"why should i have to choose" i would have a threesome with liara and miranda or liara and ash williams.

some one would have to agree with it, its shepard the last hope of the galaxy and if shepard wants a threesome its about time he/she gets one.

Liara with my personal canon Male Shep soldier.

He romanced Liara in ME1, and Miranda in ME2 when Liara didn't show any interest.
 
After LotSB however it is definitely Liara again. So far she's got the best written romance of any character in the game, and she's the character that seems to care most about Shepard. She literally went through hell and back just to retrieve his body. That, and I like that with the Liara romance there are little moments where Shep can actually confide in her, and tell her that he's not sure exactly how he's going to pull off defeating the Reapers. For whatever reason, she's the only LI so far that Bioware allows Shep to let his guard down with.

And as a Spectre, having the Shadow Broker as your girlfriend is a pretty sweet bonus.

For imported ME1 Shepards there can only be one: Ashley. I like the way to convince her that aliens are indeed ok and i love her temperament. She is not this groupygirl like Liara or Tali. My ME2 Shepards always ends up with Miranda for many reasons. Once ME3 is released my Ashley Shepard will be loyal like a little dog during ME2, i dont want to have the new human spectre chasing my butt for cheating on her.

Liara is my FemShep's girl, unless Tali becomes femmanceable - Shep's had a crush on her since the first game. (and because they tore our her SS option, I didn't get to romance her in the second game. I swear it killed me when they said, "Yes Tali is romanceable ... just not for you!")

Alexis - Renegade: Cheated on Liara with Garrus, dunno what will happen in ME3 for her...Probably will cheat again with someone if it's possible, if not she'll probably pick Garrus.

I'm Garrus all the way on my 'canon' Shepard. Garrus is just one of my favorite characters overall, and I like the romance the two can have in the game. I romanced Kaiden in ME1, but I left him to die to open the way for Garrus in ME2.

I'm playing ME1 again with a male Shepard, who I will romance Tali with in ME2.

I wasn't a huge fan on the romance options in ME1. I like Liara, but Tali nudges her out. If I play a third Shepard, I'll probably go with Liara.

On my first spoiler free playthrough I romanced Kaidan in ME1 then Garrus in ME2 because seriously, what the hell Kaidan?
Will stick with Garrus in ME3 because he is undiluted awesome.

I'll probably end up doing most of the romances as I play the game. 

But... on the first try? I'll continue my romance with Tali, most likely. She is one of the few female video game characters that mirror what I see in an "ideal" woman - a confident and hardy person with a soft and sensitive core. 

Excuse the poor metaphors... but I find it hard to put to words why I like her so much.

And I'll do Liara on a second playthrough.

Junior Shepard (Earthborn/Ruthless Infiltrator)- Ashley and Miranda will be tearing each others hair out but most likely Junior's going to pick Miranda. Provided a new female LI doesn't come in the picture... 

Gabriel Shepard (Colonist/Sole Survivor Engineer)- Staying loyal and true to Jack. They are both survivors and need one another for support. 

Bobby Shepard (Spacer/War Hero Soldier)- Sticking with Tali...but not without an alien catfight starring everyone's favorite quarian and Liara (he has a thing for other species). 

Faith Shepard (Spacer/War Hero Sentinel)- Staying true and blue to Liara, who else is going to get married and have little blue children? 

Violet Shepard (Colonist/Ruthless Adept)- Sticking with Kaiden, he's going to need somebody after Samantha dumps him!

Andre Shepard (Spacer/Ruthless Vanguard)- Sticking with Ashley just because.

Ashley for my soldier Shep. They had a lot of common - military families, losing their units, basic training, etc. Plus both of them are blunt and headstrong. My Shepard wouldn't mesh well with any of the other love interests really. He and Ash just clicked.

I liked her because her romance felt not as much like a romance to me. It built pretty steadily and you could talk to her about other things, even disagree with her and tell her she was being stubborn about stuff. I felt like Ash was a pretty mature option for my Shepard. There was substance other than stars in their eyes for each other.

Liara is sweet, but not quite as sassy as my Shep likes. If things were different he might have wound up with Miranda, but again I'm not sure they really meshed as well.

Ash just seemed like the perfect, comfortable fit for my Sheppie.
