Funnily enough that EXACT IMAGE is pretty much the reason for my activity.

So, yeah, I finished the first part of the Shepard's Log thing I was talking about. I know it is only partially Liara-related but I was hoping I could get some feedback and everyone here is so friendly! Also, I realize it probably makes for an annoying wall of text. I'll learn how to use links if I ever post more of this, I promise!

So tell me, is it decent at least? 



 Personal Log of Commander Alice Shepard

 

Entry 1 – SSV Normandy SR-1, En route to the Hades Gamma cluster

So… not quite sure how to begin. Serviceman Grenado suggested that I start a personal
log to air my thoughts… seems I don’t look quite as confident about this
mission as I thought. Well, I figured it can’t hurt… so, where to begin…

 

I’ve been inducted into the Spectres. Didn’t see that coming. Only heard stories about
them before. So much has happened recently… still trying to wrap my head around
all of it. Anderson has stepped down as captain
of the Normandy.
It’s my ship now. Doesn’t feel right somehow. I’m ready for it though. We are
going to hunt down a rogue turian Spectre. Saren. The bastard attacked Eden
Prime. The colony was… devastated. He had an entire army of synthetics. Geth.
Don’t know much about them apart from what they taught us in the Academy. The
geth ship was huge, must’ve been a dreadnaught. I tried to save the colonists…
there… weren’t a lot of survivors. All we found was a handful of civilians and
a single marine. We even lost one of our own. Jenkins. If we had just-… this
wasn’t supposed to happen. I’m supposed to prevent **** like this from
happening! There weren’t supposed to be any more after colonies hit like this
after Mindoir!

 

*frustrated sigh followed by a few seconds of silence*

 

…we… we didn’t catch him, but we found what he was looking for. A Prothean beacon. Lieutenant Alenko
got too close, triggered it somehow. I pushed him out of the way and it targeted
me. Showed me something… a vision, dream, whatever you’d call it. It showed me…
death. Destruction. It’s all scrambled. Still trying to make sense of it. The
Lieutenant got me back to the Normandy.
The marine we found came along too. Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams. Seems like a
good soldier. We’ll need her. So… anyway… we went to the Citadel. Haven’t been
there before. It was… impressive, to say the least. Never could’ve imagined…

 

Never seen so many aliens before in my life. Barely know anything about half the races
there. Suppose that’s what comes from being a colony kid. Academy is about the
only education I have after all. After a lot of work we managed to convince the
Council to strip Saren of his Spectre status. Took them long enough to realise
he was a traitor… suppose I can’t blame them though. Can’t believe we have to
hunt him alone though.

 

I picked up a few specialists that should prove useful for the mission. All of them alien.
A turian C-Sec officer, Garrus Vakarian. Seems like a good man, dedicated. He
helped out with the investigation. Then there’s Wrex. Krogan bounty hunter.
He’s… not what I expected. Of course then again I’ve never met a krogan before,
but I’ve heard the stories. He didn’t require payment or anything. Seems to
think this is very important. Wants to be a part of it. Not going to turn away
that kind of help, he has a lot of experience from what I gather. Not sure
about his temper though. Let’s hope there won’t be any problems. Lastly…
there’s Tali’Zorah. Quarian. Never met one before. She’s a tech-expert. We’re
really going to need that kind of help if we’re going to take on the geth.
She’s told me quite a bit about her people. They’re fascinating. Can’t imagine
living in a suit my whole life.

 

There’s… more to be told. We found out what Saren is trying to do. He’s going to bring a
race of sentient machines into the galaxy. The Reapers. I think that’s what I
saw in my vision… I think they’re the ones who destroyed the Prothean Empire.
It’s… a lot to handle.

 

I feel like my head is going to explode. So much new knowledge. Never had this kind of
responsibility before. Have to keep a confident face in front of the crew of
course. I’m not letting anymore colonies get destroyed though. If these Reapers
are the real deal, they’re a whole lot worse than the batarians.

 

We’re starting with going to the Hades Gamma cluster to search for the daughter of
Matriarch Benezia. I did mention her, right…? An asari Matriarch. Traitor.
She’s allied with Saren. Her daughter is a prothean expert too, Doctor Liara
T’Soni. Let’s hope she doesn’t have the same loyalties as her mother, she could
prove useful.

 

Guess it’s about time I headed up to the CIC, we’re hitting the relay soon.

 

 

Entry 2 - SSV Normandy SR-1, Citadel Docks

Well… we’re back at the Citadel. Making some minor repairs to the Normandy. She took a bit of damage after
Joker evacuated us from an erupting volcano. Have to hand it to him, he’s a
damn good pilot. We found Doctor T’Soni. I’ve decided to let her join the crew.
She claims to have no knowledge of Benezia’s alliance with Saren. I don’t think
she’s lying to us. It just-… she’s not that kind of person. She’ll be a useful
addition to the team for sure.

 

I’ve been trying to get to know the crew a little better. Always believed in maintaining
good ties with the people I worked with. Found out our dear pilot has the bone
strength of glass. Was a bit unexpected. It explains why he spends almost all
his time on the bridge though. I think my first impression of Kaidan was
accurate. He’s a damn good soldier and a talented biotic. Ashley… well, she’s
tough. Not sure about her attitude towards our alien crew members though. Had
to remind her I approved their presence personally. I hope it won’t be a
returning issue. Had the same problem with Navigator Pressly and Serviceman
Tanaka. At least most of the crew is tolerant. I can’t stand bull**** like
that.

 

*an annoyed grunt is followed by coffee being poured and the cup being sipped*

 

I… had a chat with T’Soni earlier this evening. I don’t think she’s used to dealing with
other people. She’s… well, a bit awkward. Probably not that easy for her to be
on a ship full of aliens. Seems fascinated by what the Prothean beacon did to
me. I don’t mind it though, she’s…

 

*clinking of a coffee cup can be heard, followed by the sound of Shepard sipping the cup*

 

Well, it’s getting late. Should probably finish the last report.

Edit: Text looked messed up. Think I fixed it. Also, I know this first part is quite heavy on dull info and light on actual thoughts and such, but it was hard to avoid in the first entry.

Can't really argue against it after all. Miranda was the hottest in Mass Effect 2 until they updated Liara's appearance, and then in Mass Effect 3 she got overhauled by Ashley too.

Could try some of those. I have no experience with Chrome, so can't speak good for any of it's dictionary extensions though, but it's worth a try.

If not, try getting Openoffice for copying it into the text writer and have it spell check for you (Open office is the free version of Microsoft office, in case you didn't know)

Well, already did a spellcheck in MS Word. So I think that'd be pretty pointless.
