I tried to sing it, but it's really not very catchy.
I did sign it though.

I have to say I am confused as to why I should sign it.
First of all, last time I heard anything about same sex romance plots was something they were planning on putting it in sometime in the future, however there was no immediate plans plans for it, nor was there actually anybody working on them!
Second, it was Lucas Arts that is the reason KOTOR 1 & 2 didn't have any same sex romance options, so why is Lucas Arts willing to have them in SWTOR?
Third, EA has never put homosexual content in its games unless it was brought in by a developer they brought (Maxis, BioWare).
Fourth, it smells a lot like a publisity campaign by EA, this whole "bycott EA because they allow homosexual content in their games" came out only a couple of days after EA won the Consumerist Golden Poo. After all, this is the company that produced a fake protest for Dante's Inferno.

As far as I know, Maxis's the Sims, did not allow same-sex marriages (romance only). That change was implemented in the Sims 3, under EA. How many games with optional romances did EA publish prior to aquiring Maxis and BioWare?Daashi wrote...

Ain't marriage in the Sims started with the Sims 2? On first game, if my memory serves, hetero couples could have a baby with kissing. Also there wasn't any Woohoo option in first game. On the contrary the Sims 2's purpose and weddings cut scenes were better than Sims 3.
On second game all couples can get married and adopt a child which continued into the Sims 3.

Actually in the Sims you could marry someone of the same gender. One of my favourite moments including that. (I convinced my mum to have a go, and she ended up with one guy proposing to another guy, then that guy dressed up in a wedding gown and then proceeded to chase his carpool down the street.)
Also back in the "good ole days" when EA just owned the publishing rights they tried to get Maxis to remove the homosexual content of the game.

Governments have tried to block it. People try to stop it, but people have a right to not buy things they think are wrong. Great civil disobedience tool. I look on these forums and think it is taken too far... but it is a right. A right everyone has to use.
Sadly like any right it can be used for evil. But just because some people preach bad religion or speak angry things does not mean you should get rid of free speech or religion.

I don't think anyone is trying to stop people from boycotting. EA has been the target of a protest over homosexual content in its games. The company has responded by stating that they will continue to try to be inclusive. Now people who are in support of that position are signing a statement to that effect. No one's right to free speech is being violated.

Well, in Sims 3 there are no differences between gay or str8 marriages, adoption or whatever. But, I've read somewhere that your sim is actually bi, and you set his preference with interactions with other. If you do make your sim gay, then the game allows other NPCs to be gay also (randomly), so you get gay NPCs married together. If you make your sim str8, then that doesn't appear in the game. DOn't know if it is true, but seems plausible. M.Daashi wrote...

I remember that as well. They give a name to that system which escapes me now. If your sim is gay it opens up other male sims to check your sim or hit on him.
However no matter how I tried I couldn't create all gay town. Even if you remove all NPCs and change their everything (homes, works etc.) game still puts in children and straight couples.
Also all sims are bi as my favorite flirt material was that police officer who is on his way to marry with his girlfriend.
Anyway back to ME.
I started modded ME1 run with a female shep for romancing Ashley. My femShep, Carrie goes all renegade. Oh my, ME1 is the best game to be renegade. Most answers are cracking me up, especially when I talk with Council.
While romancing with Ashley I have a chance to know her better. Yes, she is biased towards aliens. However she is very nice person if you pass that. Unluckily you can only see that if you romance her. Same applies to Kaidan, you need to romance him to get extra info out of him (like his dad's Allience duty, he doesn't say that to friendly Sheps). Pity it is kinda same on ME2, if you don't romance with Miranda or Garrus you get very little out of them. Mordin and Thane are best friendly crew members.
I am planning to romance with Garrus on ME2 with Carrie. Anyone knows if Ashley recognize those straight relationships?

Sorry for the random post but this sounds hilarious
Took a look at the petition ... statement ... thing, it appears to be unsignable at the moment due to spammers. This is so stupid. I look forward to the day when this is a complete non-issue, though the way things are I won't be surprised to be dead before that day comes.
On a more ME3-related note ... I'm sad at the low amount of Kelly in this game. I'm in the minority here, but my Shepard is lonely.

Less kids playing Battlefield, because their parents won't allow it, so they have to play COD instead.
Less kids playing TOR, becausetheir parents won't allow it, so they have to play WoW instead.
COD - a game for kids
BF - a game for a more mature audience
WoW - a game for kids
TOR - a game for a more mature audience
It doesn't matter for the Mass Effect or Dragon Age series either way, since those are already rated M for Mature. Why the hell would you give your 13 year old kid a clearly M rated game, and then complain about the content of that game?

The idea that being homosexual is something inappropriate for a child to witness is insupportable - as if gay people weren't fathers or mothers or sisters or brothers.
Indeed I would argue it is very important for children to be exposed to homosexual love so that it is normalised for them and helps them grow up to not be afraid to love who they want and to be accepting of others.
One day, it will be a non-issue, people won't have to 'come out' as gay, they can simply be gay.
I have great respect and admiration for EA and bioware for being so inclusive with their games.

Unfortunately, many parents view it as something that is a "disease" that needs to be cured. No reason to expose them to the "immoralties of people unable to resist their urges of their obvious defect." Not really understanding that not exposing them can have serious consequences. Not even the consequences of "my child might decide to hook up with another man/woman" but if that child doesn't feel accepted, they will feel the need to lash out and eventually run away from an family obviously not willing to simply let them be who they are but rather paints a mark of shame on their forehead as if it were the mark of Cain.Em23 wrote...

I have great respect for BioWare and its inclusion of homoseuality. But I am old enough to remember some of the s*** EA has pulled in the past, so EA, not much respect.
But I will say this about EA, they're no Rick Berman, so props to EA I suppose.

The last I heard no-one is being hired to do VAs, so my answer would be no. However I have been told the VA is one of the last things they do, so VAs might be hired in the comming months.
I heard that they are only planning on adding cut-scenes (info is thin on the ground concerning this) but I think that what it will address is the fact Liara replaces your ME2 & 3 LI in the flashback sequence. Along with a few other scenes that basically say; "Hey it's not space magic, so stop referring to it as space magic and its not circular logic because we say so, so there!"
What can I say, in my mind BW went from a company that made games I must own, to a company I must buy at a later date (used), it pretty sad, considering BW was the only ones making games that I really want to play.
