just a though but does the meld/dna radomisation have to result in imediate pregnancy or can they hold onto it just incase? never seen or read anything specific on that and is just speculation, and that was "The gift", if you dont survive you will carry on etc.

Work is long and boring today.

There's nothing disproving or denying that they can store the nervous system information of the father for later use.

When do they joke about that? I HAVE to see it!

And really, the way Liara was all angry saying "I do NOT feel the urge to headbutt anyone" was all krogan-ish to me :D

Oh they don't do it at once... Vega teases her if you take him along to Eden Prime, and Garrus, well he teases her every now and then, doesn't he? Sur'Kesh?

Blood rage. Poor girl gets teased so often.

Aww I took James with her on Sur'Kesh (or was it EDI?).

Teammates talking to each other during missions? I totally approve that. Coming from Dragon Age I missed that on ME1 and 2, you know? There are such great moments :D

Liara may be a BAMF Shadow Broker, but she's still a sweet and bit naive young woman, that's very yummy to tease ;)

Does anyone know whether or not Aethyta regards you as Liara's boyfriend/girlfriend even if you don't romance her? I heard it somewhere and a friend of mine wants to know.

A widely reported issue. Can't say either way because I only have romanced Liara.

But, I think it's a bug, probably linked to LOTSB? Can't say as I never really investigated the issue.

I'm not sure but on YouTube there are videos where she doesn't.

Silly timezones! Not alot of activity here during the day for me, but the second I need to haul my tired ass to bed it explodes with interesting topics .___.

Think it's just grasping for straws, with the ending in mind. At that point though, you're better off just making your own ending than trying to twist the smallest actions into your favour.

Dosen't she always say the "I've seen the way you look at her/him, panties on fire etc etc" line, romance or no romance? Or maybe if that's a single shep? ;o

I'm sure Deventh agrees. I think even Neeh agrees. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

And I think it's Jane who wins the freckle count.

Countin' dem freckles..... Yes it ain't actually her, but I'm using my imagination, as Bioware intended.

Dem freckles

Also, can't remember where I picked it up, but it was something about Asaris head..things, and them being, supposedly, very sensetive.
Sheppy should totally give Liara a "semi-flexible, cartilage based scalp crests" massage. It might even be considered foreplay...

Its Deffo not rape, its not even secret reproduction. My feeling is that Liara loves you, no matter who you romance. She loves you as a friend or a sister/brother, someone whos been there for her since the beginning.

Typical, huh? :P

Very sensitive huh? May be someone's fanfic though.. Can't imagine a chicken's crest being a very sensitive thing, but then that's comparing two very different things...

I won't let logic stop me though! Massage/foreplay? "Liara, darling..."

Yes, she does imply that Liara has a thing for Shepard, even if the feeling isn't mutual. http://fav.me/d3ai8cb

Me too...it's my favorite romance evar.

You know after giving it some thought I'd have to say it's mine too. Mainly because of the dynamic between the two, Liara goes way beyond just being the object of the hero's affection. She's very much Shepard's equal in many ways and the two of them effortlessly carry each other's burdens. Also the two of them can pretty much make anyone wish for blue kids and it's not hard at all to buy these two as a "forever and ever" thing.

Mainly because it comes across as a real relationship not just "You are the object of my hero's affections". Which if I'm being honest is how even Leliana, who I really liked, comes across.

To be fair, Liara didn't have half as much baggage as Leliana did.. Although Liara had much more time to develop as a character, because ME was a trilogy. And there's the  "I don't get to surprise you with anything" *pout* and all those little things. The drama of ME 2, the fresh romancey feel of ME 1, the settling in to the routine of ME 3. So much awesome.

Of course those who don't like Liara would complain, but then, stiff crap to them I say. Whether or not they romance Liara, she's easily the character who has the strongest bond with Shepard, followed closely by Garrus. I always miss that shot, just for Garrus. And then he leaves my ass to rot at the beam. <_<

I'm running out of energy to shake my fist angrily at Bioware over these things..

Took a look at the codex and it tells us that the asari give their offspring not only one but two sets of genes. One direct copy of their own and one that is somehow altered by the melding.
How that modification works or what happens with the two different DNA strands to form a single new beeing is left in the dark ...
All we know is that at least something has to carry over from father to child. Look at Aethyta and her krogan blood

Aethyta was teasing Liara. Remember her reaction, "It doesn't work that way"? Someone said way back that they use their partner's nervous system to randomise their second set of DNA, which is not unlike receiving genetic material from the partner, only, not in a physical manner.

Of course, this confuses my mind, because I'm taught to think along the lines of actual genetic inheritence, not.... meta stuff like this.

Or... were you joking? Like how Liara gets teased by Garrus and Vega...

Anyway, I declare Liara's official nickname for Shepard to be Huggy McSnuggleface. No matter how renegade your Shepard is.

Yeah, I think most of the romances come across that way.  Leliana especially suffered b/c she wasn't important to the plot (like Morrigan or Alistair) and felt like she was just kinda there to be your romance partner/girlfriend.  Her romance stuff is sweet but there's not much going on outside of it.

I wasn't joking, but I just reviewd Aethyta's dialogue about her parents in ME2. She says something about scientists calling "all the stuff about us getting genetic material from the father" "crap".
Which in my view would be a contradiction to the asari stigma against producing "pureblood" offspring because it "doesn't advance their race". And to the way Bioware designed some asari characters. And how would completely random changes to their DNA work in their favor?
Now I'm confused ...

And I want a video with scenes of Liara using that nickname at the most unappropriate times.

Shep (on the holo): That's it TIM! You have gone too far! I'll rip your limbs off and feed them to the varren once I get a hold of you!

Liara (from the background): Yeah! Give it to him, McSnuggleface!

Shep (under her breath): Liaraaa! I'm negotiating here!

I'm pretty sure it would!
And I'd think the three short ones on the back of her head are the most sensitive. And ticklish!
And I wonder if that wouldn't be true for the ... stuff .. on the back of asari's necks too?

SSDD I guess. Liara is the topic, everything revolves around her.

We've talked about Shep and Liara's retirement to wherever they want to retire to. *headcanon is the limit*

We've talked about unsavoury things, best left where it lay.

We've talked about, funny Shep x Liara comics.

Shepard is a BIG HUGGY BUNDLE OF FLUFF

And other miscellaneous topics that I can't really recall right now.

Trust me, don't think too much about it. If I ever told my old genetics lecturers about the asari I may have been thrown out of my course...

Although asari are supposed to reproduce by an extremely modified form of parthogenesis. I don't pretend to know much more about asari than that.

And that would be an awesome time for Liara to show her awkwardness, and occasional lack of negotiating skills when Shepard's around. Fangirlism! What I would improve in ME 3? Make it a snuggle fest. Of course that may not work out so well in a game... so.... fanfics can scratch that itch.

There is no doubt in my mind, that Liara is easily one of the best romances BW ever created.
But, I would go even further. As the SB, she could become more then just the LI and equal partner.
She could become a new main protagonist.

Something not many characters have accomplished!

Like I said awhile ago. Liara is easily Grace Nakamura from the Gabriel Knight Series.
She was a little shy support character in the first game and became even more important than the main protagonist in the third game.

That's at least how I feel about her. Liara and the smurfs? I would buy that game... =D
