What do you guys think?

I think she's largely inconsequential. There are other characters who present a much greater interest to me. Like the main characters. Or the squad. Or the original five: Anders, Tyrol, Tory, Saul and Ellen Tigh :P LOL, couldn't resist. I, of course, meant Ashley, Garrus, Kaidan, Liara and Tali. :police:

She should be a Romance. I'm not sure adding a romance is as much work as some think it is, considering this is the last game and they don't need to refrain from adding stuffs that would be complicated to continue in the next game. A role, a few dialogue options and a romance scene would be a nice reward for those who kept her alive.

I think Shepard should get an email after completing the game with a message like:

Shepard, I'm not organizing the colony right now, and word has it that you're not... doing whatever you do.  Come see me on Feros...

She talks like William Shatner, though that may not be a positive trait.  She also happens to be the best looking Asari in ME1.

I too like, love and enjoy Shiala very much she is a interesting and wonderful character. She have a interesting History and Past, she too the only Green Asari of right now. ^^I would and will love to have her being a Romance Character and squadmate. There are other character that we haven't heard of or seen yet. They said it like up to 10 something like that or I am wrong. I am sure Shiala will be back, I hope she be back. :D

So she could die in ME1. So what? So could WREX. Doesn't stop him from being a major character.

I vote yyeeeees for Shiala to return.

As it stands Shaila is the only one left that can relate to shepard. She has the cypher too and has spent long hours around a mind controlling type of creature. I'm sad she is ill in ME2 and would think twice if she still is ill when asking her to be a crewmember sense like Jack she could blow my ship into pieces again...

I like her I was shocked by her offer especially sense my Tali was right there! I would however like her as a fling option and if she is I might just create a new mshep for the encounter sense my one is taken and loyal to Tali dear.

If she becomes stable again I wouldn't mind her on board the ship sense shep really needs someone to relate to who isn't trying to kill him! Could we have one person like this BW? I would like shep to be able to pursue a friendship with her that is deep and that he/she could confide deeply with her on the trauma ME3 will bring. And if shep makes a dumb call like sending Tali to a place where she ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and she dies I would imagine Shaila would confront him and later on in game try to make a relationship with him but don't kill Tali just for that! No prescripted Tali deaths BW!

If something happened to Tali and my shep started to become an alcoholic again I could only think that Shaila would be the last person left who could pull him away from that again.

EDIT: If she's well again in 3 make her purple not blue she was never blue BW!

She could die in ME1, but actually, since most people play paragon, she was probably spared most of the time... In fact, she might very well be "less dead" than Kaidan and Ashley ;)

She better not be a romanceable, I don't want to go back on my decision to be with Liara at the end of the series.

She's beautiful. The only other asari more beautiful than Shiala in ME1 is the asari Councilor, and the only asari even in the running in ME2 are Samara, Morinth, and Tela Vasir. There are a surprising number of "butterface" asari in the game, Nyxeris being one of the most hideous examples. Did Liara hire her so she would look hotter by comparison?

Shiala also benefits from "atmosphere". Her cutscenes on Feros have awesome lighting, and her scene is the key moment on Feros. Feros is one of the best missions in ME1 in my opinion, so her arrival at that point in the game definitely adds to her allure. And her identity as a formerly indoctrinated slave of Saren, and an acolyte of Benezia's, adds to her "reformed bad girl" mystique.

Can we at least get a quick fling with her if anything? You know, a nice "Jack quickie" on Theros would be fine with me. Image IPB Of course the Normandy would take a lot of sidetrips to Theros if that were possible and then Earth would be doomed. Image IPB

Anderson: "Joker, where are you?"
Joker: "Theros, Admiral."
Anderson: "Theros? That's two times this week."
Joker: "Uh, four actually. But who's counting?"

Although I don't think I'd be able to pull away from Liara with my main character, Shiala is my most hoped for new love interest. In Mass Effect one she immediately captivated me with her speech: "Let go of your physical shell, reach out to grasp the threads that bind us, one to another. Every action sends ripples across the galaxy. Every idea must touch another mind to live. Each emotion must mark another's spirit. We are all connected, every living being united in a single glorious existence. Open yourself to the universe commander. Embrace Eternity."
On a further note, I definitely prefer her with purple skin ;)

So much potential from a character and she probably had the least amount of "screen" time of any named individual in the game. Something definitely needs to be done with her. Something good.

I think Shiala is a woefully underused character, and I would love to see her again in ME3. The woman has the Prothean Cipher, after all, that makes her one of only two known individuals (the other being Commander Shepard, of course) who have the Cipher. The Cipher was used as a relatively minor plot point in ME1, but I think being able to "think like a Prothean" and understand their language, culture, etc., is an enormous asset that so far has been completely on the back burner.

Shiala's cipher + Shepard cipher = Reaper technology unlocked??

True, especially when you consider that she and Liara could've very well been the same character. Personally I never got why they didn't completely scrap the Caleston/Therum level and moved the recruitable asari to Feros, a place that's actually relevant to the continuation of the story. Don't get me wrong: I adore Liara, but her role in ME1's story was somewhat redundant, whereas her placement was inelegant.

One of the admins over at the wiki persists that Shepard can also receive a kiss from her if he romanced no one else so far, although I haven't seen any prove of this so far.

Shiala always intrigued me. I think it was her ramblings about galactic interconnectedness that got to me, but her uniqueness as a survivor of indoctrination has already been noted. Wish we could have recruited her but...yeah..Liara.

One of my favorite scenes from ME1;

I doubt she will even be a cameo in ME3 and that's unfortunate, but I can always be pleasantly surprised ^_^
