At this point LIs are definitely picked and their dialogues written in majority. Voice Actors are already working and last Thursday and Friday they were already mo-capping LI scenes. The only thing that could happen now would be cutting some LI down which I pray will not be the case. If Kaidan's s/s romance gets cut AGAIN from the franchise, it'll be as if they're just laughing in our facesElitePinecone wrote...
Firstly, whoever posted that Kaiduck picture had my eternal gratitude.
I agree that Shepard's story should be left ambiguous, perhaps with the Normandy flying off into the galaxy if we survive. Pinning it down too much without player input would be not ideal.
I also don't really like the thought of Liara narrating from a few hundred years into the future, although a scene with her immediately after the invasion's end talking about the reconstruction of the galaxy would be nice.
As to who will be the S/S romance if it's only new characters? Probably not Vega. If the Kaidan 'confirmation' is false, I'd expect there'll be another new character of some description.
Patrick Weekes (@patsquinade on Twitter) has been tweeting a lot recently about writing in dialogue for new characters. Ditto for Mac Walters, the lead writer - he's been planning the romance dialogue and scenes.

People are particularly sardonic on their 28th response to the same argument.
Sian, especially, you made me laugh

I don't think it's quite that simple. Your average straight male finds girl-on-girl sexy as long as it's for solely his personal gratification. As soon as two women start showing romantic affection, or one of them dares to be anything less attractive than a supermodel, they go straight for "******," "carpet-muncher," etc.Maria Caliban wrote...
1) Lesbians aren't sexy, bisexual women or girl/girl is sexy.Captain_Obvious wrote...
This is probably what bothers me the most. It's okay for anyone who plays as FemShep to get hit on by an Asari, because hey, lesbians are sexy, and you can just turn her down, while MaleSheps shouldn't have to denigrate themselves to turn down an advance from another man. I'll take double standards for $500, Alex. I don't remember ever seeing one thread about Liara hitting on FemShep.
2) Yes, there were threads where people complained about Liara hitting on their FemShep. There were threads where people complained about Liara hitting on their DudeShep as well.
And about the Liara issue, let's keep it in perspective. Sure, there were a couple people complaining about being forced into a romance with her, but not one of those threads made an issue about the fact that it was *gasp* a woman hitting on another woman. That was almost never brought up. Where was all of this outrage that we're seeing now back when ME1 came out?
*Liara hitting on femShep* "I'd really appreciate it if i wasn't forced into a romance with someone I don't wan't."
*Man hitting on maleShep* "ZOMG I don't wan't any men hitting on me in MY game! He can keep his ****** advances to himself."

It really is. Not to mention the trilogy experience gaymers simply will not be able to have at this point in full with no romances in ME1&2. Yet they're getting so freaking angry BW will develop something to us in ME3... It's just disheartening at timesRyzaki wrote...

As long as the m/m option is good looking and has a interesting personality (that's preferably not BROOD AND RAGE) I'm happy. A british accent is gravy though.

We're seeing a psychotic reaction from a very, very vocal minority of people.
Every single poll has shown that users are, for the most part, neutral or positive about the idea of optional romances for other people that they won't use themselves.
The biggest reaction would be apathy - remember that 50% of ME2 players didn't even finish the game! As much as they don't like to admit it, most of Mass Effect's fans are in it for the action and the space opera and the pew pew and the space ships, not so much the connection to the characters.

I am surprised by some of the hate. A lot of stuff that gets said makes me feel like I've taken a time warp to 15 years ago. People are entitled to their opinions though, and beliefs that are pushed from childhood take a long time to change.Dhiro wrote...

That's the hard part, I think, to realize that some people can raise their son/daughter to be polite, smart, kinda, funny and hate gay people. And it's not even their fault, sometimes. It's just a horrible circle of hate that will probably never end. I assume that's why gay people usually are so good at sarcasm.
Edit: typos.

I really do like the scoreboard signature and I wish someone would make a sig graphic for it, maybe in the style of a sports scoreboard the only change I would make is for the F/F score is to make it 1~ to signify the asexual/not really female/alien BS.
Maybe 1.5 because you get Kelly.

Someone asked how many relationships were in the game, and I whipped out the scoreboard.
