The Mass Effect wiki has two lines about him, which is pretty much all we know from the last few interviews where he was mentioned:

That, and the marketing push that seems to be emphasising the combat elements and "pew pew pew guns explosions pew!" over storytelling or narrative seems to suggest he's a poster-character for the very military-heavy focus of the game. That isn't to say his character won't be deep (I'm sure it will!), but given that 80% of players use a maleShep and Vega is guaranteed to be in the game, making him a bisexual love interest would be a brave choice at best.

Your average dudebro who buys the game for its pew-pew combat, gets talking to badass Vega then discovers he's open to a bit of Shep lovin'? Might not react well, if what we've seen on the forums is anything to go by.

Not saying that it won't happen, and again I could be wrong (this is entirely unfounded speculation), but to my mind it's more likely that other characters (new or otherwise) would be the s/s option for male characters.

Remember that Bioware still have some (several?) new characters to reveal.

Naturally, this should have immediately put to rest the firestorm of conflict that erupted over existing characters as s/s LIs, but as we all know, it didn't. I also think this is probably a reference to James Vega, but it's possible CHud is referring to other characters in this Tweet. In any case, it certainly doesn't shed any light on the identity of the female s/s human character (I assume the s/s LIs will include humans....)

I wonder if there'll be more than one s/s love interest so the game can appeal to those who'd rather romance a human and those who'd rather romance an alien.

I wonder what are the chances of Jacob being a s/s love interest? (not that I'd be interested in him in any romance option...)

It could at last be half gay and half straight. That way everyone gets equal restrictions. 

THIS, though I wonder if Bioware is more likely to go down the 'everyone's bi' route to avoid the whinges of fangirls wailing 'homophobia!' because the guy their male shep is interested in is straight (I certainly came across enough of them complaining that Alistair was a no-go for their male warden)

I'm actually rather fond of Ash's AA. It's far better looking than the catsuit and seems like it's actually a coat and pants kind of deal. If that's her casual she's definitely staying in that for my games (and I really hope you're right about both VS being s/s options <3)

I like the art design in general, it looks like they've taken more care to differentiate the characters and emphasise their different roles in combat.

I still think Ashley's armour looks a bit too frail, though, especially given she - and not Kaidan, who is wearing the bulky stuff - is meant to be on the front line. In fact switching the armour designs even seems more logical.

Ashley's colour looks great (a more mature version of her pink Phoenix set?) and the others looks generally excellent.

I also have to really commend Bioware - no Matriarch Benezia/Samara-esque bewbs in the face! Well, yet.

I really don't like Vega's looks and if ElitePinecone's assumptions about his demographic are correct I'm not likely to like his personality very much either. If I wanted to romance someone with an unattractive personality I'd rather go for the Turian councillor. Even if he does have a likeable personality I'd much rather be friends than lovers with him.

I'm going to wait to see him in game and in motion before I pass judgment on his appearance.  Ashley and Jacob are two characters that have really weird angles from time to time.  If I didn't see them in game and in motion I might find their appearances jarring.

Ashley: Looks good, except for the "miniskirt" effect of her tunic.

Vega: BARF. Somebody beat the poor kid with an Ugly Stick. I hope for his sake that his voice acting and directing is AWESOME, or he'll be Jacob 2.0 in the community. (Not that most people's dislike of Jacob is at all reasonable.)

Liara: Looks like she's trying too hard to look like Samara. You're awesome Liara, but you're no Samara, so don't try to dress like her.<_<

I hate eyepieces, for one thing, and this getup makes him look like a refugee from the Borg (Star Trek). And he's got that steroid "inflexible" look, like his muscles are so bulky that he can't touch his torso with his hands anymore. And he's got a pig nose and a huge mouth. I'm sure he's going to have worse Chiclet Teeth Syndrome than Jacob did.

Obviously the folks at Bioware don't really have a grasp of the anatomy of human teeth. The maxillary central incisors are the widest, flattest, teeth, the maxillary lateral incisors are narrower, and the canines are generally cone-shaped. The premolars and molars are often somewhat pointed, not flat cork-like structures. The mandibular teeth follow the same morphology of the maxillary teeth, but are generally somewhat smaller (especially the central and lateral incisors) and often are less visible while talking due to the action of the lips.

It isn't the end of the world, assuming that Kaidan is bi as well.  You can choose "pretty" or "beef."  It's more of a selection than they've given the community in the past.
