Hey guys. A couple people a few pages back said that they liked my signature and that it would be cool if it were turned into a banner. I figured that it would work best as a .gif file, so I created the individual slides. The only problem is that i have no idea how to turn them into an animation.

Awesome. Don't know why I didn't think of that before.

I didn't realize how big the text looks compared to all of the other banners on the forums.

I don't really feel like remaking it, though.

I remember when I was running the link exchange thread for the bazaar and was manually editting out double entries from almost 1000 links as well as randomizing the list so the top of it wasn't favorited and I found a tool online that did it automatically after like a week!  I was so pissed off at myself for not doing that simple google search first.

Also nice work on it, I like that the text is nice and big, the easier for it to be seen!

I'm glad everyone likes it.

Another thing I don't really like is that the text doesn't have a black border. I'm new at GIMP and I didn't have any idea how to do that.

It's a nice sig, very easy to read.

What's the background image, out of interest?

This wallpaper. It's actually the same image that you see when you look out of the Citadel windows in ME2.

I'm not seeing enough people taking the gay dolphin sig. That's ok though. All the squad members are gay dolphins in my heart.

There is some very interesting points being made through this thread even though I confess to only reading the first 30 pages and the last couple. There's been quite a bit of feedback on people being unhappy with different scenarios of former LI's being available for s/s relationships as well as a selection of LI's being purely straight, gay or bi.
Feel free to object but a random thought that occured to me is this:

Mass Effect's story has been designed to be controlled by some degree by we the players and how we want the story to play out. How we interact with NPCs can determine the paths they take. My thought is this, playing as a femShep my LI's know no maleShep, it's the way we interact with them that will determine if they become interested in us romantically. When the option is given to us our choice to initiate a romance determines if a character is straight, gay or bi. With that in mind why would it be such a terrible thing to have the option open to us if we want romance between femShep and Ash or Tali or any of the other gorgeously designed characters? They only become bi (if you can call it that considering they won't have ever met the other half of Shep, unless of course they've already shared they've had a previous relationship) if we choose it so if you're not interested don't choose it, how we play it makes it our story afterall and we have to take ownership for our choices.

I've played ME1 and 2 through heaps of times and romanced all possible LI's. I prefer my femShep as I love Hale's acting though I wasn't happy with her LI options, didn't mind Kaiden but preferred Liara, Garrus was awkward, Thane dying, Jacob just lay there unmoving and totally killed the scene. Whereas maleShep, whose voice didn't engage me as much, got much better options, Ash is just awesome, crazy nut with gooey center Jack, cute and innocent Tali and mysterious, sexy Miranda. I would totally go nuts :o for a femShep who could romance Tali, Miri and Ash.

And that's my two bobs worth!!

ToriJay, I am with you all the way about loving Hale and adoring the female LIs... The problem with "everyone is shepardsexual" that a lot of people seem to have is that apparently "breaks immersion" and 'ruins the character"... I for one thing think it's bull, but on the other hand I would love characters that are actually explicitly gay/bisexual/pansexual/etc. I loved how DA2 did it, with two characters explicitly swinging both ways and the other two just going along with Hawke's advances.

That said, people protesting the inclusion of same sex romance are mostly homophobes and will not be appeased by any compromise people suggest.

That may be a tad harsh.

There's room to compromise with people who feel very strongly about the characters, although many of the arguments that suggest 'continuity would be broken', or 'characters would be retconned' are simply ridiculous grasping at straws. What may be important, I think, is that any romances are written well and with the interests of maintaining character immersion in mind.

Equally, many of the concerns about 'ninjamances', or the ambiguity of romance dialogue, should be addressed. This has been a problem for two or three Bioware games now and isn't by any means exclusive to same-sex romances. It's fairly tiring having to wade through useless romantic advances when playing a gay or lesbian Shepard, so I think many people in this thread/group can appreciate this issue.

That being said, there are (as you say) a not insignificant number of people who are protesting the inclusion for no other reasons than their personal discomfort, ignorance or fear. This may be explicit or conceiled behind spurious arguments. Either way, their opinion deserves to be challenged, and eventually they will need to accept whatever paths Bioware chooses to go down.

Demonic_cookie you make an excellent point. DA2 was awesome in that regard, it would be very cool to have a character or two who make the first advance either way, gay or straight. It could be interesting to see what happens if, for example, femShep romanced Kaiden but after Horizon was too cut up about how that went down to continue a romance and someone else stepped up. It would be nice for someone else to initiate the flirting, perhaps take Shep a little off guard... I think Miranda could be up for the task, especially if you completed her loyalty mission and encouraged her with her self esteem issues. Then again she and Tali are my faves from ME2 so I could biased. :D The new character Vega could also be up for the challenge but from what I understand he might not actually be an LI.

ElitePinecone you got in while I was typing!! I like the way DA2 made it clear if a conversation option lead to a romantic path. Perhaps something for BioWare to consider applying to ME3 so we know if we're just being friendly or 'friendly'. As for the other stuff, everyone has a right to an opinion, if they don't wish to play a particular way they really don't have to, that is something they should keep in mind. :)
