[Sunday Afternoon. Neither Liara nor Shepard knows how to cook.]
"By the Goddess Shepard, what are we going to feed the kids when they get back from Garrus and Tali's?"

"Ramen? Toast? Poptarts?"

"Shepard, we have to prepare a MEAL."

"Ramen is a meal..."

"Are we... Are we trash...?"

At which point, Shepard, in true Shepard fashion, gives up figuring out how to cook, calls in some Italian, and takes Liara upstairs.

Two problems solved in one phone call.

I'm a sucker for those happy endings. Image IPB

Anyone else think Garrus and Tali babysitting for Shep and Liara would be the greatest thing to ever happen to anyone? My heart flutters at the thought.

Nope Auntie Tali and Uncle Garrus can take the little munchkins for a few days and give Shep and Liara a little bit of much deserved alone time, also from what i can tell you're sheps are hopeless mine on the other hand will cook Liara any food she desires even if it means making slabs of chocolate armor and cake.:)

It's ok don't cry I'm sure you can get Asari/Calamari/Gumbo... whatever it was that Gardner made for takeout.  also on the subject of food what types of cuisine do you think that the Asari had,  I don't see them eating all the same food and different areas developing different tastes, much like here on Earth.  I don't see all the Asari eating Gumbo all the time, they have to have developed a light almost Mediteranean fare somewhere as well as a heartier cuisine for the colder areas on their continents or those cut off from fresh seas.   Anyone have any ideas on what different types of Cuisine they have, if not I'm just going to assume Liara likes Southern Italian/Mediteranean food

I imagine that Asari have varying foods like anywhere else. Probably don't have Earthly plants and animals though, so the dishes would be similar, but not the same. I think Liara herself would probably have grown up with finer foods. Things like lobster, calamari, gumbo, itsy bitsy portions of steak (because rich people are weird.)

Their fish do resemble Earth´s sea life quite well (some of the fish in Shepard´s cabin originate from Thessia). And yes Gardner did make calamari based upon some asari recipe, (he even joked about their hair fringes resembling squidsImage IPB).

Yeah seriously. I was in love with the Hurricane up until I realized I wasn't actually hitting anything with it.

Doesn´t anyone remember Shiala using it to give Shepard the cipher or Liara who helped Shepard put the information from the prothean beacon in order??

They probably think that is sex too.

Well, it is what you want it to be, right??

I guess some people think a handshake is sex too XD

And we know she's the best dad ever because Aethyta was even thinking of getting Liara a damn pony.

I´m not sure if this has been mentioned before, but have anyone noticed how Liara´s "entrances" in the three games "evolve" thorughout the series to match her personality changes??

F.ex: In the first game, when we meet Liara on Therum, she´s trapped and quite helpless.
And then in ME2 when we meet her on Illium, she is threating to flay someone alive using her biotics.
And now in ME3 she just acts like the terminator and elimates two well-armed Cerberus operatives, without even blinking.

Damn, how I love that woman:D

Well, too be fair, Liara gets a fairly large role in the trilogy: Plot integral in ME1, Redemption, LotSB (i.e. only ME1 LI to get some romance DLC), and now SB/plot provider in ME3, replacing Miranda as Shep's XO. That's fine if you like the character but otherwise... well...

Then there's the fact that she's unavailable but I don't get why that's negative - e.g. I don't like Grunt (pointless) or Miranda (myShep shot all Cerberus personnel on sight in ME1...) but that means that I'd preferred an option to not recruit them rather than wanting to kill them.

Pot, meet kettle. And the sex didn't last that long. We went right back to discussing boring crap like plot and character development.

Liara is the best fictional person i've ever seen and probably will see.. Her character is realistic, she isn't flawless, and most of it all her emotions are so natural and well made. She laughs, she cries, she has hope and she fears. She just seems like a real person. There's no point in one of the 3 games in which i would say she acts unrealistic or unnatural. And i think that's one major reason why nearly everone loves liara... (and of course for her adorable looks :P:wub:)
sorry if i made any mistakes, i'm no native speaker

Hush, you.

And that's rather typical, isn't it? Didn't last very long. Geddit? *nudgenudge;);)*

I'm terribly sorry about this. Anyway, allow me to steer the conversation back to Liara and sex, or the dreaded blue baby topic.

C'mon people, only a couple of us have shared our ideal retreat for Liara 'n Shepard McHuggleface *canon nickname btw.

The winner, with two votes, is a cabin by a mountain lake/brook. Mountain, basically, nice and hidden.

By a mountain lake sounds wonderful, but I disagree about the cabin part. It should be a large place, with plenty of room for guests and little blue children!

I wasn't joking, but I just reviewd Aethyta's dialogue about her parents in ME2. She says something about scientists calling "all the stuff about us getting genetic material from the father" "crap".
Which in my view would be a contradiction to the asari stigma against producing "pureblood" offspring because it "doesn't advance their race". And to the way Bioware designed some asari characters. And how would completely random changes to their DNA work in their favor?
Now I'm confused ...

Can't possibly be completely random changes. In order to prevent genetic problems the changes would have to be big. You just get horribly deformed inviable offspring that way. Therefore there would have to be a level of control and directed mutagenesis.

Beyond that you just have to accept that their biology is different from ours. Being a fiction its not really fleshed out enough to write any kind of definitive article on.

Thats because I can't pick one. I think the mountain thing is a good idea but I quite like the idea of scuba diving on the coral reefs off the back of a yacht as well.

Edit: Anyway, caught up now. Back to finishing that fanfic. I've been making little notes from this thread as well. Couple of comments have given me inspiration for other scenes.

I'd suggest finishing it, reading it and if it still seems too long then cut it down. But only after you're finished writing.

I always find it better to over-write and then compensate by editing stuff out than to try to cut it short. Editing afterwards means you can keep it balanced. Cutting it short means the start stays verbose but the ending gets cut off.

Also this thread seems to be slowing down. Whats wrong?

Better idea: We play as the "little blue children"

The offspring of Shepard and Liara just has to become pretty awesome when she grows up...
Though I'd prefer to leave Shepard, Liara and any of their children out of a sequel. Their story is over, now they get to spend the rest of their lives together and in peace (in my headcanon ending at least)

Bleh, tropical retreats are overrated. After a while you need to deal with mosquitos. And.. sweat..
