For those curious, I think only 2 of: EDI, James, Javik, Liara would be alive if you play the games absolutely horribly. and if you never got Javik you can essentially kill everyone. EDI would die in the destroy ending and Liara and James would die to the Harbinger beam if your EMS was low enough. Everyone else can die/be murdered/kill themselves throughout 2 or 3. >.> That would be one VERY mentally ill Shepard at the end of that war.

What's messed up is that you can personally murder uh... Wrex, Mordin, Kaidan/Ashley, Legion, Zaeed, and through certain circumstances, Jack; and stand by and watch Samara and Tali off themselves. That Shepard is a great guy/gal

Wrex can live... And Miri can die if you miss some things. And Liara can die in the end. Everybody dies!!!!! If Shep survives the end, he's really going to need a PTSD therapy (I see dead people... and aliens... everywhere). M.

According to my game:
Kaidan - NEVER DIES
Ashley - Nuked
Garrus - Immortal*
Tali - Harninged in ME2
Liara - Lived*
Wrex - Lived*
Miranda - Lived* **
Jacob - Lived*
Jack - Lived*
Grunt - Lived* **
Samara - Yacked by a she in a hard hat.
Morinth - Banshified
Thane - Leng'd
Kasumi - Disintegrated in ME2
Zaeed - Lived*
Legion - Sacrificed
Mordin - Died a hero
Javik - Lived
Edi - Presumed Dead
James - Lived*

* Given having survived passed ending
** can die other way in ME3 that i know of.

In my game, after choosing the "destroy" option and seeing the beautiful red light  I experienced space magic :wizard:  : Kaidan and James, whom I had taken to London, got off the board of Normandy after Joker; then a cutscene in which Shepard lived and lied under debris. EDI was most likely dead.

Wanted to share this piece, I was inspired by the goodbye scene where
Kaidan says to Shepard how he's going to "fight like hell for the chance
to hold you again." Could be Shepard waking from indoctrination or
bleeding to death after the destruction ending. I'm waiting to see what
the DLC will be and then make up my mind. Or if it doesn't fit at all
then it'll just be my own imagined ending but having Kaidan magically
teleport to the Normandy will simply not do for me.

I thought Aethyta's conversations were really clever, if anything she tells Shepard off for assuming (like an anthropocentric dick) that there'd necessarily be human-esque gender roles in asari families.

Except that that's exactly what she's doing by saying "Father." She's bringing human-esque (and entirely bullspit) gender roles into a place where they don't belong and don't apply.

It's also worth pointing out that the asari word for 'partner who birthed the child' versus 'partner who didn't birth the child' might just translate to the rough human 'mother' and 'father', purely for ease of translation (or maybe, y'know, because the writers wanted it that way) and has no actual bearing on the roles of those parents in raising the child.

Ok, see, that's exactly the point. There is no universal translator. There is no asari language. If Weeks wrote the word "father" in that conversation, if Weeks decided that "other partner" translates to "father" rather than one of many completely available, completely comprehensible existing English terms, that is entirely his decision as a writer. It didn't "just happen", it isn't "just that way." It's a choice by a modern Western man living in a heteronormative society. Which doesn't, at all, take into account the reality of a society with no gender roles or the way that non-heterosexual relationships work. Which is annoying. If there's any virtue at all to the skeezy asari Hot Blue Bisexual Space Babe crap it's that you can use them to explore non-normative gender roles and to demonstrate that not every couple has to have some nonsense, arbitrary "male" and "female" partnership setup. Having an asari, of all people, vehemently assert that those roles do exist, and, further, accuse Shepard of small-mindedness for implying otherwise, is obnoxioius at best, insulting at worst. I expect better from Weeks, who's a pretty forward-thinking guy as a general pattern.

It's not worth over-analysing flavour text.

Really? Pinecone, I'm disappointed. You know better than to pull the "it's just a game" card. :(

@Andreas: That is fantastic:blink:

My SHep is colonist/sole survivor. He has a thing about dead people - he doesn't want that to happen. So I try to save as much of them as I can. Unfortunately, Ash, Thane, Mordin and Legion die Image IPB...
@Andreas: Oh, wow, beautiful Image IPB! M.

If you drew this, I hope you plan on submitting this to Chris so they can consider showing it off at PAX.

Very well done.

In regards to the ME3 iOS app: I completed the game with over 5000EMS. Kaidan sent me a message, about 1-2 days after the destroy ending, with my Shepard presumed alive. He is apparently trying to see me, if they let him.

Thanks guys, I changed some things about it. The position of his legs were bothering me plus Kaidan's and Shepard's faces looked a little off. I changed the file on here and if you want a larger size you can view it on my deviantart page http://dunechampion.deviantart.com
I'm still not finished though so I'll probably keep updating in the near future but only on the deviantart page.
I will send it to Chris but not sure if it will get shown since it seems like they mainly want Dragon Age stuff.

I find that astonishingly difficult to believe. Salarians don't have sex drives.

Edit: Admiration of aesthetic beauty is not sexuality.

That's really simplistic.

But also very Bioware.

@Criz-Zone Your artwork always makes me :crying: . I have become such a fan!!!

@AndreasShepard You must submit this to PAX. It is a moral imperative!!!

Would love to see y'all do artwork that inspires hope - a Kaidan/M!Shep post-Citadel reunion, perhaps? (hint, hint, hint, hint)

You can hardly accuse the author of being a covert shill for the patriarchy.

And if the writers (the actual writer was Patrick Weekes for that scene) thought players would be less confused by assigning the human terms 'mother' and 'father' to asari norms, instead of 'partner who birthed' and 'other partner', I don't see the problem.

Liara called Benezia 'mother' in ME; it's entirely possible (even probable) that asari really do have cultural norms about both parents, and the language reflects this by differeniating them. I know she called Benezia's bondmate a different term in the first game, but that was changed.

If the complaint is that the asari don't effectively smash heteronormativity enough, I'd wonder to what degree the content would have to go before that's satisfied. I see no problems in including familiar (anthropocentric, even) concepts because without them the experience would be so alien as to be distracting.

I'm pretty sure that's a bug, it's meant to trigger at the start of the game and not the end. It refers to Kaidan seeing Shepard in Vancouver while Shep's in detention.

Beautiful, truly.  I imagine it as Kaidan crying tears of joy at their victorious reunion ... :)

It would be nice to see Kaidan (or Ash, or the LI) rescue Shep at the end.  I mean, how many times does Shep pick up and carry Kaidan or Ash to safety in the series (Virmire, and Mars, to count two).  It'd be nice to see the reverse happen.

Hmm... Somehow it seems odd to see Shep rescued by their LI, in my opinion. It's him who's supposed to be strong,  reliable and supportive. Still, a scene where Shep makes their way to the beloved and the beloved making their way to Shep at the same time would present a nice balance, I think.

But Shep has *always* been strong, and reliable, and there's all this allusion in ME3 to his/her stress level ... wouldn't it be nice, at the end of the series, to have Shep just have someone else to pick him/her up for once?  It's the romantic in me, I guess.  :)

I too would love to see the LI come to Shepard's rescue. It would show a vulnerability that would deepen their relationship.  After all, Shepard said it himself at the Citadel date with Kaidan: "It would be nice to turn to someone when things get grim. Someone to live for. Maybe love." Image IPB

An LI  (or even Garrus / favorite squadmate) saving Shepard from an explosion on the Citadel would have been such an epic moment.  Truly a missed opportunity.  What happened, BioWare?
