I may pick up the "clarity" DLC, but it unfortunately shows that Bioware has completely missed why we think the ending is garbage. Much like a joke, if you have to explain your ending, you've written a bad ending.

Yes. Ive finally reached it. Both Indoc and Actual Endings are crap, they had so many good plot devices to work with and they wasted them all - ruined the rest. Bioware has lost my trust, and my wallet - theres nothing more that needs to be said. Backto blue everybody! Cmon, it's the only good thing left from this series that makes the time spent playing this game for the past 5 years bearable - let's light it up!

A good start would be to cut the jungle planet scene. It doesn't make any sense (London -> Normandy...how???) and is completely unnecessary. I don't think they will change the destroy/synthesis/control decision or the destruction of the relays.

It did.  Thats the exact moment I get the altF4 ending.  Did what had to be done.

It does seem like they wrote the ending in a vacuum. They wanted Shepard to be sacrificed, but the way the game was leading up, such a thing wasn't going to be necessary. So they get the run-up to the beam, Harbinger says "Nope!" and then Bioware (in the form of StarChild) says "You have to die, and we need to undo everything you've done in this universe. But we're all about choice, so... choose!"

And AND! to make sure there are no sequels or hope of such continuations!  We will strand your crew in an unknown place to die eventually and destroy your ship!  AHA!

Someone should have mentioned in one of those guides that THIS was the "secret" ending....altF4...and people have been trying to find it for days...sheesh!

I want a good chance at a happy ending.In ME2 you had a chance if everything went right to get through the suicide mission with everyone,ofcourse if you messed up big time you could lose everyone..Our choices mattered then.I want our choices to matter more than @$%%##%% multiplayer.
I want Shepard and Liara walking along a beach when a little blue daughters comes running up yelling(little girls do a LOT of yelling when little)Daddy,Daddy I found one!Handing human a sea shell."It's for Uncle Mordin,you know so he can run tests and not be bored."

The only 'clarification' they could do is to admit an 8 year old kid on lsd wrote the ending and they didn't check it afterwards. Even then they still need to add a proper set of endings. I am kind of wondering what kind of garbage they'll come up with though. And I wish them all the best trying to explain what happens in the ending should they go that route, they're certainly going to need it.

Reject the ending! Throw it away and stomp on it! *nod* But yeah, I'm still pretty devastated, trying to make the best of it though...

Making our own endings seems like the only option we have left. Just do your best to ignore it. Personally I try to piece together something less awful in my head by mixing input from various sources. Can't allow Shep and Liara to end like this!

I keep getting annoyed at people saying they feel "forced" into a romance with Liara. Basicly they're saying that they're angry because Liara cares about Shepard, no matter who he's with, and she's simply a very loving person. That's a good thing. If Tali were to show my Shepard she likes him, even though I haven't romanced her, I'd be fine with that. That would never change how I feel about Liara, never. You can't tell someone how they are "supposed" to feel.
So, if you feel "forced", maybe that's because you're beginning to like Liara more than your current LI? But that's just my view.

I honestly agree. Its actually quite realistic in fact. People don't choose who to get "smitten" by, it just happens. Liara is in love with Shepard; regardless of whether or not that love is requited.


As far as indoctrination theory goes, my take is that all the exposure throughout the games hasn't actually indoctrinated Shepard but has weakened her "mental shields" so to speak. The sheer pressure of the Reapers on her mind finally makes a breakthrough after she is knocked out through being close to the blast from Harbinger's laser. The entire last section of the game is a frantic attempt by Harbinger to force a rapid indoctrination process on Shepard before she can defeat them because they're literally terrified of her.

The game codex itself supports rapid indoctrination as being possible by the way. Nobody actually states any kind of "minimum time" required for indoctrination as far as I'm aware. To quote the codex entry:

Rapid indoctrination is possible, but causes this decay in days or weeks.

The reason Shepard has the possibility of throwing it off is because Harbinger is trying to do it TOO fast.


Also, I was just wondering if anyone has found a picture of Liara as a child in relation to this reminiscing about digging for ancient ruins in the park. Surely its just too adorable a mental image for somebody to not have done so but I can't find anything.

So I stoped thinking about them, all my playthrough will end after Shephard gives his final speech from now on.

I dont think anything they say or do at this point can really...get them out of the hole theyve dug for themselves - too much trust lost, it's hard to rebuild such a thing.  Every piece of content they release that could maybe explain the ending is going to be hollow and pointless in my eyes and not worth my time and money anymore.  I honestly don't think they can fix this.


Anywho... Back on topic or the ''being''/''entity'' outside of the frame gets it!
