I hope they keep all me2 characters true. Garrus, tali, and all me2 characters were straight so it should stay that way do not change them just due to fan outrage to bad not everyone one is attracted to same sex get over it.
Tali's bi bro, didn't you get the scene between her and Samara?
By the same logic you could say, just because the others, for example Kaidan, didn't persue a homosexual romance earlier, doesn't mean, they are not bi.
You actually just admitted, that just because someone doesn't show an open homosexual interest doesn't mean they can't be bi.
Just wanted lo let you know...
As for real-life actor pairings, I have to go back to the Williams-Parasini scenario: In my head they are already played by either Alice Braga or Erica Cerra as Ashley and Janina Gavankar as Gianna.
As for Kaidan, my imagination already casted Christian Kane.
For Jack, I kind of see Robin Tunney, though she might probably be a bit too old by now for that role.
Miranda is kind of obvious.
Everybody else - I don't care, I have no interest in them
When it comes to Shepard, I can't really make up my mind, because mine are all very different.
edit: Oops, I forgot Liara, funny, I never really thought about who could play her...

But Tracey Ulman would get the artsy crowd, giving the movie credibility.
Hey! Was that a euphemism?

Still, it's great that ME3's S/S romances are getting some wider attention and the reaction has been so positive, on the whole.

It was an interesting article (I remember reading it the first time around) but it's basically speculation and I think a lot of what was said in it could be found in any number of the threads floating around these forums. Until we get some details from Bioware a lot of what we talk about is probably incorrect or incomplete...
Still, it's great that ME3's S/S romances are getting some wider attention and the reaction has been so positive, on the whole.
The thing that please me to no end, though, is the insistence of so many gamers that RPG VGs NEED to be more realistic. Reading so many comments from Mass Effect and Dragon Age fans who were overjoyed that Bioware FINALLY stopped allowing players to dress up their party members and started limiting powers and skills to a specific style preferred by certain characters really increased their immersion.
That is realism, and in a RPG, that is quality. Giving fans a lot of choices over their party members is blatant fan service. Quality is a party member who wears only what the game designers allow him/her too, and Merrill never being able to learn a healing spell and Garrus never handling a shotgun.
Unfortunately Bioware had to destroy player immerision by actually giving them the ability to choose some party members' sexuality. The outrage! Even though Hawke was given the ability to flirt with anyone with a pulse, it ruins immersion when the only five characters who WILL sleep with Hawke are all bisexual, especially the guys.
And read all the releases ME3. It is ruined! Not only will players possibly be allowed to choose s/s romances, but now be able to customize weapons and armor WITHOUT having to buy a DLC! If they give players he option to effect the armor and weapons of party members, that is going TOO FAR. It has already been established that Ashley prefers white armor and Kaiden prefers blue. My immersion is important, damn it all!
More realism in RPG VGs now!

Let's not even bring up the fact that arguing for realism in games that contain magic, physics breaking science, non-human races, robotic elder gods, and and corrupted monsters hell-bent on destroying the world is like complaining that there's too much water at Niagra Falls.
I have no problem with Niagra Falls having water, I just hate it when it keeps shoving all that mist into my face. It really ruins my immersion.

It's going to be worse if familiar characters are available for S/S, thogh.
As we've seen it's extremely difficult to change perceptions that "all characters are heterosexual hurr dur RETCON RETCON CHAAAAANGE!!"

I've always had a slightly skewed view when it comes to sexuality and what people call "realism"ArawnNox wrote...

I know several bisexuals. Male and female. White, black, asian, etc. Various faiths, various philosophies. And I met them all quite randomly. I don't go to gay bars and I've only been to one pride festival and the only new friend I met there was a heterosexual...So it's not like i've put myself in a position where I would logically meet lots of GLBT people bny being somewhere that would naturally have a higher concentration of them than anywhere else . None the less I do know at least ten bisexuals... possibly more as a couple of my friends are a bit iffy.
One thing I have never done though, is meet an elf.
So when people were saying the 4 bi LI's were just horrifically completely entiiiirely unrealistic... in a game full of dragons and elves and darkspawn... I just had to assume I live in the wrong reality. A boring stupid reality that lacks dragons but apparantly makes up for it with an excess of bisexuals.

This is pretty much the main reason I can't go into the DA2 forums and spend all my time in this thread. Every change in DA2, according to the forums, was made for the worse.
I'm the only one who looked at it as a fresh start, rather than a true sequel.

I think the characters who will be the LEAST (though still A LOT) amount of criticism will be Kaidan or Ashley since there is a good chance they are dead already. I believe that point has been brought up before.
I will be STUNNED if "bro" characters like Garrus, Grunt or Zaeed come out of the closet.
I am NOT sure why, but I do not think that Miranda will get as much of a backlash from fans.

I'm hoping that if the Virmire Survivor is the familiar option chosen, then the hubbub won't be as ridiculously over the top.
A lot of the "OMG DUDEBRO" people posting in various threads on this board have stated very emphatically that they don't want Garrus (it's always Garrus, for some reason) to "be gay", but were rather less concerned about, say, Kaidan (and they weren't at all worried about f/f options. I wonder why?).
Still, I'd never underestimate the power of game fans to turn a molehill into a mountain. I can guarantee that there'll be anti-s/s threads, even anti-character threads, popping up no matter what Bioware do. You're right though that some would attract less vitriol than others (and the 80% of players with male Shepards, many of which may be adolescent male shooter fans, probably would've killed Kaidan or used a default Kaidan-less save in any case).
Now that I think about it, actually, the VS (plus a new character?) would be *the* least-fraught option for Bioware if they were choosing a past character to be available for s/s. Many ME players would've saved the opposite-gender VS, and default Shepards in ME2, before the introduction of the comic, killed off the same-gendered VS in any case. I'm sure they have internal telemetrics, but it's likely that only a tiny proportion of maleSheps even have Kaidan alive, and ditto for femSheps with Ashley.

Sorry to kind of sort of get off topic. I have been wasting too much sick time on other threads where this subject comes up. Damn morons.
As for your question, it depends on the romance. IF I can have a male Shepard romance Garrus, I see that as more of a tumble with a friend than a long term relationship.
As for Kaidan or Joker, I just want an epilogue scene where my Shepard can say he is leaving the service. I believe that would be a pretty dramatic moment since up till that point all the Shepards have looked like career men, and the admission that he is physically, mentally and spiritually exhasted from being a soldier, terrorist, Specter for the last five years could be very powerful if acted well. Then Kaiden/Joker should be moved near to tears that that means Shepard will be devoting the rest of his life to him.
That would work for some of the hetero romances as well.

Shore leave.
This is relevant to my interests.
I'd like something definite and final, but with a large degree of player choice. The worst thing would be an open-ended or vague epilogue to Shepard's story that left the possibility of a return in future media.
Settling down or touring the galaxy would be top of the list. All my Shepards are career Alliance soldiers, though, so I'd want to stay in the navy with any LI if that were an option.
It really depends on the character, though.

Garrus is a 'bro' and he needs to be straight so they can talk with him about nothing but all the girls they will score and all the strip clubs they will visit together.ElitePinecone wrote...

Because "girl-on-girl sex is hawt!!!11" of course and being bisexual they will surely invite the male to join them and focus all their attention on him.ElitePinecone wrote...

Part of me is wishing they hadn't announced their intention to include s/s romances this time around, and just gone down the DA2 route of adding them quietly for people to discover on release. As least the hip deep vitriol wouldn't start for another nine months or so.
