Haven't read the entire thread, just want to say that I'm extremely pleased about gay romances in ME3. It's pissed me off since I had the first convo with Kaidan in ME1. I hated him, but I wanted him to be Shepard's boyfriend so badly. Maybe I wanted my Shep to hatef*** him?
In any case, I'm very pleased by a step towards parity.

Anywho, since this hasn't come up in the earlier ME games, I wonder how this is going to manifest. Like, is Shepard gonna pull out something like Anders said in DA2 where he was like "I don't care about the body, love is love," or will s/he have some kind of sexual realization or what? I dunno. I'd been looking forward to the game before, but this has renewed a lot of my excitement, even if I don't end up pursuing any homosexual romances. Good stuff, Bioware.
In order to keep outrage to a minimum, I believe Bioware will probably have some incredibly OVERT dialog trigger to activate any gay romances with previous squad members to spare ruining some fragile fan's immersion. Other than that, I hope they cater to the romantic fan who believes in true love AND to the hedonist fan who just want to have sex with whomever s/he wants before s/he dies.

Okay, in order to keep this thread going, let's bring up the movie we'll never see, "Mass Effect: The Adventures of Gay Shepard." Who would YOU want to star as the movie's first couple?
According to my GF, who's male Shepard's are all gay, she wants Rodrigo Santoro as Shepard and Ryan Reynolds as Joker. Not sure about that combo myself, but then the only gay couple I have currently is Shepard and Liara and I'm having trouble with the whole blue tentacle thing.

Well, hmmm... I'd like to see Noomi Raapace as Shepard and I'm sure I'm going to be flamed to hell for this and Michelle Rodriguez as Ashley myself.

Especially not Ryan Reynolds. He's hot but I'm sick of his face being everywhere <_<
But this is just obligatory who we want to see making out as ME's character right?
Alex o"Loughlin as Shepard
Matt Bomer as Kaidan.

Its common sense if they were only avalible to male or female it was for a reason they were not interested.IsaacShep wrote...

Now remind us who was completly uninterested in Shepard in ME1? That's right. Tali & Garrus. By your logic no option = lack of interst. Means Tali & Garrus shouldn't be into Shep in ME2.xnoxiousx wrote...

Dood, like, everyone knows same sex is better man. Once the characters know they can swing both ways hetero romances are going to dissapear and everyone is going to embrace the freedoms of homosexual sexuality.

Yeah, but, it's "common sense" that it Tali or Garrus had been interested in Shepard they would have flirted with him/her in ME1.
Oh, but wait, no, they had character development that made them available for romantic pursuit!
And so will Kaidan and Ash if they become available to same-sex Shepards in ME3. Why don't people understand that?

Michelle Rodriguez is hot and I can totally see her as Ash.
And I'm not ashamed to admit that watching her get her ladygrope on with Noomi would make me question my sexuality...
Edit for: Wow apparantly just writing about that ladygroping is enough to make me forget how words work. wtf.

Kaidan and Ash had only cameos in ME2 so it's been 2,5 years fo them since they've had much interaction with Shep, not to mention they basically made their feelings for Shep of either gender clear on Horizon anyway soxnoxiousx wrote...

Not sure, for some reason Rodriquez seems to be a love her or hate her kind of actress. Probably because she pretty much only plays variants of the same roll.
As for Noomi and Michelle lady gropping, I will say yes with a side of please.
