So big question what do you think Liara's impression of Humanity's classics would be; in my canon i think she would find some like Homer to be interesting, would probably love Shakespeare even if it has been alienized (With pondering thought: To be or not to be that is the question), and has a thing for cinema especially the well made love stories like Casablanca, and some of the better made war films if only to get a better grip on the culture that Shep was razed in (she is a little researcher after all), also she has a hankering for Wagnerian opera and would enjoy being able to go to the Bayreut Festival with Shepard once Earth and everything is rebuilt. Atleast that's what i think she would enjoy (mix of my own personal tendency's and what i think she as a intellectual/romantic would be interested in) So what about the rest of you guys What Human classics/entertainment in general do you think Liara would enjoy?

This may be a attempt to get us away from the endings

Edit:  still at work will put a top pic when i get home in two hours k please forgive the delay guys

I can imagine Shep and her watching an old period movie like Gladiator, and Liara pointing out all the inconcsistencies and historical innacuracies, with my Shephard going "Liara...It's just a movie"

But I think Liara would be most interested in reading Herodotus, Thucydides and Gibbons as far as classics goes, probably Homer too

I would show Liara 'Saving Private Ryan', just to show her our dark history. If she went sad seeing all the death, I'd comfort her. I only want her to be as happy as she could ever be. Maybe I'd show her Inception aswell.

I'd probably do Inception I think it's a modern day classic plus it might explain the ending, Shepard was just having a dream inside a dream inside a dream.  Saving Private Ryan is a must though probably one of the best war films i've seen with the exception of Enemy at the Gates and just above Paths of Glory (even if it isn't as gory as the other two it's still beautifully shot and I'm a huge fan of Kubrick)

not really a movie, but what about the band of brother's series and the pacific?  Tuskagee Airmen might be one to throw on as well as schindlers list (although that one might be a little Too depressing)

Am I the only one who's really happy about the fact that we're discussing what MOVIES we'd show Liara T'soni if we had the chance? This is ****ing amazing. Really, this page makes me so happy :)

I'd settle down in front of the TV to watch a horror with her. Something really frightening/creepy. And we'd cling to each other at the scary bits.

*looks around*
...what?

As far as more "cultural" things go I'd take her to the theatre for some Shakespeare. I do backstage work for drama productions sometimes and love it myself and I'm sure she'd appreciate it.

Reading wise probably some classic literature, comedy, whatever. A mixture of stuff really; but I'm a massive reader with a huge variety of books so I'm sure theres SOMETHING I have that she'd like.

All under the War Films banner to me Doozer  and I liked all of them but those three up there are my faves BOB and Schindlers List are right there with Paths of Glory the Pacific a little below, didn't like it as much.  but all in all it is all part of Liaras course in understanding Shepard's Military Culture.

Id be surprised if my Shepard could make it through a movie with Liara without get distracted.  It would have to be a serious one to keep her in check.  In all hoensty though, my shep would love a good comedy - something to make Liara laugh, the sound is just music to her ears.  Leslie Neilson comes to mind, or some old John Candy flicks like Canadian Bacon.  Ohhh monty python perhap *ponders*  nah monty might not be her thing.

Nope this was what i was hoping for anything to get away from the endings, wait did i say endings the rest of you didn't read that, and Andronicas i can definately see the Gladiator thing happening although my Shep is a bit of a history buff so the roles might be reversed, or they'll both refuse to watch it and pop in a documentary,  I'm sure History Channel will still be showing **** shows in 2183

Exactly....Liara has some sense of humor. Add Spaceballs and Princess Bride to the list.
Book wise everything dealing with mythologies (greek, nordic, etc) as well as human history.
Music wise I can totally see her rocking with Shepard to some classic tunes :P

first time playing through ME3 with a Liara romance from ME1 save, I think I died a little from sheer joy when I got the head turn part, and even more so when I got Image IPB too.

So, this is a big question, one that drives me crazy. If they were to invent a simulator-device in a few years that would simulate virtual reality with whatever theme you'd want, and you could be in that simulation for as long as you wanted, since 5 minutes in the real world would be weeks in there... would you leave your life behind to live in that simulaton with Liara fir all eternity? I know this sounds unrealistic and all, but who knows? I actually think they'll invent this kind of thing sometime in the future... but perhaps not in my life time. Honest answer :)

Sounds like Inception to me what would happen if we didn't wake up,  but if i could spend 5 minutes in real life doing that sure why not.  Me and Liara side by side.  oh wait you said for all eternity, ehhh i don't think i could leave RL behind but doing it a few times a week for like five min. would be fun

ionno.  Im not saying i wouldnt be tempted, but there in lies the danger of virtual reality - your mind would stagnate after awhile.  Like video games, they do threaten to take over the true reality of life.  Its blurs the lines.  Would having a romance with Liara - our favorite fictional char make it worth it? ....eh no.  She's still a program.  She will operate within expected parameters.  As much as id want to believe she's real it would just be a star trek holo-novel to me.  I would go with a no :(  better to keep her a fantasy.

Realistically I think something like that could cause the end of the world, genuinely. I think most people are unhappy about some aspect of their life or have unrealistic wishes. So I'd imagine you'd have a LOT of takers for people going into that. I know I would; who wouldn't want a "perfect" life? The whole of reality is just based on your perceptions; if the perceptions of someone can be completely replaced with new ones then who is to say what is reality and what isn't?

I know I'm not entirely happy with my life. The chance to just plug into a machine and create an entire new one that is tailor made to being perfect for me and would seem real in every way would be incredibly hard to resist.

Edit: Two page tops in a row! Gimme a sec.
