I hope EC include additional Romance (not sex) Scence and Reunite Scene, no matter Shepard live or dead

for Cortez it will really hurt if his love die again.

I'm willing to concede that my previous predictions might be a little too extreme.

I just went through a replay of ME 2, and found the planet I think the Normandy crashed on. It's the planet Zorya, in the Faia System, Ismar Frontier. It is where Zaheed's loyalty mission takes place.

After the shuttle lands, Shepard gets out and looks up to see the same double moons that the survivors of the crash in ME 3 see. The planet is a jungle planet, but has a refinery, satellite communications, and a population. It's also the homeworld of the Blue Suns.

Here's a description of it, including two satellites (moons):
http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Zorya

So I'm optimistic that things would work out pretty well for the same-sex partners who survived the crash.

I can post screenshots if there's a place to do so.

Cheers~

I am wondering if the new EC means at least a little more time with Cortez. IMO, he didn't get as much treatment as Kaiden.

Liara, Kaidan, and Asheley LI got the most... then everyone else was given a bone.   It's not just the S/S romances.

M!Shepard and Kaidan got an 'I love you' this time. Granted, not during the love scene, but still, they SAY it. BioWare, you're still on Normandy hull cleaning duty, but you'll get a space suit to wear for this.

I thought the scene with Kaidan and mShep saying I love you was perfect. I knew there was a 'LI leaves and says goodbye at the beam' scene but I had no idea the Kaidan and mShep's one would be so amazing. I'm so glad they included it. It was really worth fighting two hours from the Cerberus base to get to that scene XD.

Unfortunately if you're not romancing a squadmate you can't even get that scene :( at least we got a memorial scene for the s/s LIs?

Me2 squadmates got the short end of the stick again with both scenes...do they at least get a slideshow of them?

I'm happy that it ended up being this new scene instead of the romance one for them to finally say that they love each other.  During the date scene on the citadel Shepard had talked about how it'd be nice to have someone to live for, maybe love.  So seeing him finally tell Kaidan he loved him at the most pivitol moment in their entire romace just seemed to fit perfectly as it suggested that no matter what happened Kaidan had become that person to Shep.  Not to mention the look on Kaidan's face when those words hit him, and the way he smiled back at Shepard and said he loved him too.  God it was so damn emotional,  I was sort of in shock afterwards at just how awesome it was to finally see their romance given that kind of treatment.

I didn't expect that scene at all. I heard some poeple mentioning about how Harbinger not shooting the Normandy seem ridiculous. I thought it's just that. And then it's that scene!!

Haven't been able to play it yet. When exactly over the course of the game does this happen? Do I have through from the Cerberus base. Or can I just reload from the point Shepard goes up to the Citadel?

load a save in london and have Kaidan in your squad, around the beam area it happens.

Yeah, it not being in the love scene doesn't really bother me. The 'hull cleaning' is more because it took as long as it did for my Shepards to get their hands on dat biotic ass. :P

If there's one thing that the extended cut did perfectly, it's this.

It MAKES their final moments together. The farewell conversation is nothing compared to this (not to say that it's not still great, or that this scene would be as effective if they weren't both in there, but what we get now really is the last time they see each other, and they actually got it right).

The epilogue may be kind of a mess, but I finally felt "rewarded" after grinding through the final stretch. (Finally, something with some emotional payoff; I almost didn't think it would be possible with this ending.)

I agree with the others who said that it was better that Kaidan and MShep said "I love you" to each other after the run to the beam. It just had a more powerful effect that way.

I'm happy with the EC. :]

I had a savefile from my Cortez runthrough right at the Citdel, so I loaded up that just to see the EC changes. After I checked out all three endings (it was nice to see Cortez make an appearance), I figured switching to my Kaidan runthrough and playing through TIM's base and London would be worth it just to see Kaidan at the memorial wall. Imagine my surprise to get the extraction scene.

I agree that it was pretty ridiculous that Normandy was able to just swoop in, and leave unharmed. BUT, it was awesome to finally be able to say "I love you." That moment was so great that I can overlook the fact that Normandy probably should have been turned into a trash heap. I think a better option would have been if Shepard called for an extraction, and Joker responds with something like: "Negative; site's too hot. But I've got someone on the line who might be able to reach you." Then, as Cortez lands in a shuttle, he could have a cheesy line like: "Figured you might need a hand," or "Just thought I'd drop in." And what the hell, let's make the shuttle a Trident!

Also, I found a "4th ending" this time, did I miss it my first playthrough, or was this added with the EC?

I think it's worth suspending your disbelief.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, but it's there for the emotional impact. They give you a chance to connect with the characters you've brought to the final push, the last stand. And they show you that Kaidan doesn't run away. You do everything you can to keep him safe, and the dialogue makes this clear: because you love him, and this may be the last thing you get to do for him.

The whole fleet could come down to pick them up, and I'd still be OK with it. :-)

But Cortez can die. :(

So then you'd have a random shuttle with a random pilot with minimal armanent and no Reaper IFF. Thinking the Normandy could make it is silly, but so is thinking that a little shuttle would be any better off. (Not to mention that they would still have to get back to the Normandy somehow.)

It's the all-new "Don't like our ending? Well, F U." ending from BioWare.

They couldn't do this for free without some sort of backhand, I guess. :-)

With this EC "I love you" thing, I think Kaidan's romance arc (from friendship in one game, to messed up feelings in other and finally love at the end) is the best not only in ME series but in Bioware, IMO though.

It was as if they couldn't afford to be afraid to say it anymore because there could be no more chances. And Kaidan's surprised face right before answering, and then he trying to reach Shepard with his hands whilst he was getting away, I just melted.

And the fact that in destroy they'll meet again after the war's over just make it even better. I'm so happy I don't even care about plot holes anymore! :P

He's definitely one of my favorite characters, but this is really one of the few instances we get an arc that spans so many games. So he does have a bit of an advantage. (David typically writes my favorite characters, but we usually only get one game to really develop a relationship with them.)

I interpreted it a bit differently. I didn't think this was the first time they would have told each other how they felt, even though this is the first time we have legitimately heard it (and I think it came about perfectly—and I agree with you it's a tremendous payoff for those who wanted a relationship with Kaidan from the very first game, more than I would have expected).

Rather, at the moment, there was nothing else they could say. It was Shepard's way of saying goodbye, and for Kaidan to continue on no matter what happened.

This was the point where we get something we never got with the original ending: we get to save Kaidan, and we get to truly say goodbye. That alone improves the ending immeasurably for me. And even with all the other things I didn't think are as satisfying as I'd hoped for, this is one of the scenes that will make it OK for me to play again someday (probably not that soon, though).

RIght, but it's not just that, is the fact that it's not just love at first sight (as almost always) but their relationship evolves to become completely another thing throughout the trilogy, just like irl.

Yeah that's true, but keep in mind nothing they did would ever leave us all completely satisfied, since the problem is we don't want this to end.

Also, I don't know if it was pointed out before, but now the mesage you receive from kaidan after the end on the datapad application would make sense for high EMS Destroy with Shepard recovering at the hospital lol.

"Hey, Commander. Thought I might come down to see you today--if they let me. Here's hoping."
here's the link:

Don't know about the other endings receiving it but since it fits so
perfectly, I can pretend people reveiving it with them and not the time
we get it is the bug.

lots of people are saying that but I think that ending is rather powerful if you talk through it not simply shoot the kid. People demanded that Shep have no rights to decide for everyone in the galaxy so Bioware give us this option, but then people failed to see the fact that you can't just walk away and don't get harmed. The reapers are still there and it's been stated crystal clear that conventional strategy = lose. It is reasonable that everyone dies in that ending.

The assumption that Bioware tries to give a middle finger to those who don't like the endings seems like a projection to me. That ending is more like a "Do I have to fking show you that you will fail fighting conventionally?" ending.

That is an F-U ending. :-)

It's still disliking the ending, even if it's because you think you can win conventionally and don't want to choose any of the kid's choices. If you don't like the ending and think you can walk away from it, BioWare has news for you.

Basically "Take one of our choices, or play somebody else's game."

That said, I don't particularly disfavor the ending, although I think it's invalid (but it does have some merit if you do it in dialogue instead of just shooting the kid in the face). Not having to see the Stargazer scene is a real treat, though.
