I believe the line pops up as a left option immediately after his loyalty mission.  "Surprised about Miranda?" or something.

Yeah...any Shep I had interested in Jacob would ask him about that.

To me, the line is completely innocuous when Jacob says it outside of a romance, especially if he's unaware of Shepard's intentions or interest.  Inside of a romance, it's not in the best taste for him to say that, but awkward statements are kind of the norm for Jacob.

Harbinger is coming to romance Shepard in ME3. <3

Jacob was the only LI who broke up with my Shepard and it was really nice of him to ask how my Shepard was feeling. His romance was very refreshing, they only screwed up his romance conclusion.

I demand that every manShep starts instantly flirting with Jacob in ME3. Bring it on!
*pic snip*

Actually, I'm pretty sure my Male!Shep was flirting with Jacob in Mass Effect 2, He complimented Jacob's body, I'm sure of it.

And I demand an ass groping scene in Mass Effect 3! Come on, you know even Femshep wanted a piece of that.;)

Yeah, there is that.  Other people have brought up his obsessive exercise regimen as proof of homosexuality, but I find that argument tenuous at best.

If there's a romance with Krogans, I hope they will do without sex scene. Headbump in this case would be more than necessary xD

I don't know. I mean, Krogans have four testicles. I've been wondering if that duplication extended elsewhere. It must be determined, for science.

WAT.

How..what?

I'm sorry my brain just...it broke. :/ I know way to many fitness freaks that believe that's something that's proof of homosexuality.

It doesn't really make any sense.  There is the stereotype of the exceedingly vain and fit gay man, but that doesn't mean everyone who devotes themselves to maintaining a herculean physique is gay.

And here I thought the only quality in a person that demonstrated homosexuality was a desire to sleep with people of the same gender. How silly of me.

when Jacob tells him "Already? I'm not great on forcing these talks ..." i always wonder what he's actually hinting at.
After all Shep isn't using the " more interesting to talk for a bit" or " wanting to know you beter" lines with other crewmen.

It doesn't.

I don't know why anyone would think it does.

my Shep has an amazing armor collection . A different color combo for every mission.

I agree with you. It doesn't make sense. We shouldn't need to dream up sterotypes just to prove someone is BI. And do people think he's some meathead? It only looks that way because of how tight his suit is.<_< Yet another degrading stereotype.

I even hear people talking about Jacob being on the "DL"...

There is the unfortunate stereotype that most gay males are effemanite and flamboyant. It is true that there are a great many out of closet homosexual men who are effemanite and flamboyant, but not every gay man is E&F, and not every E&F male is gay. My own personal theory is that if man isn't E&F, it's easier to stay in the closet, while if he is E&F, chances are there are a bunch of cloacas that have been picking on him his whole life so he doesn't see the point of staying in the closet anymore.

As "alternative lifestyles" become more accepted, I believe we'll all be surprised just how many non-stereotypical gays there are, a whole legion of beer-drinking pudgy Southern white male Wal-Mart shoppers with wife-beater shirts and mullets.

^ This is pretty much the reason why James Vega being a s/s option or not worries me.

On one hand him not being a s/s option could give the idea that he couldn't be bisexual because he's muscle bound and "manly", basically the opposite of the stereotype of men that like men being "feminine".

But if he's bisexual it could be seen as a deconstruction of that stereotype which would be something of a, more or less, good thing, or serve to impose the stereotype even more with him being a rare example of the opposite expected.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

I'm sorry for the confusion that is this post, 3 hours of sleep + english not being my mother language ruins my ability to express my thoughts coherently.

No problem. I'm a Puerto Rican and an English major, and I still screw up putting my thoughts together on this forum.

I wish Vega could be gay. 100% gay, no hetero. Would be the best 'lesson' for the dudebros that gays can be 'dudebros' as well.

THIS.

I just want one gay hero, Bioware. Just one! And not one muddled with an "accidental" bisexuality bug like Juhani, but an honest-to-goodness, completely, homosexual and proud of it character. And if this character is an badass marine like James Vega, I'll be all the more happy.

There are so many nice ass shots of Jacob, it's hard to avoid them... So THAT'S why no one uses him in combat. Not because of Barrier spamming, or annoying battle qoutes. They don't want to catch a glimpse of datass in combat, it could distract them... It all makes sense now.:wizard:

Speaking of datass, Bioware PLEASE don't cover up Jacob PLEASE! If you do... I'l have nothing to stare at. Grunt and Wrex have shells, Garrus doesn't even have an ass, and Thane is wearing some kind of overcoat for goodness sakes! The only ones left will be Mordin and the women. I... don't want to think about it. It's too depressing.:crying:

Agreed for not showing a sex scene. ...But I wanna sit in their laps and french'em, just to squick my squaddies out :P

(I'm completely in favour of that fanfic where "mock-doing" the clan leader allows you to lead a Krogan army.)

"Hey Wrex, guess how I REALLY wanted to persuade you on Virmire?"
"Shepard."
"Wrex."
