female species.
True. I believe the codex does display some inconsistencies. However I felt while Asari are obviously female to the outside (other races) they simply do not view themselves as such because there are no males either.
I think that Liara even makes a few comments about this in game.
Another thing worth considering, if you're going to have a mono-gendered species they almost have to be feminine. Females are the ones that have the children after all, so no females, no children, and Darwin selects you to get the shaft, and that's it.
But who are we kidding? They were designed to be hot space babes. What I love about them as a whole is that that's not their entire and only schtick. There's a lot of cultural subtelty to learn about if you pay attention.
The Asari are also very colorful as a whole. I think the whole "mate with other species" thing has introduced a myriad of other traits into their society. As a result, when you talk to one, it's hard to tell what you've got given how wildly variable they can be. Aethyta, for example, is someone that I'm not surprised had a Krogan father.
