Lol. Because I live in Spain and I'd like to think my descendants would survive. Besides, the weather here is just great and lately Kaidan needs a tan so badly!! (he's become whiter than Sheploo):D

Also, most of your headcannon is very similar to my Cortezmancers Shepards'. I think I have 3 m!Sheps for Cortez and 2 for Kaidan. My main one romanced Kaidan, though, since I promised him back in ME1.

@Subject Alpha: Lmao. Your ending was short but certainly satisfying, I might try that one.

Oh look, my very favorite thing :D

ME1
Shep met Ashley on Eden Prime and was impressed, but not immediately attracted. As ME1 wore on, though, they grew closer and closer; Shep had finally met someone who understood her loyalty to the Alliance and strong sense of duty, and found Ash a refreshingly snarky, cynical, outgoing counterpoint to her own slightly reserved, overly sincere, entirely-too-upbeat personality. But it was the very thing that most drew them together - their shared devotion to the Alliance - that also kept them apart, since Shepard could no more bring herself to break frat regs than to burn her uniform. So they managed to keep things to a moderately distracting simmer until the mutiny, when Ashley's firm faith in Shepard just when Shepard needed it most completely broke her resolve and led them to begin a real relationship.

Shepard pretty much gave up and accepted it after that, and they had a few months together on the relative down low (in fact the SR-1 crew was so good at keeping the secret that even Cerberus never found out) before the Collector attack and Shepard's death. Shepard had let slip to her parents how important Ash was to her before Ilos, so Hannah approached Ashley during the funeral and introduced herself and made an effort to get to know her, and the two of them became pretty friendly through the two-year course of their shared grief.

ME2
Shep's first act as soon as she could act was to report to Anderson; her second was to try to contact Ashley. Between Ashley's classified status and Cerberus interference she wasn't able to get through to her, and by the time they met on Horizon a few months later, Shepard had started to accept that it was two years later and tried to reconcile herself to the idea that Ashley had probably moved on. The idea hurt, but the thought of making Ashley's life at all harder hurt worse, so things were very tentative and ambiguous when they first met, Ashley not knowing what to believe and Shepard torn between kissing her senseless and respecting the time lost. Then Miranda confirmed the part of the rumors that Ashley had completely dismissed as ludicrous - that Shepard was working for Cerberus - and it all went to hell. Ash called Shepard a traitor and Shepard did a crap job of defending herself because quite honestly she thought Ashley was right. (ME2 was not a good time for main!Shep.) Ashley left angry and confused and Shep left brokenhearted.

From that point on the ball was firmly in Ashley's court. Shep was definitely not going to get over her in the span of a mere year, especially after Ashley sent that ambiguously reconciliatory email. Ash was finding Shep pretty hard to get over, too (she only even managed the first time because Shep was dead). So Ash got herself a couple promotions and did her thing and tried to figure things out, and Shep killed Arnold and a bunch of batarians and waited to see what Ashley wanted from her, hoping for everything but expecting nothing.

ME3
During all the drama on Mars, Shepard was subdued and almost submissive, agreeing with Ash that she wasn't necessarily trustworthy anymore, that she was wrong to do anything that might advance Cerberus' goals in any way and should have found a better way to fight the Collectors. Ashley was shocked by Shepard's obvious self-loathing and let the argument lie, and ended up in the hospital before she could get back to it. Shepard visited her constantly and was solicitous and desperately worried, but forced herself to always let Ash set the tone and never act more friendly or intimate than Ash seemed comfortable with. Ashley let that go on for about one visit before she challenged Shep on it, asking her where they stood and apologizing for Horizon and the fact that she always knew that Shep would never betray the Alliance or the principles they stood for. Shep admitted she was still in love, Ashley said she'd realized she was too, and they slowly worked themselves back toward a comfortable partnership by the time they hit Rannoch.

As for the aftermath, well, bugger the ending generally. They defeat the Reapers, save civilization-as-they-know-it, mass relays and all, and do not, actually, ride off into the sunset; they continue to serve as Spectres, helping to bring order and safety back to the war-torn galaxy one thrilling mission at a time, to the end of their long, happy lives. They might even eventually have kids, though after raising a tank-born krogan and a Cerberus AI the normal kind seem a little mundane for Shepard XD

Well ME1 would be Shepard trying like hell to stay professional about his lust for Kaidan, then Virmire sealing the deal. He'd never have been able to tell him he chose Kaidan over Ashley because he was growing feelings. Lotta cold showers and um... self-relief.

For 2 I stayed single but I'd have headcanoned that Shep and Jack confided in one another and I'd imagine she made fun of him A LOT for liking men.(It's so her!)

For 3 I just saw him finally just going for it with Kaidan since it's like the end of days and all. Then it would have ended for me with Harbinger killing Shepard at the beam and Hackett and the fleet beating their asses into the floor. (with enough EMS) It's sad sure but at least it'd make some god damn sense. The citadel survives, the relays survive, and Kaidan loses Shepard...again. :( Sad but I'd accept that.

Of course I have this self-sacrifice complex too. I used equal love the first time I played through DA:O and chose to sacrifice myself there too. Seeing Alistair look at my dead body was... tough, but so sweet.

In related news, Ash is really sweet and supportive and intimate and, like... herself in the actual Last Night sex scene.

(Also really hot. Deliberately Plain main!Shep would feel very frumpy by comparison if she didn't have a fantastic woman in her bed to distract her.)

What the hell happened to that Ash during the rest of the game? :crying:

Heck, I don't know. I loved my o/s Ashley whenever she was actually in the game. As much as I thought Bioware did a good job with Cortez, ME3 has pretty much confirmed my belief that is probably easier to make quality romances if you keep the number of LIs down and make them available for everyone. I should have got more o/s Ashley and you should have had some s/s Ashley. And there should have been only four ME2 LIs max.

Nice to know my Shep's brother is a ****! (rhymes with door -_-, stupid censor)

Some new datapad app mails. I finished Tuchanka(Wrex+Eve, Mordin died(tear up every god damn time) Did the Citadel Coup, and a few of the small sidequests that follow, including mackin on Steve and it was WONDEROUS!

Garrus: Asked around about that Turian team on Tuchanka but got stonewalled. Whatever it is, it's big.

Jack: Rodriquez just ripped a husk's head off. May be some hope for her yet.

Liara: Hope that in a few centuries, the Reapers are just a long-faded memory. Thanks for the visit.

Javik: Water is significantly more intuitive than this clumsy apparatus I am limited in how many charact- (poor Javik discovering twitter)

James: Hell of a thing down there. Glad that thresher maw's on our side, huh?

Garrus: For a guy named "Joker", he tells some terrible ones. With the krogan on our side, I guess he's allowed to celebrate.

Liara: Message out and away. Perhaps the hanar will be building statues to you in 50,000 years...

EDI: Shepard, when you have time, I have another question for you. Actually, I have 1,623,058, but I'm pacing myself.(god damn woman!)

Grunt: Healing up. Bored.

Thane: Shepard, if you can come, hurry. Not much time. ( :( )

Kaidan: I got my things and set up on the starboard observation deck. Come by whenever you like, okay? Door's open. (sooo many naughty thoughts, poor Steve ._.)

Bailey: Hell of a mess down here. Could've been a lot worse, though. Thanks

Garrus: Glad we didn't have to add a name to this wall, Shepard. Thanks for coming by.

EDI: Thank you for discussing my questions. Speaking with you results in better advice than searching the extranet. (EDI fails at google?!)

Traynor: Thanks for having me up, Commander. And for being a good sport when I destroyed you at chess.

Kaidan: Thanks for listening. Only place I'd rather be right now is Earth and if I can't be there, I'm glad I'm here. (and I wasn't even romancing him! Down boy!)

Noles: Thanks for helping me track down those codes. No further trouble on my end. Good luck with the batarian fleet. (the Bring Down the Sky followup quest)

Allers: Interview has aired--and it's getting re-run all over the place! You and your household name....

Chakwas: Thanks for speaking to the refugees, Commander.

James: Damn, yeah, this ink stings a bit more than usual. Still worth it, though. (Big baby!)

Joker: Thanks for coming by, Commander. Liquid courage wasn't cutting it. Needed the old -fashioned kind.

Solik Vass: (Guy who makes a refugee documentary) The vid is coming together amazingly, Commander. This is going to get people stirred up!

Conrad: Wow, Jenna is really something! And she likes me!(back up lady, Conrad's mine!) Listen, if you ever need help on the Normandy, just let me know! (Conrad, I need some help!)

James: Thanks for showing me the shiny digs. Still not sure if N7's right for me, but the talk helps.

Jack: Thanks for helping me out with shore leave. Also, you're still a crappy dancer. (<3 you too Jack)

HOOOOOLY LOT OF MESSAGES! -_-

I am now disappointed I couldn't sleep with Conrad...

Hello everyone.

I have a confession to make. I am not playing ME3, but rather Fable III. Why, because if I put some effort (and patience) into it, I can actually win (and yes I do view a good game ending as winning the game).

BTW why did all that talk of Tali's VA remind me of a story I heard about Robert Beltran quite a few years ago?

I enjoyed Fable 3 for what it was, a very light hearted RPG trying to be more serious than it is. I also had a rather awkward moment when I told a lady friend of mine that we had to go get married ingame and have sex and get her pregnant >.> ...for the achievements. Being a gay king was totally a dream come true too. So sad how much people take things like that for granted, while us "homos" can only dream. Totally offtopic though! :P

any of you on PC playing MP?

Drak, I take it you encouraged the EDI/Joker disaster? I wonder what Joker has to say there (if anything) if you tell him to back off.

(I'm still baffled Joker wasn't a bi romance option, it would be such an elegant solution to so many problems. Though it might interfere with him being such a weirdly dudebro-y jackass in 3, and I guess we can't have that? Joker what happened to you dude.)

im not at all baffled Joker wasnt a romance option he never gave me the romance vibe at all and JokerXedi was kind of obvious even back in 2 (even if she didnt have a body back then)

then again i also dont think every romance option should be bi because i hate it when they just make a romance and have it almost exactly between male/female so what do i know

Can I just add, as a female gamer I felt incredibly disgusted by the "EDI" squadmember.

That EDI is somehow not really a character and unable to develop as such with a "super sexy robot body" (Joker's words, not mine). I kind of liked how EDI had character development in ME2 and didn't need a body. Granted it was a stilted character development, but all characters in ME2 had that problem. And this whole Joker/EDI romance sub-plot that you work your way through not only cheapens EDI as a character but they managed to cheapen Joker as well.

I know this isn't the thread to b**** on, but this thread is my home and all you guys are my family. And if you can't b**** to your family in your home, to whom and where can you b**** is the question.

I didn't have a problem with Edi..she was sexy but she was still opinionated and strong. She didn't need to develop as much because you knew she was analytical and would get the job done

That is what I asked myself. All that talk about whether or not Tali's VA was comfortable with s/s content and that being the reason it wasn't included reminded me of a story I heard about Robert Beltran.

It doesn't have anything to do with the argument but it reminded me strong of this story I heard years ago:

It happened shortly after the end of Voyager. Beltran was in England doing a intimate Q & A thing, it was just him and a hundred (maybe not that many) Star Trek fans in a pub. When he was questioned about Chakotay's romance with Seven he allegedly went on a bit of a rant. Allegedly when he was casted he was told that Chakotay was GAY, and also he was told that Chakotay and Tom Paris had a "sexual history", and that story would feature in a least one episode with a possible payoff of them being in a relationship. Both Beltran and McNeill were accepting of this and Beltran allegedly said that he was looking forward to it. Allegedly "The Network" found out and forced the writers to drop the story line. Which is just one more tale for the "Unfortunate Truth" about Star Trek.

Again I state this as an alleged rumor, and also that I have no idea why this story came to mind when talking about the rumor's of Tali's s/s status.

The are several messages that seem to come across and not all of them are pleasant, is why I have a problem with them.

1, We as the audience will not care for EDI as a entity/person because she does not have a body.

I honestly think that forcing the audience to ask istself do we care for the Geth because they have platforms (bodies) that we can anthropromise (certain I am not spelling that right, but I am running with it) and therefore relate to better. Or can we care about all AI in the various forms that we can run across.

2, Super hot sexy robot body.

I seriously hope that no-one cannot understand why this bothers me. (The sci-fi genre is rife with the nerd builds a perfect woman trope and yes I equate EDI's new body as to fitting into this trope.)

3, Joker (like a lot of Pilots) are written to be attached to the ship/craft/whatever they pilot.

It is like a creative staple, pilots are attached to the ship/craft/whatever they pilot (I honestly don't think it is a bad staple). However it was hinted at in ME2 and made worse in ME3, that while Joker's attachment to the ship is perfectly fine, as soon as EDI becomes the Normandy, becomes "unshackled" that Joker's attachment to the Normandy somehow becomes somthing perverted.

4, A disabled person cannot have a "real" relationship.

This kind of fits into the building a perfect woman trope I mentioned in 2. That someone is unable to have a "real" relationship with another person so an artifical construct is presented to them so they can simulate having a relationship.

Those are the reasons that I am bothered by EDI's new body.

wow, I'm willing to believe that story about Chakotay/Paris having a romance
but maybe I'm biased because ST:VOY introduced me to slash many many years ago *thinks back* ... like REALLY many many years ago ... I feel old now.
though I'm surprised Beltran being okey with it, wouldn't have expected that

as for EDI
I don't mind her getting a body, but I mind her getting this body
did any of you read the notes in the artbook?
it starts off with "EDI's body needed to be sexy, chrome and robotic, [...]" ... erm, no it doesn't!
if you go with the in-game lore thing, than it's an infiltration unit ... why does an infiltration unit have to look like the robot sex toys from other scifi movies/shows/anime?

are there really that many male gamers (I doubt they're doing it for lesbian gamers) that are so eager for a glimpse at boobies that gaming companies keep sexing up the designs of females in their games?
if they do it, then at least it should fit the character; I mean Isabela's boobs are well, they're huge, but it suits her.

I'm dreading to do it to stay 'canon' for MEC, just need to point this out somewhere at some point <_<

I sometimes wonder if the whole EDI body is just an inside joke.  Seth Green (Joker's voice) produces "Robot Chicken" and there's a nerd character on it that has talked about the "sssshexy robot lady" a lot.  Maybe they just thought it'd be funny to do to Seth ...?

The thing that bugs me most is that the average age of gamers is in the 30s right, and add to that that 40% of gamers are women?(yeah they play more "casual" games, but I know lots of hardcore lady gamers, so it's not a very good stereotype) I would hope a guy in his 30s+ isn't as immature about sexuality as the kids in their teens... You should see the concept art for EDI, she had nipples even... And all the concept art for Jack she's completely topless, period. I just think there's a bit of a lack of maturity from some of the higher ups at Bioware. I know men are not THAT shallow... right? <_< People wonder why most games are still BARELY considered art? Because they've yet to grow up. *end rant* Sorry!

I enjoyed EDI's maturation in ME3, but her body was so... juvenille.

EDI looked like a bot from an 80s movie. Reminded me of Austin Powers for some reason.
