As we all know the ending on the surface involves Liara et al. off on some far away planet and Shepard either dead or trapped under rubble on Earth, barely alive. Assuming there isn't a "big twist" and thats really how it is, which of the following two terrible scenarios do you prefer:
1. Shepard is alive but Liara and Shepard never see each other ever again.
2. Shepard is dead, hence never sees Liara again.
Its surprising, hell I surprise myself with this, but I think I'd be more grief stricken by 1 than 2.

I think I need a hug now...preferably from Liara

That's why I'm not ever finishing ME 3 again.. If I wanted to give myself depression I just follow the latest war or famine happening around the world.

Nah like i said before. I'm 99% sure that this is what Shepard is thinking, his crew to be safe on an unknown planet rather than dying to Harbinger or some other Reaper. You really think Liara will leave Shepard body even if he/she died? No ****ing way and no way Joker would be such a **** coward.

Thing is, even with the Mass Relays blown up, with everything like it is, Shepard and Liara would eventually find a way to reach each other. That's just one of those things you know. But I understand your depression. I just like to think about the indoctrination theory. Makes everything make sence and seem hopeful.

Just a shame the ending will still be **** because it still makes no sense, even if they clarify and add closure. Pretty sure about that outcome at least.

I don't need a happy ending. It'll be fine, and I'll probably be able to settle with it, but I'd much rather have something that makes sense. Not "Yo dawg I herd you don't like to be killed by synthetics, so we created some synthetics to kill organic life so you won't be killed by synthetics"

So you rather have Liara die or be miserable for a very long time? If they don't give me an ending that i fought for and wanted all 3 games then i don't think i will play Mass Effect again anytime soon.

Technically, the endings could stay. BW just need to declare them to "hallucination" and give us a real closure: Reapers defeated, Mass Relays intact, lots of worlds devastated but being able to recover, Shepard and crew survives, ending with LI.

But guess we won't see that, huh?

It's not so much that I don't want closure and all that. But it's not where the importance of it lies for me. I want an overall ending that makes sense, not something that practically rapes the lore behind the Mass Effect universe, especially not something that leaves us with very similar endings no matter what, and has no sense to why the Mass Relays etc would be destroyed, when that wasn't part of anything the catalyst told us.

I'm all for a happy ending, of course. But in the end I want an ending that makes sense, say I decided to play through the Mass Effect trilogy remaining  single, why would I care about getting back to a group where there isn't that love interest, but still have an ending that leaves not only confusion, but lack of proper sense, and a clear lack of effort in terms of creating a broader variation of endings. Yes I get there's probably a ton of resources put into all these cinematic endings, and with there being like 16 small differences here and there all together depending on your war assets and galactic readiness, screw that I'd rather have 3 completely different endings with the same amount of effort put into the cinematics, than 16 small difference cinematics that were probably set like that to save money.

But god knows what went through Bioware's head. I'm expecting it to be something from EA most likely, with their massive hard-on for deadlines instead of working like Blizzard does "It's ready when it's ready".

I don't want THE happy ending, i want many endings and more importantly i want my decisions to matter. So if i have 10 000 EMS why the **** not get a happy ending? I got 10 000 what is the point to get that high anyway if all you get is death,death oh and DEATH.

Dragon Age was a decent game, but to me lacked the same development of characters, didn't exactly make it any better that when they got around to the 2nd game, you suddenly had a new character to start caring about. The story of Dragon Age severely falters in comparison to Mass Effect.

Plus the combat system of Dragon Age kinda sucked

Then again, they said the ending was not going to be A, B, C but it was. What they claim is not always really what they want to do, can you take their word on "not changed"? For all we know they might have planned this indoctrination theory all along because the facts that prove the theory correct are strong. I doubt they were either just a mistake or lazy writing.
