For me it's Tali on my male shep and Garrus on my female shep.

For Garrus I see it as being best friends that evolves into a relationship while with Tali I see being her rock as well as Shepards.  I have a hard time articulating why I'm drawn to these two more than the others but in my head it makes sense.

Miranda or Ashley. If ash is available if you cheated I'd pick her, if not just stick with miranda. Never wanted to do the tali romance because it seemed so silly.

edit:not to mention not a fan of aliens in a long term relationship, fling sure though.

Liara - I prefer the story when I have a romance continued over the whole arc, and I find Liara to be one of the more interesting characters since LotSB.

Ashley all the way through. She and my spacer, war hero Shepherd are very compatible.

Yeah, Tali's romance does seem like she's the damsel in distress, and Shepard is the knight in shining armor always rescuing her.  A damsel with a shotgun, who knows how to use it.

Liara, won't be needing anyone else in ME3. If starting a new romance with other characters in ME3 turns out to be nice, I might make a new single Shepard to try that out sometime.

Why : She has an interesting and complex personality, I like her story, she's a strong and capable woman, she's beautiful, I like her looks and her voice, and her romance is very touching and passionate. She's my favorite character in the Mass Effect series.
All my Shepards have romanced Miranda, and only her.

John Shepard (Main Shepard): Tali Zorah vas Normandy - Originally in a romance with Ashley Williams. Always an eye on the Quarian. Since John is my main Shepard where I examine the choices and pick what I personally would do, I would personally pick Tali Zorah. While I am desperately in love with Miss Strahovski, I find the relationship between her and Shepard to more like family since she gave him life. It's odd to say but I have to akin Miranda to the Virgin in artwork. If there is anyone who gets to cradle a dead Shepard, it'll be Miranda in a Pieta-inspired position no less. But this is about Tali Zorah - golly - she's just so sweet and I'm a sucker for the perfect engineer.

Jennifer Shepard: Kaidan Alenko loyal - see any Kaidan fangirl.

Joseph Shepard: Jack and then probably James Vega. It's not a matter of him preferring Vega over Jack, it's that Jack shouldn't have a romance weigh her down. Joseph does love her but realizes that she needs to fly free from him. TBC.

Jane Shepard: Liara T'Soni and Garrus Vakarian. Garrus was that "blow off steam" guy. Liara will be having lotsa blue children. Hopefully Garrus will understand.

James Shepard: Loyal to Ashley Williams

Josephine Shepard: Thane Krios and then probably a new squaddie.

Jessica Shepard: Kaidan and then Jacob Taylor. Jess is a Cerberus loyalist and so went with the Cerberus one. She'll be ditching Kaidan somewhere.

Jordan Shepard: Liara and then Miranda Lawson. Miranda has the biggest booty and he'd have it for himself - forget the blue chick that he totally took advantage of. Unless they don't mind sharing....
