I absolutely refuse to admit that the writers could be so cold and heartless to finally bring M!Shep and Kaidan together after all this time only to tear them apart -- especially after lines like "When this is over, I'm gonna be waiting for you. You better show up!"  and yes, "I'm gonna fight like hell for the chance to hold you again."


No f*****g way.

You know Daashi, nowadays I strongly get this idea. Not in what everybody thinks(EA rushing the games etc.) tho'.  If you remember Prince's or George Michael's incidents in the past, I see current situation like that. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe I am right. No matter what we can never truly know it.

I'm a lazy artist, too, otherwise I'd draw grand pieces, practise human proportion, add backgrounds for a change ... you know ... actually draw a complete picture and not just chibis floating on white ...
alas for as long as I enjoy drawing them and others enjoy looking at them I shall continue

there'd be no harm in practising other things and expanding though, I guess ...

No way! Your chibis are awesome. Yeah, as artist we tend to be our most cruel critiques. However for me drawing chibis is hardest thing there is.

You need to make them cute also they need to pass feelings. While most chibis feels like copy paste drawings, you have fairly unique style. As I grown up drawing (or trying to draw in better wording) comic book heroes, for me style > grand pieces. Style what makes your works shine no matter what you draw.

While talking about drawing, my imagination's working over time nowadays and head flood with ideas. Better get back to drawing board and start taking notes (I take note of my ideas as drawings).

Saw the Kaidan one you posted and there is nothing lazy about that at all!  It was beautifully done, and very heartbreaking (so I guess "damn you!" for that, id prefer to finish my coffee before my heart is broken )

I just finished a modded playthrough with Tali as imported LI (since I don't have the stomach to romance her for real in ME2) then I committed to Steve and she acknoleged it!!

Gonna try with Kaidan, even though he didn't recognise my old (modded) romance with Liara last time, and said the "you were so focus on work back then..." line and Steve's line changed to the "you haven't been involved with anyone yet" instead of the "...you haven't bitten yet" one.

Anyone had their ME1 romance (Ash or Liara) recognised by Kaidan in the sex/romance scene?

No, and I thought that was a little strange too.  I can understand him not knowing about Miranda, but he was there for the near Ashley/Liara catfight, and my eventual Liara relationship.

I know that even though my Shep was with Liara for 3 games, and even after Shep says to Liara in ME3 that he wants to be with her, Kaidan still hits on that Shep. Which cheapened (correct spelling?) the relationship for me. I reloaded, fixed that, i.e. continued Shep with Liara relationship before talking to anyone in act2 and continued the game.
Now, I'm on DA2. Enough ME3 for me. M.

@Frozen83: You mean even if you commit to Liara before getting the VS, it's not flagged as true love until the post coup Citadel conversation? I thought that would lock all the other romances.

I think I'm gonna play DA2 as well, after trying "Shepard leaves Tali for Kaidan" playthrough, too bad there's no new DLC anymore. Loved the Mark of the Assasin.

You get LI talk on Mars with her, she sits on your lap on the Normandy at one point and says "Flatterer" and kisses you. But, it seems like everything is open after the coup (like someone hit reset button). Steve and Kaidan have the same dialogues with you as with "forever alone" import. M.

If I am not mistaken you can start romance with Liara on ME1. ME2 just confirming her romance. As you alrdeay did your choice between two on ME1 that will leave Thane, Jacob and Garrus options for Kaidan to acknowledge (I guess he says somethings about Jacob to female Shep but never played Kaidan romance with a femShep). For Male Shepards writers assumed Kaidan didn't care who Shep banged during ME2 I guess.

Also as far as I know, both VS doesn't recognize Kelly as romance, just like game imports.

Ashley on the other hand mentions Miranda (Miranda Lawson?) and Jack, even renegade sex with her (convict with shaved head). Didn't do any Ash/Tali run so far but I am planning to after finishing Matt's ME1 to ME3 run.


All squadie romances are confirmed/locked during Citadel dates as far as I know. So you can't blame Kaidan for trying.  This is why avoid everyone on Cİtadel and talk to Kaidan first. It is cruel to give people false hopes.

If anyone wants to write a letter talking about their disappointments, wish-there-woulda-beens, what they loved, what they didn't love so much, whatever, concerning the romances in ME3 here's the thread to go to find out more info.

Thank you for the reminder! I sent off a letter thanking BioWare for allowing M!Sheps to romance Kaidan and complimenting them for the cinematic 'feel' of the romance arc, basically saying that if the Mass Effect games were like movies in a trilogy, the love scene between Shepard and Kaidan would qualify as the trilogy's emotional payoff. I also told them that it broke my heart that their relationship was cut short by the ending, especially when we were given lines like 'When this is over I'm gonna be waiting for you. You better be there." and "I'm gonna fight like hell for the chance to hold you again."  I then let them know that I hope that would still happen.


I'm waiting for a confirmation message from the thread's OP to make sure my message is within his guidelines. I'll keep you posted.

I really need to thank that artist. I've this person's work around with male and female shepards with the various LIs, and thought that they merely took the character models out of the game (an amazing achievement even if it was that), but this, they retored Kaidan's pan-Asian features! Thank god! Could someone give me the link to the artist, I want to thank them.

I was reading IGN ME3 romance guide and stuck on this:

"Kaidan DOES make a pass at Male Shepard in the Presidium Commons after Priority: Citadel 1, with no prior relationship from Mass Effect 1 or 2. This, however, does not indicate or lead to a relationship by itself; "

Ain't he unconscious during your first Citadel visit? Which pass they are mentioning? As they are mentioning Whiskey later in article I doubt it is "Are you flirting with me Commander?" line from Kaidan. Maybe I should drag unconscious Kaidan to Commons from Hospital to make a pass at me.

Citadel scene/Date is romance lockdown/confirmation stage. Whiskey is the first step leading to his romance.

Only thing I can think like pass is during Mars/Last Cerberus conversation ending. "You were always stubborn" line comes off a bit flirty (tho' flagged or ME1 romanced m/m one utterly hilarious).

I was playing the game hoping to gaymance Kaidan, and was afraid i might have killed it early by forgetting to buy his bottle of booze (Chakwas would have stolen it, anyway). Then i got the romance music then i melted at how cute mshep and Kai were *melts again*
