This OP is a work-in-progress, so bear with me (and feel free to make suggestions).


This thread's purpose is to discuss same-sex romance in Mass Effect 3. 


This thread's purpose is NOT to discuss real-world issues related to homosexuality, gender identity, politics, religion, etc. 


This thread doesn't exist for people to express that they are against the inclusion of same-sex romance either. It's been confirmed by BioWare, and if you want to petition them to take it out, do it somewhere else. 


A reminder: If you observe an instance of "trolling" or baiting, or other types of misbehavior, PM one of the moderators with a link to the offending post. I have every confidence that such things will be dealt with swiftly. NO OTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED, and please, above all, do not quote any offensive posts or respond to them.

Also, for the purposes of this thread, asari characters are female. If you somehow don't think asari are female, first get glasses, then open a biology book, then read the Codex, then take the discussion to another thread. Around here, asari are female. This thread is NOT a discussion of asari biology.

Well sex for mating/offspring purposes went out in ME1 with human/alien sex anyway so same gender sex isn't much different. Might as well get Legion in there also, human/machine sex. Maybe a goat, I don't know. I don't think there is such a thing as a moral sexual compass in the ME world anyway so Role-playing wise it shouldn't be a problem in that particular universe.

I kindda have to agree with this. I don't really care though but you don't see people making a for the love-straight thread. Somewhat pointless IMO.

It's quite simple, really. This thread is to discuss the implementation of an option BioWare has already confirmed in the game. If you want to discuss something else, like character continuity, that belongs somewhere else.

People are allowed to want "gay Kaidan", as you say, and they're allowed to talk about it here. People are allowed to say they would prefer some other option. But discussion of character continuity is not the purpose of this thread, and should be discussed in another thread. That's not so hard to understand, is it?

Discussing how it would work - how Kaidan would react. Who'd be...er...topping. Discuss if Kaidan is right for they're particular Shepard.

to be honest though, im gunna make a save file just to see how the s/s romances play out. hopefully the romance story would be deeper then:

Siansonea, I suggest putting polls in the OP for the different methods/possibilities to implement the S/S romances.

Also, putting that we don't like calibrations and forced romances either, since that's often brought up.

I think the difference is that there's a lot of speculation surrounding s/s romances (like, who will be available, how they will do it) while it can be assumed that every available LI will be an option for an o/s romance....it's actually a guaruntee since they don't limit LIs to s/s only romance.

I'm not going to be a primary consumer of m/m romances but I'll probably be doing a m/m run through eventually. The idea of a Jokermance has seemed quite appealing lately, even voted for him in a poll but Kaidan was winning that as always. So I guess I'm rooting for Kaidan as m/m LI for my friends and Joker for myself!

I thank you for your calm answer and when you put it that way,you do have a point. You have my word that I won't express my opinion on S/S (and I think you know what it is,anyway) in THIS thread anytime in future.
