I definately think Ash could and should be a case of this.
But then, you think everyone should be gay for some reason.

Unless they explicitly state their orientation, it's all up for interpretation.
And if someone shows interest in the opposite sex while showing no interest in the same sex during an otherwise-identical scene, there's really only one interpretation for that.
Also, I'm sick of this "we'll only accept someone is straight if they explicitly say so", because really, who does that?. Not to mention it sets a ludicrously high standard (Hell, even most characters whose heterosexuality is pretty much their defining character trait don't explicitly say they're straight).
Couple of counter points. 1. Yes, there are certain relationships that would feel wierd and shoehorned in if they were to go S/S all of a sudden, but not simply because of the interest or non-interest in MShep or Femshep, but because they do not match our personal conceptions of the characters. Miranda, Tali, Jack, and Ashley could all go F/F and it would be fine to me, but Jacob, Thane, Garrus, Kaiden, going M/M and Kasumi going F/F would be odd. (See a pattern? Kasumi being an oddity.)
2. To be fair the current standard is ABSOLUTELY NOT GAY UNLESS THEY SCREW A DUDE/CHICK AND SAY THEY'RE GAY, SOMETIMES STILL NOT, and if they do turn out gay they're defo gay cause bisexuality isn't real.
A lot of black and white here.
3. Any character that has their orientation(not sexuality, Isabela did that just fine.) as their defining character trait is a poorly written character straight or gay or bi or whatever.
