Based on Liara's reaction in the scene Ravensword mentioned, I would say as well, that for Asari relationships with more than one partner are not that uncommon or at least more accepted than they are in our world, at least more casual variants. I do think, when an Asari decides on a bondmate and creates that spirtual bond, through the joining, they are totally focused on the one.
In Mass Effect 1, Liara's interest in Shepard seemed mostly based on curiosity and she wasn't really considering or hoping for a lasting relationship, maybe as a possiblity along the line and not for the immidiate future.
But after both games and LotSB, I can't really see Liara wanting anybody besides Shepard and her interest has become more serious.
Generally, "embracing eternity" seems to really work only between two partners at the same time.

also, what if Shepard and Kelly (or any LI for that matter) had a talk about starting a family (like LotSB) but with the "miranda project" for femshep/Kelly romance or ME3 s/s romances?

I want to have Kelly as my LI, but I would like to know ahead of time if her storyline gets the same heft as the others. If Kelly's is kind of short shrift, then I'll probably just go back to Miranda in my ME2 save and import that.

anyone think the LIs (even kelly) live with Shepard in his/her cabin and talk about starting a family.draken-heart wrote...
is anyone hoping that Kelly (if romanced) and you choose her over your other LI, has an option to move into the captain's cabin with Shepard?

i think it would be a good idea myself.

I think the idea to call them up, was quite nice, too, but it should be possible to do that much earlier, for a little private time. Dragon Age was quite nice in that regard, you didn't have to wait until the end for this. I know this is war, but my Shepards need some sugar to keep going, especially since this is war.
One thing was quite funny though. Whenever I called Kelly up and took the elevator down again, she was already there, fully dressed. That is one quick woman ;-)

I would really love to see a uniform option with a skirt, something like this:

by a-stric on deviantArt.
Kelly would look great in this, especially when I, I mean my Shepard is making herself comfortable on the couch, while Kelly is trying to determine the level of stress she is under and coming up with ways to relieve said stress.

I have realized by now, that anything feminine doesn't sit well with gamers. They want their women to be dressed like men, so that they can take them seriously. It's the second time now, that I have expressed my appreciation for more feminine clothing and I got that smilie in reply.

But a woman wearing a skirt or other kinds of clothing that show, that she is a woman shouldn't be a bad thing and I can see Kelly choosing a uniform with a skirt, when given the option.
Granted, the image I posted is a pin-up trying to be alluring and I was trying to find something in between Kelly, the ship's couselor and Kelly, the lover, given the title of this thread. Of course on duty, she should be a little more buttoned up.

I would prefer Kelly being Alliance crew and the first conversation to be about that problem and ending with the decision to not give a f*ck about the regs. Things are dire enough as it is, they deserve some happiness.

I am generally curious how she will be introduced to the game. I have been thinking about that after the uniform idea. Will she still be part of the Normandy's crew since the ship is now Alliance or will we run across her only later during the game. The way the romance progresses will depend on that. If Kelly is now a member of the Alliance, regs against fraternization might become an issue, but if Shepard will succeed in defeating the Reapers no one will care, if she has a relationship with a subordinate.

I think Hackett/Anderson proberly pulled some strings with other Alliance offical's and managed to get the crew to defect to the Alliance without them getting charged with treason, or When Shepard turned himself/herself in (s)he asked that they are not charged with treason and are aceepted into the Alliance military
