I still fully support the option of s/s on established characters that make sense.
This, especially with male s/s romance. One of the biggest draws of the romances in ME Trilogy is the fact there's a possibility of having a trilogy-spanning relationship with a LI. At this point, male gay players will not have that full trilogy experience no matter what because the first two games are out and didn't have male s/s romance option. But if one of the former LIs is available as s/s LI in ME3, it would at least be a some sort of a substitue of a trilogy-spanning romance experience, the best we could get at this point in the franchise. And it can't be a non-squaddie, at least not the only one. All the other main LIs (that unlock Paramour Achievement) were squaddies. You spent the most time with the squaddies, during the most important events, that's how you bond with them even further. Having the male s/s romance option be only with a non-squaddie would make the romance be less than straight/lesbian romances with squaddies like Ashley or Liara. So for me, having at least 1 former male LI be available for s/s romance in ME3 is a must as it's the only way to bring the romance experience for gay players anywhere close to the level straight romances or the Liara romance are. And even then, it will still not be the same simply because of lack of option in ME1 and ME2 but there's nothing that can be done about that at this point, so we have to hope for second-best solution.

thats actually alot worse than them being secretly bi for a couple years without ever hinting, emoting, or accidently revealing a clue that they're bi.
Tali was in love with Shepard for years without ever hinting, emoting, or accidentaly revealing a clue she was interested in a different spiece. But they've written it well in ME2 so it wasn't a problem. It all comes down to writing and the way Tali's hidden feelings were written in should give everyone confidence in BW writers' ability to handle old characters revealing they're bi well.
